I walked up Cruises street in Limerick today and three chuggers in a row took a look at me out of the corner of their eye and decided I wasn't the kind of person who would: a) suffer their pathetic sob stories, or b) have any money to give them.
Either way, nice.

Ehhhh
my mate's missus used to make a comment whenever a furniture ad came on the telly in the pub along the lines of "would you think about buying that, if you had a house"
now it's "when we buy a house, we should get that"

What sort of society do we have when a foot.ie stallwart can't even request that his relic gets rubbed??
All this fuss over a medal - Shocking.
Schumi
16/11/2010, 12:42 PM
the... boss claimed 'rub of the relic' referred to a miraculous medal a staff member brought back from Lourdes, but the Tribunal rejected this, knowing it to be a 'colloquial reference to masturbation'.The funniest newspaper quote in ages. :)

In light of this slight rebuff, Cool Dog has some advice for those with unrubbed relics.

I also thought that excuse of "Steadying her" was choice too.
Clearly a different Mr A.

Christmas cards written, some presents bought, figured out where 24 people are going to sleep in my parents house Christmas night and the boys have written their Christmas lists which include Jesus and Judas action figures, a banana sandwich, various weapons and a magic invisible exploding car. Ummm seems I'm not the only crazy in my house.

He chose it himself. We wrote the 3 names we were considering on pieces of paper and put treats on them all and he ate off ernie and watson. Ernie is short for ernesto after che guevara and Watson is coz he will be my sidekick!

Does this thread also double up for rants? Just been told to "F### off back to Ireland" by one of Englands brave police horseriders. Not my bloody fault I got caught up in the student protests, was merely trying to get home from town - because of the stupid road closures the buses were out of action. Would have loved to cuss him back, but try that with a copper and you'll only end up in cuffs. It was interesting to see that most of them had covered up their badge numbers- surely thats illegal? and didn't they rule out the use of kettling? Laughed when I heard people shouting at them "your jobs are being cut to".
Rant over.

I'm not a hater of the police, I am extremely grateful for a lot of what they do, but you probably shouldn't seriously ask whether or not they were doing something illegal. Police breaking the law is about as shocking as finding a dvd left in the dvd player.

Ah **** it. My brain is so close to exploding at those thick ***** in FF that I am absolutely gutted I won't be here on Saturday for the protests. have tickets to the Two Door Cinema Club gig next week in Tripod, but I've been given a ticket to the Tron: Legacy premier (with Olivia Wilde rumoured to attend) on the same night.
