I just realised this morning that Semple Stadium in Thurles can hold 1/3 of Tipperarys entire population. That must be some sort of regional record?

In other words, what in the utter bejaysis is a town of less than 8,000 people doing with a stadium holding over 50,000?

Second most out-of-scale stadium in Ireland after the Alberts Arena in Termonbarry.

Hungary beat Norway 0-1 in Oslo last night. Some TV commentator said they got the "vital away goal". In a 0-1 win away from home that goal will never take on the mystical power of an "away goal". It counts just as a goal.

You are correct, although what he said is more forgivable if said during the game (when Norway could still have scored; meaning the Hungary away goal could have assumed significance if the second leg were then to end up 0-0) than if it had been said in hindsight. Was it after the game he said it? If so, name and shame!

A Real Madrid player has only won it three times, Ronaldo twice and Benzema
Athletico Madrid have won it the most, six times. Griezman twice, Gidin twice, Koke and Costa

After the game. Can't remember whether it was SKY or Today FM. All these sports reports I listen to on the day of a game merge in to one.

There's historical significance to Thurles possessing such a stadium. Not the worst offender. Clones is one that boggles the mind. Though I wouldn't give up Ulster Final days out there. Class.

EDIT: Worth a gander. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Gaelic_Athletic_Association_stadiums

Yeah, GAA stadiums per size of town is amazing in some places.

Killarney, 43,180 - town size 14,129
Cavan, 32,000 - town size 3,607
Carlow, 21,000 - town size 13,698
Enniskillen 20,000 - town size 13,757
Ballybofey 18,000 - town size 4,852

Most incredibly, when you think about it, a town of less than 5,000 people, Ballybofey is soon going to have two stadiums that can host more than the population of the town itself.

Just finished Life is Strange, on the PS4. Best game I've played this year.
Completely missed a sub-plot that most other people seemed to instinctively pick up on. It's something people tell me I don't pick up on in real life too. Pretty interesting experience.
Will take this to the gaming forum.

Jesus man. Sorry to hear that.

It's funny when you've been on a messageboard like this for so long you actually seem to have a notion of certain posters relationships and given the stuff you've posted over the years I had you pegged for a proper long-term marriage type dealy.
Well before Nigel bothers to pop the question.

Having had a pretty horrible breakup earlier in the year I can understand how you are feeling. Only thing for it is to be around your mates as much as you can.
And also, don't be afraid to wallow in your own misery. It needs to be done despite the conventional wisdom and what others will say.

I was better for it, tbh, though it did help that my ex was a bit of a gowl about everything in the end.

In all seriousness, it's tough what you're going through.

Last year, I actually split from my missus, the mother of my child and my partner of 5 years. We're back together now, but the split was the best thing both of us ever done. Just simply to get space from each other, thinking time and re-evaluation time.

You'll never know exactly where you're going to go from here. You'll take so much advice, and you'll hear an awful lot of rubbish about what you should and should not do. All I can say to you, is go with your gut. Only you really know what's best for you right now.

I only ended up spending little over a month split from my partner last year. It ended up being a month where I learned an awful lot more about myself, about who I was, and where my life was going. A year later, I've moved to the other end of the country, I've left college, and I'm concentrating on being a stay at home father for the time being and it was all for my girlfriend who needed to move back to Carlow to spend more time with her ageing parents as her only other sibling lives in Australia and has little other family to help take care of her folks.

You simply need to take stock of where you're at right now. Take a step back, breathe a little. And I'll honestly say this without a shred of discomfort or embarrassment, but counselling is your best friend right now. Whether or not you feel you need it, one of the greatest things I've ever done in my life despite initial reservations over whether I should have, or needed to go.

Only time will tell what is next in store for you.

I think it depends on the cause too. If she cheated or you cheated and are kicking yourself, that's rough. If its just growing apart, having diff goals or being long distance, etc...that's a little different. Jealousy is a waste of energy tho. I will say that.

Acornvilla

Thanks for the advice lads, yeah, it's pretty crap. It was more the drifting apart variety, we're both incredibly busy, just wasn't working any more. Now going through the cluster**** of who keeps what, who moves where. Names are on all of the various bills. I've had to duck out of the social stuff now for the last few days, simply because we have the same circle of friends, having gone to college together, lived together etc. The problem with being busy now thou is that it isn't as much of a distraction, as just making it very difficult to function. Could really use a holiday right about now to clear my head and get all the logistics out of the way.

Don't mean to be cluttering up the forum with my sorrow now, so my apologies.

Ah sure don't be worrying. Don't rush through the logistics too quickly though. Think about where you plan to be in 6 months and sit yourself in that regard. Time to be selfish.

That's a balls though. My front light was stolen off my bike recently while I was at work. I never bothered taking it off because the shed is right by security here and in 8 years I never had an issue. A truly manky thing to do to someone at this time of year when it's vital having lights. Had to cycle with my phone out and flashlight app on to get home. Must have looked a right mentaller but I had no choice.

Whenever I see this North Korean fat little kid (As Howard Stern calls him) in the news, I think about how one day soon it seems to me someone there is going to take him out. It's amazing to me his father lasted all those years....its like the mob. Eventually the boss gets whacked right? He must sleep with his eyes open. In 1999 South Korea opened a govt dept based on preparing for the day that millions of starving North Koreans will need to be fed, once the regime collapses. I find that fascinating.
