The white seats will look good under lights, i think due to fading issues this is why all the seats in grounds should be white but not faded pink like you see in most grounds today

Word on Drogheda forum is that their Bryanstown move is officially dead.

word on the street , from the dogs that is, is Drogheda United is officially dead.

as regards the seats in SDCC stadium, yeah they look ****e but its not Rovers place to tell the councill what colour to have them.
its great to have such trivial issues to argue about at Rovers
Our team/club is healthy enough off the pitch which is more than can be said for a whole load of teams.

It's a pretty big wall and it's already got some serious looking spikes on it!

I have to say the rear of the stand looks fantastic, the glass fronting is really modern looking and the big spiral stair is going in at the moment. It'll be a really nice entrance plaza and will certainly add to the aesthetic of the area.

Yeah, Belfield Park has, got some spare red brick as well. as its coming back into fashion, the price will match. We won't mention the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. I know some off you guys like to give an Italian sounding name to your new address (eg Santry Siro) whether it looks like it or not.

passinginterest you're outdoing yourself as an Estate Agent in selling the property. I agree though, I think SDCC completing the Tallaght Community Stadium will improve the dynamic of the immediate area (that corner leading on to Killinarden).

Hey I live just on the other side of the bypass, it might bump the property value up a bit, can't be having this negative equity lark. :)

I forgot to take a run-out to see myself when I was home there :(

Are the new Bogside flats replacements for the blocks next to the flyover on the way out to the Brandywell (can't remember the name of the estate - something Courts ?)

Is there an official name to Rovers new ground or is it going to be known as "Tallaght Stadium"??

Dalymountrower
01/01/2009, 4:15 PM
It will be named by South Dublin County Council, not by any of the tenants.

It's officially named Tallaght Stadium since a few months ago. It was unanimously agreed by SDCC as far as I remember.

Plenty of photos here http://www.jamesbyrne.net/gallery/index.php

The ground is not really going to take shape 'til around June/July time when all the filling is done.

They're actually an entry into the next Turner prize under the heading - 'Muck, fields, and road closures : A potted history of Donegal'.

There's even a fella in one of the pictures nicking the health and safety signs from the site as well !

Was in the twin-towns on Christmas Day but didn't get to swing by where the stadium is going to be. Looking forward to visiting it when it's opened.

Some details of new sports Facility in Lusk.

10 million Fingal complex has gone out on public display
To be built on council owned site to the north of Station Road in Lusk
The 5.7 hectare site will be home to a complex that includes an indoor pitch and two outdoor, floodlit pitches with a seating capacity close to 5,000
Originally it was to be just a soccer academy for the fingal community but it has now had a change of philosophy to open it up to other sports such as rugby and juvenile GAA
Parking for 210 cars. But for major events it will use a 700 car overflow carpark half a mile away.
One of the outdoor floodlit pitches will have permanent covered seating for 4,200 spectators with tempory seating for a further 560 people

Here is some links to The Fingal Independant about the sports facility that will hopefully become Sporting Fingals Home.

This is due to be our last season in Finn Park but who knows, if theres a delay it could be the 2011 season before we are in. The pitch is the big factor from what im told, the stands and all are not going to hold things up.

The developer gets Finn Park as part of the deal.

Its still going ahead, funded by the sale of current ground to the developer. New Finn Park? 6,680 seats afaik. Four stands on each side. The plans were on their site a year ago.
