First ever game for me tonight, can't wait :)
I'm expecting to lose to holidaysong but at least I'll get the first game under my belt and hopefully learn something from it.

Lost to the not so Charming Men tonight, not fielding my strongest team but still expected to win. Oh well, bring on the season this day next week!

That's what happens when you keep putting players up for ridiculous prices.;)

That doesn't make a difference. They play to 100% in their position and 85% elsewhere (60% for keepers though and outfielders playing in goal).

So your saying its the managers fault, thats not what I wanted to hear.

People said that I'd never sell Liffey for 5m..and guess what happened? ;)
centremid - it's never the manager's fault - always the players' ;)

But I said he would get more.;)
He was up for his maximum market amount of 5m. After that it's a bonus. Had I done the estimated value he'd have been up for 3.5m. I call that profit on 500,000 econ spent on him a few years before ;)

roversfan, if you want to re-apply to take over an existing team then do and once one becomes available you'll be next in line.
Two of the lads haven't logged in so might as well give Rovers Fan one of those teams.

Got the first win there. Happy days.

Get beaten I'd say.
I'd be happy with a draw away from home, but hoping for a win obviously.

Not surprised I lost but my bloody keeper got a rating of 2!. Think I might have to invest in a keeper pretty soon.

 Definitely!
Buy a high skilled old one as you need to improve the average age of your defence.

I probaly won't get one till after our match because I need the sponsor money.
I was planning to go 6 at the back for our match but it won't let me.:p
More steel-y determination shown in the last 20 minutes to hold on tonight than the entirety of last season.
If we are to vanquish all memory of that season, wins like tonight are the place to start..Elisson in the Xpert Eleven than 4* match ratings and O'Leary scoring his third goal in 98 matches and an assist too..
Massive psychological win, but it is only one win..
2-0 up and Ragball rovers come back 2-2:mad:

Deserved it tho. Created more chances and hit the crossbar twice.
Not to mention my disallowed 3rd goal for offside!

Hmmm there's space in another league I really want to join. Will this league get the chop...?

Even if I decide to leave I don't think if I could cos I've built such a great team and it's going to be even better after 3-5 seasons. The only reason that I may leave is that my development is a couple of seasons ahead of the others so winning the league is not really a challenge, which is why I set ridiculous goals with myself like trying to concede no more than 6 goals and win all my games.

I know some of what you mean. It was hard to leave the Alberts, but there is always the desire to create something new from scratch. Why not stay in the league and take over a different team at the close season?
Lose both Alberts and UCD?
Looks like if we hold out long enough, we'll win the league by default if the top teams continue to self-combust (sounds familiar)..

Doubt I would do that. If I am to stay in the league it will be UCD cos I don't want to just put in the work building the side go to nothing. Besides doing that wouldn't be all that difficult, it would just take aaaaaaaages.
