However we've played better against not-as-good sides and lost
Were you playing 10 men though?;)

As soon as I sell Caj I get two suspensions in midfield...brilliant. Need to sell Donegan and those two young players by tonight or I'm down a bit of mula.

With Dolan and Elisson, we've been playing with 10 men often enough :p I am still fuming about the 1-1 draw at DBS.

Mr. Beard, it is not over yet, I'm putting everything into the home games left and leaving the away games for ME..so a win at The Empress..

Aggh. 85th minute equaliser, both us us having a goal disallowed and us missing a penner. @rse. Still in with a chance, but I still reckon we need two wins from the three, one of them at the Empress on Tuesday.

Not a good day to be away :ball:

Some great performances again, even Elisson and Valentia back into things - almost getting into the top ten all round ratings that Dman has monopolised and the third best midfield rating of all time. Now if UCD can do a job next week...

A win over "Jeykell and Hyde" Harps in the last game and we'll snatch a reasonably respectable 3rd place. 3rd would great given how sh!te we've been all season.

Had a weak team out so I'm not surprised. Enjoy next season in the graveyard:p

lowest rating ever, my keeper got a 1

a bleeding one!!!! :mad::mad::mad:
What was his form like? Is he moody? Greedy but you didn't use a win bonus?

Would a greedy player play that bad without a bonus? . I've had alot of greedy plyers in my time and even with bad form I've never had a performance that bad. His keeper must've had rock bottom form or very close to it.

Also congrats on the title win Dman - just noticed none of the other miserable f*ckers congratulated you yet!!! :D

Oops. Congrats again on your second, DMan. To be honest, I had thought you'd won it about a month or so ago:o

Thanks lads. Loftys pushed me for a good while which dragged it out a bit. Good thing though, made it interesting for the most part at least.

DP- it might have some effect. Greedy players will play a bit worse than usual if there is no win bonus.

LH- just checked your keeper and his last few performances have been terrible. His form must be dire?

DmanDmythDledge
06/07/2009, 3:03 PM
yeah his form is awful, current at 2 and average 2 for the season, he doesnt have greed or moody or anything like that though

he's just a disaster, if i had an all-rounder player i would have played him instead definitely....he's retiring at the end of the season anyway, so good riddance
You'd have better off putting one of the players that was on the bench in goals. Non all-rounders play to 60% of their skill so if they were in decent perform they would maybe perform to a 7 or 8.

Yes, congrats to UCD. Defo the best team
For myself, delighted to have stayed up.
Now can we do Bluebeard another favour?! Very very long shot! I'll give it a go tho and play my strongest team

Thanks WindmillWarrior, though I think it is fair to say that you made a fair impact in the Premier in your first year, aside simply staying up. It would be a miraculous today if we stay up, but the tibia of St. Jude has been procured and is being soaked in the blood of virgins even as we speak!

I didn't get a chance to log into my team yesterday so no tactics set, and I have plans later so I might not get a chance (can't access it in work) so the pagan rituals might be paying off.

Congrats to Dman, I'm relieved to have survived.

Three key players missing and then missed a penner at a goal down. Given the Provos result (thanks WW), Kennedy is getting the greatest boot up the hole ever:D.

That said we deserved relegation, we were too weak in depth, lost too many leads, gave away too many games by a single goal, and were appalling at home. I forsee a season of Sligo like mediocrity at best next season.

Speaking of, well done to Sligoman for running the league well - the fact that it ran without any great gripes or hitches speaks quiet volumes. Kudos!

Wexford Boys no more?

Bluebeard
10/07/2009, 3:13 PM
He's trailered it for about a month. I did the same back in the day. Maybe he feels he's taken the Boys as far as he can and fancies a new challenge, or wants to participate in a different league. Either way, good luck, and if he leaves the league, a sadder place it will be without him.

Personally, I blame -dfx for threatening him with a lifetime season ticket to Tallaght - could wipe out a league in a week with a threat like that;)

My rating dropped too low apparently. I still want in I'll resign my other tea if I can in the other league, I'd be sickened to lose the Boys, is there any way I can get them back? :(

Sorry was away for weekend so this has caught me out a bit.

You're xpert ratings has to be at least 95 if you want two private league teams, without buying VIP. You're on 91 so you're not that far away. You get points for logging in each day and writing press releases for your xpert side. Logging in most days and writing one press release a week would usually keep it above 100 but you should write a couple to get it back above 95 so you can rejoin as quickly as possible.

I was trying to do press releases for all 3 teams for the last week or two and I only managed to get as far as 93, I'll try do a few more, if not I might have to invest in VIP for a bit.

I splashed out on a 3 month VIP membership to get back in quickly. It's actually pretty cool, I like all the extra stats, and I have a 7 skill 22 year old keeper for sale if anyone is interested, he's got a special ability too which I can't remember at the moment.

25 teams now - would this be a record league membership? Certainly it is the biggest since I've arrived Two more could mean three divisions of 9, five would be three of ten! As it is, I wouldn't like to see more than 10 in a division if possible.

No just log in and set your team up a day or so before. A summary of the match appears about a minute after the time it was due to be played. If you have a few teams you need to keep your Xpert rating above 95 by loggin in regularly and making press releases, otherwise you risk losing one like I did, or you could just get a VIP membership which gives access to more stats and means you don't have a limit to teams, that's what I've done now.

Bluebeard
15/07/2009, 2:18 PM
Do you have to be present each week at a certain time to play your next match?

No, 'tis dead simple. Select your team, subs, formation, etc before the next game, and then turn up after it sometime (it is all updated in seconds once the game is played), and "watch" it.

You can't change tactics or make tactical substitutions during the games, but you can get frustrated and shout a lot or opunch the air / pineapple stu's dog while watching it:D

And then there is the p!ss r!pping:eek:

No, as far as I'm concerned that is still completely up for discussion. As I said in the forum on xpert if you or Philly have a problem with that I feel that it should not be denied.

Bluebeard

I would imagine that with the new numbers, we are going to have to re-organise a bit anyway.

If I have it right, normally that means the new divisions are comprised from the top down, assuming that the promoted teams are considered to be higher ranked than the relegated teams.

So, if we have enough to consider for a three tiers of 10, you are fine. Two divisions of, say 13, would see both promoted teams, the two relegated sides and third in the First all have Primera status. If it were three tiers of nine I think that it would mean that only the Lily Whites would be lifted.

As far as I can see, it is ultimately up to the boss man (Laurence of Albania;)) to make the decisions and he tends to be very fair and democratic with them, so I expect continued discussion for a spell. At the risk of appearing to agree AGAIN with Dman, I would feel that your thoughts on the matter would be important.

I don't wanna see anyone denied promotion because of re-structuring either though but it does happen at times. We've 27 teams now(28 if/when superfrank joins) so ideally if we could get 30 then 3 divisions of 10 would be the way to go? Otherwise, it could get complicated in terms of promotion/relegation from last season.
