Shane Robinson appearently was seen in the south mall in Cork today. Read into it what you will .
You can't go anywhere these days. Aside from the other possibilities you might well read into this it would not surprise me if Roddy has approached a player of this calibre and with that has likely demanded ridiculous money from Coughlan in order to do the job. Whats the chances Coughlan has also agreed to these demands?. Surely the players talked about in signing for Cork City are not going to be signing for small money. There's a good chance Roddy is luring players in with big promises. Its hard to believe anybody would fall for them but it seems he can still spin a yarn.

Roddy will get paid no matter what ,its what he does.TC will be spinning crap to Roddy who will be spinning more to the players and anyone who will listen with Cork being relegated two weeks after Roddy has walked out free to claim no part of it all and more than likely a payday .He is like Kate Adie you know your ****ed when Roddy shows up on the seen..........................joking Roddy of course ,you know we love you.

Anyone who joins up can get their long awaited view of Roddy's daughter, plus nephews, nieces, cousins and other assorted Roddy fans from up in D15! Enjoy!

Tiktok, you guys should be delighted with the drama. The most talked about club in Ireland are Cork City, with "Ireland's #1 Manager" and with "a genius" about to return for the third time. It's going to be a fun couple of weeks!

Other then Georgie, whats suppose to happen now? :(
Other then Georgie, whats suppose to happen now? :(Tommy wins the Lotto.
Pays off the vast quantities of people he owes money to. (even Johnny Taxman :D)
Then he announces planning for a state of the art stadium on the outskirts of Cork City.
Cork City with the Roddy the Plasterer at the helm takes City to the group stages of the Europa League.
Not sure what happened next, the alarm clock went off.
I'm thinking its just a waiting game now to see if a tax clearance cert/licence/winding up order is granted.

It takes it's toll. I was a fresh faced young man when this started, now I look like one of the Nazis [post-covenant opening] at the end of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
When's it going to start? Any hints as to what it may involve?

I'm going to guess that CCFC had/ are having their meeting with the FAI regarding plans for 2010. And the FAI have kicked/ are kicking the living crap out of them.

It's out now and I'm aware the texts are circulating so may aswell throw it up.
Formal offer to buy out the club and absorb debts has been lodged with Tom Coughlan's Solicitors first thing this morning. The bidder is clearly going to go public seeing as everyone already has the story, keep an eye on Today's Echo.

A silly question - but why?
Whatever about buying the club - but clearing those debts - the buyer will never get his money back there?

No, I don't think he will.
But the bidder in question is a creditor and is already owed a lot of money which he's unlikely to get back, I'm guessing his approach is that he may as well give a little more and have a club.
Debts overall are even bigger than people imagine to be honest.
The name is public on our forum now anyway, so Michael O'Connell is the bidder.
He's the person who bailed the club out to the tune of €220k when we were in the High Court on the verge of being liquidated [hence his being a creditor]. Yes folks, Frank and Irene were not the source of the loan, sorry to disappoint you.

If he's already owed 220k he's in a pretty strong position to force Tom out though no doubt Tom will want something for his "troubles".

The rumours around Cork are that Tom want €1,000,000 for his troubles.
Which is why you see his friends, old and new, claiming that he's put in €1m of his own money. I'd like to see him prove it!

Someone who used to work for TNB, Im sure you can guess who, reckons if he's put in 80-100k that'd be the height of it. Like you say it'd be interesting to see him prove it.

I would rather chance our arm in Administration then have that ***** get anywhere near that amount of money...especially if it means we keep Roddy at the helm.
I really dont like where this is going from a somewhat objective point of view. Does O Connel think he can make money on a LoI club? Especially if he buys it at the figure Tommy wants?

if your shreud and dont let your heart rule your head in decisions of course a club in the city the size of cork could be profitable but things never seem to work out in reality the way they do in theory in the LOI
Even if there is a new owner, surely it's too late to rescue a premier license for this season at this late stage?
Not that the FAI won't just fudge the hell out of it given the least excuse.

That's what he and his new BBF Rod have been spouting. A rumour doing the rounds of "compadres" in Dublin boxing circles is that a certain owner of a security company (and backer of the Hylands) is supposedly putting a few quid in the pot if Tom stays. Likewise a well known publisher (John O'Connor) and Roddy hanger on wants to back his amigo. This and his "Russian" investors should push CCFC into the Chmpions League! Now, if all that were to be believed..........

Anyone getting into Irish football and hoping/expecting to make a profit on an ongoing basis would need to have their head examined.
Irish clubs making ongoing profits would generally be more by accident than design, or else coupled with no genuine focus on on-pitch performances. Especially a club like Cork with no assets to generate non-match day income from.

CCFC Forum is adjusted so that CCFC related threads are not in view.
Just wondering had anyone else the same problem and i there something going on within the club regarding this?

All over the papers again today with the rumours across the tabloids!
Roddy wants to cancel the contracts of Dan Murray, Danny Murphy and Dan Connor and the club rumoured to be looking at their public criticism of the running of the club as a means to do this.
Billy Dennehy's contract will be cancelled today by mutual consent.
Quintas have made an offer for the club on behalf of a Cork business man.
Falls short of the €800,000 Tom Coughlan is looking for [ffs ]
FORAS are ready to come on board as "partners" it seems.
Could be a decision by the weekend with Coughlan willing to consider the offer.

Hello another legal case.
I assume the takeover has to go ahead by Monday week, or else the company (surely!) gets wound up and O'Connor gets none of his money back? I assume also then that he'll be looking to make profits of at least what he (and Revenue) are owed in the next couple of years. That'll seriously hamstring Cork's spending if so. Is it worth it?

It's a bit rich of Roddy looking to cancel others contracts, surely anyone with money investing in the club will make sure that he's the first to go, only cost 20-odd grand according to the man himself.

Why punish Murray and Murphy in particular? Both have endured 2 seasons of partial and in some instances no wages at all. All they did was speak the truth. I feel City's rumoured budget of 20,000 per month has something to do this and TNB is just looking for any excuse to offload Murray, Murphy, Connor and Dennehy. Notice how he is getting Roddy to to his dirty work for him.

Which you could look at as a sign that TNB is trying to avoid a repeat of 2009...

All would be on the top end of the pay scale at City, I think Dennehy is weighing up options across the water.
I understand City are trying to "cut their cloth to suit" but the players under contract deserve better treatment than this.
I wonder what Stephen Mc Guinness will make of this one.
Is it worth it?
Depends what his motives are.

Or......
Coughlan asks for an extension to the Winding Up order based on his reviewing an offer that has been placed for the club which would cover the revenue bill.
He gets his extension and tries to drive through to the licensing process, putting the pressure on the FAI to award the licence in the hope that he'll sell up allowing them to fudge the Quintas takeover in the Premier.
He then has a licence, doesn't sell and goes back to the high court with his new 'cloth cutting' budget and offers it as proof that he can generate enough income over the coming months to repay his debts.
He gets the ruling in his favour.
And this thread grows to 200 pages...........
TNB is all about Brinkmanship, nothing would surprise me anymore!
