Robbie should go in January but economics will scupper any such move. I'd like to see him move to Spain or back to Italy.

If he leaves Spurs again its hard to know where he would go. Celtic is a non starter, they cant afford his fee or wages. Id like to see him on the continent but wont happen... possibly a link up with Duffer at Fulham could be an option.
I do think his situation at Spurs is not being helped by the English media wanting Defoe and Crouch to get as much game time as possible in the run up to the world cup. I read something the other day about how he had to leave Spurs the last time because Defoe was keeping him out of the team then like now, when in fact it was Defoe that had to leave because of Robbie. That wasnt the first time Ive seen or heard things like that in the media. The more that happens the more the fans get on his back and Robbie is the type of player that needs confidence to be anywhere near his best.

Was an unused sub tonight against Man City. Even when Defoe was brought off in the end it was Jenas that replaced him. Could Robbie be on his way in January?

Thats called a defensive substitution!!!

Spurs winning 2-0 at tthe time with 5 minutes to go....no need for another striker.

I was surprised that he wasn't used at all...that was the point I was trying to make.

Wouldnt say Keane is on his way out just yet. Hope he will start some games again soon though.

i like how at the beginning of the 2nd half keane was at the end of the tunnel wishing every individual player luck (while everyone else sat on the bench) hes still acting like a captian i cant see him leave

In fairness this is an interesting time for Robbie. Its probably a case of how much he wants to prove to himself and the rest of the world that he can still do a good job at this level.

It may take an injury or Robbie hitting a good run of form but I still believe Robbie can do a good job at this level.

Had we qualified for the World Cup I think Robbie would be pushing hard for at least a loan move in January. As it is I think he will probably sit it out until the end of the season at Spurs and then take stock. In fairness to him I don't think there's been any drop off from him but Defoe is in the best form of his career and it was always likely to be either/or starting most games and right now that means Robbie is seeing a lot of the bench.

Earlier in the season it was Keane & Defoe but as Robbies form slid Crouch came in, that said I think RK will get a nother run soon because Crouch looks terrible at the moment.

Crouch caused a lot of problems for Man City the last night. He won countless headers and flicks that guys like Defoe and Lennon are thriving on. I don't see Defoe and Robbie playing together too often to be honest.

ya i thought crouch looked very good against city. terrorised them to be fair. Plus, keane and defoe just doesnt seem to work as a partnership and unfortunately it looks like keane is third choice. Id like to see keane up front with a big man like crouch though, maybe with carlton cole, kenwyne jones, kevin davies or even linking up with doyle at wolves

keane looking like he is in big trouble for organizing a spurs christmas party in dublin last tuesday, redknapp has being saying there will be "severe consequences" for those who took part. keane is said to be the one who organized the whole thing.

maby it only seems that way but is is just me or is robbie keane developing into a more pipo inzaghi striker as he gets older. he used to be like a playmaker striker under glenn hoddle but slowly he's becoming a poacher.

To be honest Im a massive Robbie Keane fan and I think hes just a brilliant footballer cabable of most things on a football pitch whether it be playing a killer pass or poaching like Inzaghi as u say.

Saw him in Coppers on the Wed lunchtime having a few beers with what looked like mates from Dublin.

Enjoy Celtic Robbie (if you were the chief organiser)....

Team captain, struggling for form, out of the side and your manager has warned the whole squad your not having a Christmas party this year. Not the smartest of career choices.

If the reports are true, tis pretty dumb from Robbie.

IF Rednapp wants him gone Robbie has made it that bit easier.

Post on read on another forum:

He [Harry Redknapp] was interviewed after the game today and played down his attitude last week. He won't be selling Keane in January. He said the two games since shows how comitted they are and that they did not drink much so he's happy enough.

Im not sure this story has any substance, what would Carew add to Spurs that Crouch doesnt already do so? Similar type of player

Your prob right Elroy, but just the fact that this is how Robbie is now seen in the premiership.....

Please God David Moyes takes an interest, otherwise I reckon Robbie could be on his way to Sunderland or Wolves or the like :(

Rumours of Spurs wanting to trade Keane for Carew. Not a bad move for Robbie.

Could see RK going to Villa but the Carew part of the deal makes little to no sense. The word on the Spurs street with RK is that he won't move in Jan but is likely to go in the summer.
More likely that Pavlova will go in Jan and Spurs will motor on with 3 strikers until the summer, safe in the knowledge that Kranjcar or Modric could play in the hole behind a lone striker if they run short.

Different players, but if Heskey is going there is no way MON will sell Carew as well, he likes the dump truck/nippy finisher combination.

Taking off the green glasses and being honest, If i was a premiership fan, any my club were linked with John Carew or Robbie Keane.....I would be hoping to get Carew...Sorry.

(did ye know there is a council estate in Limerick named after John Carew) :)

green glasses are well and truly off, for me keane is a much better all round player than carew.

keane is a better leader, better team player, has a better work ethic and has a better goals per game ratio than carew (total for club PLUS country)
Keane can play both up front and in behind the front 2 and he play in both positions extremly well.

Plus Keane is one year younger (not of huge importance i know) , would also say keane has more big game experience for club and country which can only help his team mates ....hence why he is captain of both his country and his club

Well thats my view on it anyway.

As for the move to villa .....wherever he goes he has to carefully choose...he is at a pivotal stage in his career, would love to see MON manage him but he cant go to villa only to be used in squad rotation , he needs to be a first team regular.

If villa cant offer him that then i would gladly see him go to somewhere he can get that ,i.e sunderland, everton as i rate moyes and bruces management skills highly

:(

If this is true.....It means that Robbie is seen in a very favorable light by a manager (Martin O'Neill) looking for a top four place. I'd love to see Keane alongside Dunne at Villa, and could see them both playing in the champions league with Villa either next season or the one after.

On his day Carew is a handful. Quality striker when on fire. No disgrace to go to Villa neither for Robbie.

If its a case Keane is moving, for whatever reason, I think Villa could be about the best move realistically available to him. He'd be by no means assured of a start every game at Villa either.

Depends what you are looking for. If it's a big target man with physical presence it's Carew. If not it's Keane.

Villa on paper anyway would not be a bad move for him as Spurs and Villa are more or less at the same level so it would be a move sideways really rather than down for him.

 cos he has been completley gash this year maybe.......!!

And people mooting Villa....on what planet do ye see him getting a game at Villa??!!! Ahead of who?? Agbonlahor? Young? Milner? I think not!!!
MON always goes with one big one small, Robbie aint big and he aint gonna get a game ahead of the 3 i mentioned!

Flashforward four/five months when Keane has scored a hattrick or goals in consecutive games and everyone is praising him once again. Check out the Robbie Keane thread for proof of this trend throughout his whole career.

No doubt if yap is still around here by then he will still have found some obscure reason why keane isnt good enough.
