Surprisingly no goal but a nice assist for Keane as Galaxy hammer Philadelphia 5-1.

I've noticed that a few times when I have seen a Lansdowne Road / Terrace / Place etc. in the UK a nearby road is called Havelock something. I think in other parts of the Commonwealth (Toronto?) places are often named after each in proximity. Has anyone got any other examples?
Edit: they both seem to have been involved in governing India during the colonial years. Lansdowne was also an Irish peer.

Lansdowne Road and Shelbourne Road were apparently named after this guy who was both the 1st Marquess of Lansdowne and the 2nd Earl of Shelburne. He was also Prime Minister from 1782-1783.

The Lansdowne Road in Luton is within a couple of streets of Cromwell Road. Whether it is named for Thomas or Oliver though, will no doubt remain a mystery to me.

I would reckon he is.
When I was living in Ottawa I could never fathom just how creepily familiar it looks from the riverside at Colonel By Drive as it does to its Dublin namesake.

1890Grounds are renamed Lansdowne Park, named after the Marquis of Lansdowne, Governor General from 1883-88, although the name first appeared in the Ottawa Journal in The Exhibition 1886.

That shot looks the exact same but the other sides are well different though, aren't they? I can't really get a good proper view of it all on google but the other stand in Ottawa looks far more like one of our old Landsdowne Rd stands!

The Bank St side now looks like a more modern West Stand from what I remember. As you say, Only the Riverside Stand looks like our Toilet Bowl.
They only finished it up the week I left last year.
The RedBlacks being on the road for the CFL season start for so long was ridiculous really.

Why on earth was James Joyce dressed up as a goateed Trotsky double at the Marian Congress in Lansdowne Park in 1947 though? Did he fake his death in the early '40s too so as to allow him to lead this new life of Marian devotion in Canada? And I thought he had very little time for organised religion... Hero my arse!

I went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron today - amazed to learn that one of the stunt performers was Robbie Keane - I kid you not. I immediately tried to replay the movie in my head but could not remember a scene where Iron Man/Thor/Hawkeye/Captain America did a cartwheel followed by a slightly awkward head-over-heels.

Quality, as per usual. Great guy to have in a team that creates chances and a team that can get on top of its opponent. How many international opponents can Ireland get on top of though?
Not a criticism of Keane, more a question of who he can realistically be effective against these days. It's not his fault we're timid and lacking creativity.
