would love to see him at Goodison but being that they have no cash, no big wages and Keane is a Liverpool fan, i cant see it happening.

Keane would have to accept a drop of around 20,000 a week if Everton were interested (Everton's ceiling is 45,000 a week at the moment and they will allegedly not break that for anyone). Mind it is worth a minimum of 40 million for any club to remain in the Premiership and there are only a few proven strikers out there with Premiership experience. I'm just surprised there aren't more clubs publicly interested in Keane at this time.

The betting odds on Keane joining Aston Villa have lowered and rumours, and I mean rumours, are that Villa may be interested. But as Keane won't live in Birmingham as well as his financial demands would surely mean this will remain a rumour only!

I have a funny feeling that when the dust from the January Window settles, Keane will end up going nowhere.

Had a touch of that myself when the Birmingham angle fell through. I hope we're both wrong because he couldn't be any more surplus to requirements where he is. 10 days left in the window. Plenty of time for something to happen I s'pose.

I don't think it'd be a tough sell at all. They're crying out for a striker. I really don't think the supporters would care who he liked when he was a young fella kicking a ball off a wall in Tallaght, or even the disasterous few weeks he spent playing for Liverpool. Spurs fans had no problem taking Gallas, United fans, for the most part, had no problem taking Owen (and even those who did put it to one side as he scored an injury time winner against City). Everton would be a super move but I've a feeling he's happy enough to stay where he is, collect his big bucks and hope that an injury or three gives him another opportunity along the way.

I don't think he's suited to Evertons style of play. He's at his best in a traditional 4 4 2. Ironically Spurs current set up is best suited to him but the players ahead of him deserve to be at the minute....

Don't worry, we feel your pain. It's been snowing here non-stop since November. We're covering it up to protect tourism. That thing with Aer Lingus staff? Pretext for closing the airports. The whole thing with the government looking about as stable as a gibbering lunatic driving a car along a plank balanced on a giant football on the edge of a badly eroded cliff? That's a diversion. I think we're stretching the limits of people's credulity with that one myself, but Brian's convinced it'll work.

How sharp can Keane be right now?? He's not played regularly for months on end. He'd do very well to hit the ground running at a new club.

In the cold light of day, its a 30 year old Spurs sub, majorly hesitant to move beyond London who demands 65K a week.

As great a servant that he's been to us - he's not Messi.

Noelys Guitar

Wolves did try to sign Keane on loan before he moved to Celtic so they know his wages. He obviously knows MM, played for Wolves previously and Ebanks-Blake is out injured. I can't see Fulham or West ham signing him at this stage. Staying at Spurs is a complete no-no as he will be lucky to make the bench for most matches especially if they buy Rossi. Give Mick a call Robbie.

I think if Robbie lowers his wage demands he would be a great signing for most Premier League teams. All he needs is a good run of games and he's pretty much guaranteed to score you goals at that level.

This is Arry who said he wasn't signing Pienaar a day before he did. I believe Keane when he says he never spoke with Birmingham but Arry is playing semantic games here. Spurs agreed a deal with Birmingham. Arry told us so. And it sounds from that piece he is putting Robbie firmly in the shop window.

Spurs have put Robbie in the shop window and accepted an offer from another club, but Spurs are not involved with the personal terms negotiations. That's a matter between Robbie and the prospective club.

Crosby87

But Geysir it is reasonable to think that he wouldn't demand something like 65K/W from Birmingham, no? While I agree players are greedy when they have the upper hand I also will allow that he probably is willing to sacrifice a little so he can play....

Harry was in Spain mid week to check out on some Argie looking bloke called Diego, who plays for Atletico.

Harry mugged in Madrid (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12257958)
The Spurs manager said he did not believe the muggers knew who he was.
"I just probably looked stupid or something, and they thought 'here's one here, he's not Spanish, obviously and we're looking for a foreigner'."

In this instance Harry has proven that he has good mind reading instincts. He uses those instincts to explain in a coherent fashion to simple folk, the motivations of other people who are out to get you.
I have no doubt that Harry is an able, sound and honest witness.

According to Birmingham City's Vice chairman Peter Pannu, Keane turned Birmingham down but Brum also pulled out of the deal. How can you pull out of a deal with someone who never agreed to one. Bizarre stuff. Stephen Carr was involved in trying to get Keane to move to Brum. The Sunday World is suggesting Keane will have to take a huge paycut (almost half what he is curretly on)to get a move to either West Ham or Fulham and remain in London. http://www.irishtimes.com/sports/soccer/2011/0123/1224288147556.html

In Harry's world, foreigners are not to be trusted.
Does it not strike you as unbelievable that Carr never mentioned Robbies' wages and his expectations to BCfc? It looks like Birmingham pursued making a serious offer to Spurs with that unresolved elephant size wage issue in the room. This is about the 6th time this has happened with Birmingham this season.

I agree with you Razor. The ongoing rumours in relation to Keane (and Stephen Ireland) are getting frustrating. I really don't care where they end up - Blackpool, QPR or Newcastle, once two quality footballers get to do what they are paid to do!

Couldnt care less where SI ends up, rot in the reserves somewhere for all I care.

Keane though is a completely different story. WHam rumoured to have made a bid today, not the biggest fan of that club but he needs a move and quick. He would fit in well alongside Cole or Piquionne (who i think is a damn fine player).

Goal.com (I know, I know, hardly the pinnacle of journalism)
reporting that the West Ham deal is done. West Ham will pay his €65,000 a week until the end of the season (£1.2m approx). If they avoid relegation, they have to buy him for £6m. Otherwise its back to Tottenham and we start this saga again.
Said his goodbyes at training apparently. Best of luck to him.

I assume he'd be eligible for the Notts Forest game on Sunday.

I think he'll do OK. He is at his lowest ebb in his career at the moment, but he has never really failed to score at any club he has been at. Even at Liverpool, which would have been considered a failed move, he sill managed to bag 5 goals in 19 league games, and he scored a couple more in Europe too. I think he would be looking at scoring around 5 - 7 goals in remaining 14 games if he does end up at the Hammers. West Ham have problems at both ends of the pitch though, they have the worst defence and the second worst attack based on goals scored / conceded, so I can't really see them staying up personally.
