I'm surprised QPR haven't been mentioned more for the sole reason that they are in London and are in need of a striker (assuming they don't stick with the same formation they used last season, which I don't think will be viable).
QPR arent spending money on players, they are look in at loans and bosmans. so that would rule Keano out unless he goes there on loan, which I doubt will happen as spurs chairman Daniel Levy will want to get a few bob for Keane as he is in the last year of his contract.
Quotes from Warnock re spending : I don't think I'll be getting any of the money, I think we have just got to look for Bosmans and look for shrewd acquisitions, loan players etc. "Try and do it on the smallest transfer fee outlet there's ever been.
"We'll be trying to survive on that and that will be another achievement."

they are loaded, their owners run Formula 1, but they're not ploughing the cash into the club

Not Robbie Keane related as such but from that Cosom's lineup link:
"Gary Neville is the greatest British full back of all-time and the finest defender to ever play in the English Premier League" You've got to love a bit of American hyperbole.
I'm still hoping Keane will get a move, Fulham or QPR would presumably be his preference seeing as he's reluctant to leave London. Maybe a loan deal will be done if Spurs can't get a fee for him before the season kicks off.

Ridiculous. Surely they mean "greatest European"?!

QPR owners are trying to sell the club so are refusing to give Warnock any transfer money also club have a wage cap of £25,000 so couldnt see Robbie going, would be surprised if he went to West Brom also given his Wolves history.
Bolton need forwards as Sturidge and Elmander have both left and he could be a great partner for Kevin Davies.

Anyone else surprised and a little disappointed Moyes is not looking to get Robbie?
He wants Yak out, Saha is a walking cast, Vaughan is gone...........
Would make sense surely.
Didnt Robbie used to support Everton as a boy too..........?
Murfinator

Moyes has no money, he needs to sell to buy and doesn't want to sell. He'll probably wind up playing Cahill as a striker for half the season again.

If he's so interested in playing, still hungry, looking for a new challenge etc., why doesn't he buy out the last year of his contract and he'd be available on a free to a club. I'm sure he'd get a lot of interest as a free transfer than with spurs looking for 6 million plus. Or is he just happy to pick up his money????

can he do that without spurs approval?, why would they want to release him and get no fee?

Yeah, if he's long enough into the contract. EU contract rules have moved on a bit since Bosman. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport-old/football/2008/07/16/how-to-buy-out-your-football-contract-with-fifa-s-article-17-115875-20645881/
EDIT: it seems from that article that you have to give notice within 15 days of the end of the season, so it's not an option right now.

Warnock looking for a loan deal:

Can't see it happening, though. I'm sure Tottenham will want to cash in at this point and as has been said before, QPR have a wage cap which I can't see Robbie going for.

from today's Daily Mail (yes, I know): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2019980/Tottenham-use-David-Bentley-Niko-Kranjcar-Robbie-Keane-bait.html
That's pretty much it, no quotes from players, managers or agents. Not even a "source close to the club", so it could all just be filling space.
Ha, I hadn't seen your post here until now, but I'm just after posting something pretty much identical in the transfers thread on this story.

It disappoints me every time I log onto foot.ie to see the robbie Keane thread slip lower and lower and still no news of a transfer in sight.
Im also struggling to make sense of Robbie Keanes inclusion in the New York Cosmos squad for Paul scholes testimonial??

The squad apparently consist of Cosmos U23 players and former heavyweights from the world of football.

Posted an article on a potential move to Blackburn plus £10 million from Spurs in exchange for Christopher Samba. Read a bit like the usual gossip though.

I never have nor never will understand the furore over Christopher Samba - he's not a £10m + centre half, nevermind a £10m + Robbie Keane centre half.

He was on SSN last night saying he will definitely move this summer. He has never said he would just stay in London and when moving to the championship was suggested, he tried to be diplomatic but as good as said, I'm better than that, I know I am and there will be premiership clubs that know I am. He's confident he'll get a move anyway.

The Leicester message board is alive with this tonight, here (http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=75094&st=260), even though its conjecture at best, as much as I would enjoy him being here, he is still Prem player surely.
here (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2025043/Spurs-striker-Robbie-Keane-set-join-Leicester-City.html?ITO=1490&utm_source=footballURLs&utm_medium=twitter) and here (http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Tottenham-Robbie-Keane-3million-target-for-Leicester-as-bid-to-win-promotion-to-Premier-League-article784149.html) Some tweets on him also also which have predicted some signings, but not all accurately, so far this season, but a lack of contribution from one or two of the usual ITK lads on the matter thus far - a few reckon a £4 Million bid has been accepted and its up to the player to agree terms and even a few complete idiots against it happening, I mean what Leicester fan wouldnt want him? Exactly one year ago there was Mandaric at the helm looking to flog the club and an unfit squad under Sousa. Now they think they can do better then a 31 year old Robbie Keane, clowns.
Would be surprised if this one happened though. More realistic are the links with Cox on loan to Leicester maybe.

depends on what offers he gets in the PL. there arent to many teams left in the market for a striker, blackburn seems the most likely but they did buy goodwille from dundee. Jol dosent seem a runner at fulham, then there is QPR but they might not have the cash for the transfer and his wages. If it came to wasting away on the bench at WHL or possibly firing Leicster back up to the prem then we know we would all want to see him playing week in/out. Lets wait and see what happens....

His game would be far better off playing every week, even in the Championship, than it would be staying at Tottenham and not getting on the pitch.

Its in the Telegraph today, here (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leicester-city/8696759/Sven-Goran-Eriksson-keen-to-bring-Tottenham-striker-Robbie-Keane-to-Leicester-City.html) and someone posted its down to 2 to 1 on Skybet, but I havent checked that, some crowd called 'Fourth Official' on Twitter are saying its looking likely also, they have predicted several of Leicesters transfers this summer, but have also been wrong on three other moves. Others saying he will be a the game Vs Reading tomorrow - I guess that would tell a lot, if it happens.
I still think this is something Leicester woud break the bank for but Robbie may not be as interested.

Hard to know what to make of all of these rumours, but if it is true what do you guys think it will this mean for his Ireland career? I'd rather have him go to Celtic again or something I must admit, even though the SPL is poor. LA is a long way away and I cannot see him being mad about flying to/from Dublin for games all the time, especially friendlies.

Its a nice little earner. Keane has always and will always want to play for Ireland so I've no worries about him not wanting to fly back for game, he is the capt for goodness sake. Not sure how its going to effect his form, its definitely a lower standard but he hasnt been getting any gametime in england.

I expect he'll view the Ireland games as far more important than anything else he does - he's seemed pretty dedicated in recent years. Beckham seems to have had no trouble playing for LA and then Milan, so it's not like Keane should go backwards, and the standard there is higher than Scotland.

No question in my mind MLS is superior to SPL. I don't think the flying back and forth or the MLS schedule will be beneficial for Robbie but from a selfish level will be nice to watch him live next season.
Worried it will impact his desire or ability for Ireland though.
