Ashley Cole would consider a move to Birmingham City, according to Sky sources.
Robbie Keane - who has been playing with Cole at LA Galaxy - is also expected to begin talks with Birmingham this week over a move to the club, Sky Sports News HQ understands, which could persuade Cole to follow him to St Andrew's.

He could have a word with Darren O'Dea before making that decision. Link here - http://www.the42.ie/robbie-keane-india-move-3524097-Aug2017/

Considering how much playing for Ireland meant to him, and how much Tallaght means to him, it would be very very sad to think he'll play a final season in f'kin' India, instead of doing the LOI a good one and playing out the year for Rovers, considering he could have done the full season. The profile and attention that would have drawn in would have been incredible.
I mean I can't believe Claudine will be trekking over to Calcutta anytime soon.

I think Claudine could swap Tallaght for this, for a year or two.

If I'm wide of the mark here, I'll gladly take a slap on the wrist, but I'd bet my crumbling, ancient, heap-of-sh!t house in Drimnagh that Claudine isn't living in the 'Cairn at present anyway.

Someone was getting it. What made me rage more, which was probably the worst thing for Robbie, he’d pulled my jersey after I clattered him and he’d pulled me down toward him.
I pushed him away. He said something. He called me like a wee ***** or something. As he was running back, I told him he was ****ing getting it again....
...I swear, ****, I was like a bull now, I was going for him this time. He started talking to me through the game. Hand on heart, Robbie Keane’s a wonderful player. He doesn’t give two monkeys about Kevin Thomson – I understand that.
But he was ****ting himself that day.Every time I went near him I told him you’re ****ing getting it. Not normally many people get my back up. Some of the things he said to me, he made me rage

Couldn't agree more - he's been inactive a year now. Would have loved to have seen him do a year in the LOI and he could have still gone off to India after. Unless he's afraid he's completely past it and didnt want to be shown up so close to home?
Do we know of any other concrete offers he had?

There was a great video on here with all of his international goals up until that point, but it's not working anymore - http://foot.ie/threads/43943-Robbie-Keane?p=1705877&viewfull=1#post1705877
Grafter seems to have vanished along with the video.

I had asked previously about the possibility of Robbie turning out for the Tallaght hoops whilst hewas hanging about but I was informed by some Hoops' fans that such an act would have lowered his appeal to such depths that would threaten other possibilities

Graham Hunter (http://grahamhunter.tv/about/) has done lengthy interview with Robbie Keane. You have to pay for the entire thing, which is over an hour long, although there is a section you can listen to for free here: https://player.fm/series/the-big-interview-with-graham-hunter-1000063/robbie-keane-hunger-games
Balls.ie have summarised parts of it in two articles; the first is '7 Things We Learned From Robbie Keane's Superb Interview With Graham Hunter (https://www.balls.ie/football/robbie-keane-graham-hunter-interview-374793)' and the other is 'Robbie Keane Shows Class In Recalling Rafa Benitez Odd Treatment Of Him At Liverpool (https://www.balls.ie/football/robbie-keane-at-liverpool-374851)'.

According to Tim Nash (the Wolverhampton Wanderers correspondent for the UK midlands-based Express & Star newspaper), Robbie has secured an early release from his contract in India (which was set to conclude in March anyway) and is on his way back to promotion-chasing Wolves for the rest of the season: https://twitter.com/TimNash_1/status/948683533077315584

Watched the Kolkota game this morning.Robbie hasn't lost his instinct for goal and gee it was obvious what we were missing in WC qualifying. I had a feeling of nostalgia and loss while watching this game. Robbie was not working back to midfield as he often did for Ireland, probably a combination of age and humidity. It would be great to watch him regularly and where it all started.

Dan McDonnell said in the Indo today that Robbie is already cutting an unpopular figure at ATK after he took off home for a Christmas break.
This is a much more fitting swan song (if it is his last 6 months as a player) if he can manage a few goals as there is serious ammunition in that Wolves team and they're already fairly sure of promotion.

A Championship title to add to his League Cup and MLS medals would be nice alright, not to mention the prestigious Carling Nations Cup win of course.
Wolves are already in the process of adding cover for their main striker Leo Bonatini though - http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/11194410/wolves-close-to-signing-rafa-mir-from-valencia
It mentions in the same piece that they're looking for cover for Matt Doherty also.

His fourth goal in the last three games, and his sixth of the season. Positively Sammo-esque. :)

UAE could well be former Liverpool star Robbie Keane's next destination - as player or coach (https://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/uae-could-well-be-former-liverpool-star-robbie-keane-s-next-destination-as-player-or-coach-1.722029+)
Keane attended last Thursday’s President’s Cup quarter-final between Fujairah and Al Ain on invitation from Fujairah manager Diego Maradona.
Asked if he could consider extending his playing career in the UAE, he said he "would never say never".
"It’s certainly something that would interest me, of course. I always keep my options open. As I said, it’s a place I’m very, very used to," he said.
“I got invited to go along by Diego to watch the game. It was good to see him and he invited me for dinner. We’ll see what the future holds.”
Also played in the "Match of Friendship" game in Dubai at the weekend, a four a side promotional game for the World Cup which finished 11-11: https://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/pele-and-marcello-lippi-lead-football-greats-in-match-of-friendship-in-dubai-in-pictures-1.721940

Still amazes me that so many in Ireland questioned his abilities....
Legend of an Irishman
In total, Keane scored 126 Premier League goals for six different clubs, which ranks him as the thirteenth-most successful goalscorer (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/List_of_Premier_League_players_with_100_or_more_go als) in the history of the Premier League.
Keane scored a total of 68 goals for the Republic of Ireland national team over an 18-year international career, making him the all-time record Irish scorer. His 146 caps makes him their highest appearance-maker. Keane is the joint fourth-highest scoring European of all-time, and the only player in the history of world football to have scored at least one international goal in 19 consecutive years.[3] (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Robbie_Keane#citenote3) He is also the all-time top scorer in European Championship qualification matches. Keane was Ireland's top scorer at the 2002 FIFA World Cup (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/2002_FIFA_World_Cup) with three goals as they reached the last 16, and also played at UEFA Euro 2012 (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/UEFA_Euro_2012)and UEFA Euro 2016 (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/UEFA_Euro_2016).

Legend of an Irishman
.
And the vast majority of us here had the privilege to see him playing in the flesh. The term "legend" is bandied about so freely these days I would suggest he is something far above that.
Just think of all the joyous moments he gave us. His open love for playing for Ireland, which is so valuable a template for the next generation and thereafter.
Personally, I remember being a teenager and seeing him being interviewed while he was at Coventry. They asked him who he was playing against next week, and he hesitated before replying with the cheeky grin and enthusiasm which has never deserted him, "Eh.....I dunno.....but I'll probably score against them!"
A young man still marvelling at, and coming to terms with, his own, incredible, talent. He was a joy and an inspiration then, and remains so today.
That's how I feel about him, anyhow.

Simply calling him Ireland's record scorer massively understates his achievements in a green shirt as he scored eight goals more than the next three highest goalscorers combined!
