It could have been 1912, it means fcuk all when the last time was.

Its about the present. Liverpool will win this Sunday.

I'll stick with the glaring miss from Crouch/Kuyt/Voronin/Riise 55 minutes in at 0-0 followed by a deflection off Vidic's ******** in the 94th minute.

i.e. the usual.:(

mascherano was an idiot, he deserved to go from first minute he was more worried about chasing ref around pitch than the game. reina was poor for such a big man he is terible on crosses should have claimed ball for ronaldo and brown goals

torres was marked well by utd, thought utd back four looked very solid

i tought gerrard was brilliant when he was forced to move back into the midfield. he didnt get much help from teammates though.

as for torres, he was kicked up and down the pitch by vidic, ferdinand and brown and he was booked for asking for protection.it was a dicrace.

You wouldn't be a Liverpool fan by any chance? In the land of the blind, the one eyed is king :D.

Don't follow either team but I thought Gerrard was anonymous for most of the game. A couple of shots at goal but otherwise didn't contribute much and as for "kicked up and down the pitch", he got a few nudges here and there but that's what centre halves do to forwards. What are they supposed to do? Stand back and let him play? Didn't see him being kicked up and down the pitch.

Macherano was moronic. On a yellow and having seen his team mate booked for dissent, he goes and dissents. Stupidity of the highest order.

There wasn't one brilliant performance yesterday - Vidic and Ferdinand were very solid. Scholes and Carrick both played very well but Man Utd on the whole didn't have to get out of 3rd gear (even in the first half when the scousers had 11 on the field). Liverpool don't have the players to mount a challenge for the PL and I hope SKY drop this tag of big four from now on. Liverpool are miles behind Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd when it comes to the PL. They are a good cup side (as they prove in Europe every few weeks) but they are as far away from mounting a real title challenge as they were last year IMO.

Liverpool are now nothing more than a decent cup side. Life is good.

Gerrard was his usual self in Man Utd-Liverpool games- once again outshone by Paul Scholes, who is still the best English centre mid. Ferdinand and Vidic made sure that Torres has done nothing in 180 minutes of football against Man Utd.

Mascherano was a complete fool- as Quieroz said he was asking for trouble. Benitez is a **** for complaining about the ref without even asking him what the second yellow was for.

I think the red was right but my problem with it is why doesnt Terry Essen rooney ronaldo ferdinand etc etc get booked when they do far worse. Still stupid out of the player he was warned.

There is a victim mentality at liverpool the refs are out to get them now  They got a small taste of what every other club puts up with week in week out from refs and had a spa attack.

Poor bluff moves today then saying torres is out injured whats the bets he makes a miraculous recovery just after the internationals !!!

Well, English players get away with murder from referees. It's generally the foreign players that are scapegoated by referees.

Yea coz that makes sense keep your best players out of an important game 8 days before you play liverpool to trick them !!!! Yea thats the same as pulling your player out of a pointless international friendly with sore ribs and a sore ankle while whinging that your players need protection from the refs after the kicking he got against UTD.

They are waiting on a scan on Cahill but they reckon his season is over. There is nothing wrong with Torres its just that whinging moaning Rafa trying to make a point.

God ye must be getting embarressed by him at this stage with his constant bitching & moaning

"The people's club" Yes Mr Moyes, indeed.

Indeed.

Benitez is a joke and an embarassment after every single game. He seems to be the only left that thinks Mascherano shouldn't have been sent off.

He has continually proved to be a clueless classless buffoon witness his "small club" comment after the anfield derby last year or his "lescott dived" comment this season. There are a million reasons for wanting to beat liverpool but to see him squirm is up there with the very best.

Compare that to Moyes after yet another woeful refereeing decision cost us points at the weekend, he still preferred to talk about his own team.

That is difference between the two, moyes will always want to talk about his own team first whereas benitez will try to blame anything to deflect away from his and his own team's failings

26/03/2008, 11:12 AM
The Lescott is a diver ( from a manager of a team with Gerrard in it !!) comment just shows him as dumb, but the constant moaning now is hillarious if its not the refs fault its the owners fault or remember when he said the other team did nt let us play !!!!! the man is an embarresment if i was a red id want him gone as a blue i hope he stays forever :D

Spot on. Wayne Rooney is the worst I've ever seen. He calls every ref a pr#ck every game. Just watch any close up of him. The FA seem to ignore their own foul mouth verbally disgusting So Called Three Lions Heros, and come down hard on more talented foreign players, who only learn to curse from their English team mates to begin with..

Cahills out for the rest of this season and it remains to be seen if he can ever recover properly from this metatarsil break. With him gone Yobo and AJ major doubts its a big ask to get anything from this game. I see the team lining up like this.

............Howard
Neville Jags Lesscott Baines
.. Carsley Fernandes
Artetta..Osman...Pienarr
..............Yak

2-1 to liverpool with Yak and Torres x2 scoring one free/penalty from Gerrard Diving.

Poor performance just as i predicted. As soon as i saw Neville and Carsley in central midfield i knew they wouldnt play well.

The long season is starting to show on the squad Artetta Yobo pienaar osman all played injured yesterday.

It could have been 3 or 4 yesterday they where out thought and out fought. Shocking game not made any easier to watch by the ref it seemed like every ball up to Yak resulted in a free kick at one stage yak with his arms by his side turned around and the ref gave a free !!!! Carsley was lucky to only get a yellow but then nothing for Carraghers late tackle on neville !

Liverpool totally deserved the win. :)

Everton looked tired and performed very poorly. Couldnt believe how bad they were in truth. Thought the referee was poor but the game was a damp squib by usual derby standards.

I see Rafa has come out and slammed Everton fans for showing a lack of respect because they where singing "the babies not yours" to Gerrard.

Wonder will he now come out and slam the dirt ball that spat at Neville !!

I wont hold my breath.

Everton are a very tired side a long season 2 good cup runs its a small squad so players have had to play in practically all games and play injured ( Artetta shouldnt be playing at all ) with 6 games left i hope they can find one more burst to finish off the season. getting 5th and breaking the 60 points mark would still be a very successfull season.

I think that he is referring to the paedo song there Anto. The "baby" song has been sung at derbies before and nothing was said.

However, the Lescott and Carsley chants from some reds are nothing to be proud of and Rafa should have included that in his piece.

Why did blues smash up The Royal Oak Pub though. Its not a red boozer! Dont get that.

What songs were sung at Carsley and Lescott

I am not posting the words cos I dont want to get a ban. However, the Carsley one was about his disabled child and the Lescott ones about his appearance (Star Trek, Klingon, Elephant man etc references).

There is this one about the Yak but I think its harmless and funny :

His passport said hes 23, the Yak, the Yak
But he looks like an OAP, the Yak, the Yak
Hes rounder than a goldfish bowl
and he set up Fernandos goal
Hes big Yakubu, Purple Akis Twin

I didnt spot it but apparently Nevill ewas punched by a fan during the game as well as spat on several times add that to the songs you mentioned and FSW comments about respect is laughable.

This is Evertons responce :

He said: "Whilst we would never condone the singling out of individual players for vitriolic insults, it is a shame that Mr Benitez chose to ignore the actions of his own club's supporters.

"Not only was Joleon Lescott subjected to an afternoon-long barrage of quite disgusting and quite audible abuse, Phil Neville was seemingly spat at several times and was also punched in the back by a supporter as he took a throw-in.

"We have asked Merseyside Police and our Safety Officer to look into the matter.

Certain people on both sides need to take a good look at themselves.

You will allways get idiots fans at every ground supporting every team thats just the way it is.

But when you are in a posistion that you are a role model such as player or a manager you need to be a bit smarter Rafa constantly comes out with these comments that just fuels these people.

The two sets of fans will constanlty slag each other but its the only derby game prob only prem game that doesnt need to segregate the fans all though in recent years the atmosphere has been changing getting a lot nastier and the last one i was at i saw a lot of liverpool fans thrown out prob for there own safety as much as anything.

The managers need to keep these kind of comments out of the game it does nothing for the game or the reputation of there own club. It seems after every time we play he cant help himself having a dig the "long ball" "they wont let us play" comment the "small club" comment and now this comment about the fans. Stick to talking about your own team rafa you **** :D

Every time I have seen Everton on tv this season, it's been like watching paint dry. The match against Chelsea last night was so boring aided and abetted by a similar functional Chelsea side who could pass just slightly better. Their style of stopping the opposition play has obviously worked reasonably well for them but they SEEM to be totally devoid of any sort of flair. Not sure whether they created one decent chance the whole game and Chelsea were the same. I know that as far as Everton supporters are concerning (like all supporters), it's a results driven game and they are no doubt delighted with their season but as a neutral that game was like watching paint dry.

I didn't watch the game but to be fair to Everton, some of their more creative players were missing. Arteta and Cahill are big losses for them.

No Artetta No Osman No Cahill take 3 of the best players out of any midfield and see how well they play . If liverpool lost Gerrard Alonso and Macherano or chelsea lost Lampard essien joe cole . or Utd lost ronaldo scholes and hargreaves you see where im going with this.

Everton fans are far from a result driven set of fans after the win at Derby they where furious with the display the last 4 or 5 games have been terrible last night was a little better at least we passed it and went at them.

I enjoyed last nights game thought it was a good old fashioned physical game , but its at the end of a season everton have prob played nearly 50+ games with long runs in the carling cup and Uefa with a tiny squad which ment the starting 11 played in nearly every game Carsley for example has played nearly every minute of the season at 34 years old !! Its starting to show on the team now.

If you where expecting free flowing silky football you where looking in the wrong place.

Great result to finish off a good season all round, 21 goals from YAk !!! 10 for Lescott. And when you think that we played large chunks of the season with out Cahill and Artetta.

Secured 5th place with 5 points to spare Moyes needs to be given a big budget to go get who he needs in the summer and keep what he has.

Incase anyone didnt get to see it here's Jose Baxter's first senior goal he has just turned 16 ive been banging on about him since he was 14 another great talent coming through all ready signed up to Rooneys agent and had a boot deal with Nike since he was 14.

Good to see the kids getting a run out in preseason Rodwell looks a tidy player then up front Lucas and Agard are both quality strikers Kissock and baxter have done well on the wings. And another kid that came on O Kane aswell looks good. If 2 of them can make the step up this season it will be good i reckon Rodwell and Lucas with a few others getting a chance due to the ridiculously small squad again.
