no we had to change to 4141 this year coz rooney and radsinski left and we were left with bent ,dunc cambell and chadwick . cambell and chadwick have now also left
Why would they stay ? They look a the formation Moyes has been playing and know they ain't gonna get a start.

I'm here! Don't you worry. ;)
Everton will beat Palace at the weekend while the best use can hope for is a point away to City. The gap will extend to three which means Rafa will remain BeneathUs. :)

last year we played 442 with TWO strikers up front , when they left we had to change to 1 up front coz we only had 1 striker . i know its hard to understand for a liverpool fan .

First you said ye changed to 1up front when Shrek and Radzinski left and now it has only happened since ye lost Chadwick and Campbell, make up your mind.

no i said that we changed after rooney and rads left , because after they left we had only 4 strikers then i added that 2 of the 4 strikers left have now also left the club . i dont rate cambell chadwick or even dunc as premiership quality strikers so that leave 1 striker .

Remember, lads, we had 12 first team players out, against Juve, and we still won, god knows how we'd do with a full-strength side. :)

Will he?
After winning 4 games in 4 months, Everton have 7 games to hold onto a one-point lead over us to stop us getting 4th. With games against Arsenal, and the red-and-blacks to come, it's all over bar the shouting. Even if the Liver Bird hasn't started singing yet, she's busy warming up her vocal chords. A point on Saturday will move us into 4th, on GD. Everton are spent. The Red Army are about to take over. :) :)

I'd still be a tad wary of making such comments. Liverpool players have shown they can raise the bar in CL games this season but then go and put in some very sub standard League performances afterwards. God is good and Baros is suspended so Pool must be in with a shout, once Robbie lad doesn't spoil the party.

i cant see what she has to sign about about ye re season has been another complete disaster last year ye finished 30 points behind the leaders then spent 40 mill only to go an finish 30 points behind again this year .ye jump around at the prospect of scraping ye er way past everton who finished 17th lost 2 major player spent 2.4 mill and were tipped to go down !!

Rumour has it that Real Madrid are ready to loan out Danish superstar Tommy Gravesen for a year. If Everton reach the CL Grav will surely be eager to come back and resume playing in the middle of the park with the toffees. I for one would love to see him return. Everton are also reported to be interested in Robbie Keane following his troublesome spell with Martin Jol and co at spurs. Robbie would prove a great addition to the blues and it would be great to see him link up with Kilbane and Carsley at Goodison. Keano as we all know is a tremendous talent and given time David Moyes would surely mould him into an even greater player.

What a disasterous move that would be for Ireland. Mould him into an even greater player? Are you on drugs? Robbie would be running around playing head tennis as the ball is hoofed up and down the pitch. How could Everton make Robbie a better palyer if they don't even play football? Will you go away for the love and honour.......

again rubbish from a liverpool fan , maybe a move to everton would improve him the way its worked for kilbane or cahill moving to everton , or perhaps it would be best going to liverpool like babb and kewell collymore heskey etc etc .

ive been raving about this kids for ages , and the best thing is he isnt the best in the acadamy we still have the duo of hopkins and fowler to come through plus another 4 to 6 decent players , our reserve squad now has 13 under 18's in it

Yeah i have read and know a few people who have seen them and rate them quite highly. But i wouldn't look too deep into any reserve team players. If you look at the likes of M.Branch and Cadamateri who were outstanding at reserve level but didn't seem to be able to cross over into the Prem. too well.
I don't think Rooney ever played a reserve game for Everton ?

According to Sky Sports last week, the three teams that play the most number of long balls were:

3. Bolton
2. Man Utd
1. Liverpool

However, I do think that Everton will do well to finish in a UEFA spot next year, as I just can't see them keeping this form over an entire season without a Gravesen-esque player to push them on.

would you look at that looks like 4to the floor slagging evertons long ball style has embarresed himself yet again

well our midfield is mainly newcomers artetta , cahill , and osman its there first year in prem football and they are finally starting to click , it all depends if bolton can catch us to get 4th spot , but it still wont affect our transfer budget of 30 mill , considering what moyes done this year with 2.4 mill he should do well with 30 mill , plus the young acadamy players are unreal it will be similar to the situation utd had with all the youngsters coming through

What a result!! That man Duncan Ferguson once again. Three points at home to Birmingham saturday and we'll surely have champions league football next season at Goodison under the genius that is David Moyes. I won't get carried away just yet but this result is a huge one- both mathamatically and physologically.

Everton will drop points, the problem is Liverpool won't win all of their games. It's Liverpool's own fault, the amount of points they have thrown away this season is ridiculous. Even in victory last night, the amount of chances they missed was a joke. It's not the end of the world if we don't make it, the critical aspect of Liverpool's future is in the summer transfer market - who leaves and who joins. I'm expecting wholesale changes and a new Liverpool next season. Led by the best midfielder in the premier by a country mile - Xabi Alonso ;) You have to say well done to Everton though, although it's not over yet....

BTW, did anyone think that Chelsea looked a little jaded against Arsenal? I thought they looked tired and lacked the usual zip that they have had over the last few months. Especially Lampard and Duff. We're looking good with Alonso, Cisse and Hyypia looking fresh.....

Can't be far off Longford's back four thread now Liam!

There's no doubting that Liverpool will be a greater force next season. Xabi Alonso is a class act and could prove to be one of Liverpool's all time greats. However this season is all about Everton and David Moyes. It has been a real fairytale- a team doomed for relegation now on the brink of playing in the Champions League. It's essential we beat Brummies on Saturday- the win against ManUre will count for nothing otherwise (slight exaggeration there maybe!)

Well Benitez really messed up with his team selection today. This was a must win game, especially with Everton dropping points again as expected. Yet he goes into the game with Alonso 'rested'!? Not only that, but he starts the unbelievably useless and inexperienced John Welsh ahead of Biscan, starts with the inexperienced Le Tallec and also leaves Riise out. He also plays with 3 at the back, which has been disasterous for us in every game that he has tried it in the premiership. To really put the icing on the cake, he replaces the injured Baros with Darran fcuking Potter! A rookie midfielder for a senior striker?

As far as I can see, Benitez hasn't a bulls notion when it comes to the premiership. He just hasn't learned his lesson regarding his team selections and tactics away from home. How in gods name do you go into such an important game fielding such poor inexperienced players as mentioned above? Not by force, but by choice  What did he expect against a physical side battling for their lives in their own patch? His team selection and tactics were incredibly nieve today, really, really stupid. So much so that he has cost the club a CL place next season. It beggers belief when you compare it to his tactics in europe......At this stage of the season the team should be pushing on and throwing caution to the wind. This resting players is a load of ********, especially ones that are fresh and fit to play.

From March

Generally, Spanish players playing in England never settle. The reverse is also true. The cultures in Britain, and Spain are so different, both socially, and football-wise, added to the fact that many of the players can't speak the language, means they struggle to fit-in.

The same applies to the manager. He comes from a country where the type of game is so different to England. He prefers European games, which suit his selection and tactics. He constantly says it's important we finish 4th, then he rests key players for a crucial league game. What planet is he on?

Well, the neighbours got the 4th spot. Not that it's much to celebrate anyway. You wouldn't see us celebrating getting 4th. It got Houllier the sack last season.

Just like to remind the Toffees, that 4th only gets you into the CL qualifiers, and as yous can barely win any game at the moment, you'll lose the qualifier. Next season we'll be back in, and normal service will be resumed.

If Shels face Everton in the qualifier, Shels will be favourites to progress as they are the better side with the better players, up against a bunch of journeymen who can't play football. Ollie will be praying to get them in the third round. Everton will be the easiest draw for their CL opponents.

You obviously haven't watched many Liverpool games in 5 years, have you? Or is your view based on our semis against Barcelona? Probably.

No, you can't play football, end of story! How can you be better than us, having only won a handful of games since Christmas? True, you have no money, but if you lost a squad full of players through injury this season like us, you wouldn't be fourth, would you? You'd be somewhere around four-teenth!!! :D

Everton are already struggling for points, are already on the slide, and in a false position. Whereas we've got a load of cash from the CL run. So next season will really separate the men from the Moyes!!
