Ground not even close to full. Lucky for Rovers they could use Tallaght and weren't forced to go to the Aviva.

So the 1st ever European group stage game and they couldn't sell it out?

Out of interest, how much were tickets? Did they price them up a bit or stay same?

Stupid goal to give away.

I'm guessing the traffic is bad as their are so many empty seats.

C'mon rovers.

Nice cross by Ricketts, thought he should've scored though wasn't an easy chance

Limited enough single game tickets. 3 match tickets were €70

Does anyone know for sure if the empty seats are due to traffic, or was it not sold out?

There were tickets available on ticketmaster today so probably didnt sell out. They were 25e a head. I would have loved to go this evening but with the 6pm KO I had no chance with trying to get out of work and get across to Tallaght.

I would say traffic and the early kick off has affected it. Would say it will be much fuller by half time surely.

Probably Spurs Fans buying the 3 match ticket and not showing up tonight. This is Ireland after all, and we love England , not Russia or Ireland.

So long as Rovers got as much money as they could. Pity to see so many empty seats though.

any possibility people bought 3 match tickets and only plan on going for spurs?

I live in waterford and had the day off. I'd have gone up but I assumed there were no tickets left. Arsebags.

Attendance illustrates the paltry size of the Dublin football public, conurbation of over 1m people and the first group stage game in the city. a measly pony to get in and only 4 or 5k turn up, barstooling is an alibi for alcoholism and does'nt count.

Torn-Ado

Rovers have had a lot of possession but its hard to see them being able to break down Rubin in midfield or defence. I think a set piece might be their best option but who knows, they've been in this position before.

it proves the point I made all those weeks ago about a breakthrough meaning NOTHING for the League overall and a short-term boost at best for Shamrock Rovers. It looks like i might have even overestimated the Rovers boost a bit. Irish football fans are [insert expletive of choice].
