when did a loi side beat dinamo zagreb

We've also beaten Croatian sides the last 2 times we've face them
when did a loi side beat dinamo zagreb
He didn't mention Dinamo Zagreb. St Pats knocked out Rijeka, and Shels knocked out Hadjuk Split
I was wrong about Bohs beating BATE Borisov in the last five years though. It was in 2003.
Here's the list of countries LOI sides have beaten since 2006;
2006
Cyprus
Sweden
Scotland
Finland
Lithuania
(lost on penalties to Norway too)
2007
San Marino
Iceland
2008
Estonia
Latvia
Sweden
Wales
2009
Malta
Russia
Latvia
2010
Luxembourg
Israel
2011 (so far)
Iceland
Gramaerz forgot to mention they lost 7-0 to Randers in 2009 too

who is that your referring to.
cos if its you, your opinion doesnt count .
your opinion has no relevance whatsoever.
just in case you were in any doubt....:cyclops:
....presumably you will desist from commenting about any other club on the same basis ?
best of luck to Pats and Bohs today - hopefully two results that give them a decent chance of progression in the home legs

Georgia are after overtaking us in country ranking and are pulling away from us, but we are staying ahead of Moldova and Lithuania coefficient wise so far.

LOI sides have beaten Elfsborg and BATE Borisov in the last 5 seasons. We've also beaten Croatian sides the last 2 times we've face them
Seriously only Rosenberg of those sides wouldn't be beatable
We only got beat by a solidary goal to Elfsborg, 1-0 in Sweden.
Dinamo Zagreb are a different class to any other Croation side.
Shels or Bohs beat BATE in 2003/04. Belarusian football has came on leaps and bounds since then. To put it into perspective just last season they made the final 32 of the Europa Cup. They beat Everton, Anderlecht and drew with Juventus home and away.
As for our chances of progession. Unlikely. They must have at least 2 more gears to go up. They are mid-way through their season and only been defeated once in this season. They have won their league for the past 6 years and are well on course for 7 in a row.
Airtiricity sides have done well for the simple reason you are mid-season when Europe kicks off. if you reverted back to winter football you may see a change and not for the better.

As for Randers, not quite sure what happened there... But it wasn't Champions League... however if you want to cast up embarrassing defeats look no further than last year when the Bohs were dumped out by TNS.

It says on the UEFA web site the Pats game is on at 3pm. I'm guessing this is CET.

I know he didn't but it was years ago(was it 2004?) when shels beat split, and i would put zagreb up there as a fairly strong team. I think along with BATE those 3 are quite tough to be honest and any LOI side(or Irish league) would be doing extremely well to beat any of them.
Greamerz, don't take heed, Dodge has a way of using certain facts and ignoring others to suit his argument. :)
Anyway best of luck to both teams tonight/afternoon, hopefully they can take the advantage back to Dublin.

Losing 7-0 to a danish side on agg isn't an embaressment. I was pointing out that you don't always get the highest seed. No more/no less.
LOI sides have between higher seeds a fair bit. The reasons for it don't really matter.

I'm not defending the Irish Leagues European record, just my own club Linfield.
What other NI teams do or don't do in Europe has no interest to me.
I understand how the co-efficient works but I expect no favours from any team we can shape our own destiny but we just need a little bit of luck when it comes to the draw. Drawing the top seeds 4 times in 5 years of Champions League football certainly isn't helping though.
Incidentally Linfield were the ONLY unseeded team in the second round NOT to get beat. When you take in the context that BATE were rated as the highest seed of them all gives you some indication of just how well we performed.

I thought it was a fantastic result for Linfield last night, BATE was probably the toughest opponent they could have gotten, It's unlikely yous will go through but hopefully yous can catch them on a bad day and maybe nick a 1-0 over there, That would be some result
On the big one today, I just hope we can keep the tie alive for next week

I hope Pat's and Bohs do well today. My pessimistic prediction is 2-0 defeats for both this afternoon.

The only reasonable things you could assume looking at the stats is that pats are being fouled a lot and have had twice as many corners, but kazaks more shots/attempts on goal . This could mean that they are applying a lot of pressure, and the kasakz can't get near them quick enough and are committing fouls in the processes, but that the more clear cut chances have fallen to the kazaks....or maybe not :)

The updates are better than nothing. The later stages of the game could be tough after all the travel and lack of training. It'll be great if Pat's can snatch an away goal.

Pat's were in this situation in the last leg. As long as the tie is alive at full-time, they'll have a chance in the return leg.

2-0 will be tougher alright but if it does happen, I wouldn't write off Pat's on winning the return leg 2-0 and going to extra-time.
