Ldmc website will have all fixtures on the site from the 24th August. Or so they say.

Also there are two good articles on the leader today on the premier league. Interview with Boro manager saying he is not happy the way pre season went for them. That seems to be the case most teams i have heard about.

Pike 1 - Regional 1

Pike played for 45 minutes of the second half, and the old addage of penalties, came through, more chance of Ireland winning the world cup than Pike getting a penalty..

interesting start with the top teams all dropping points

Aisling were robbed of 3 points by two of the worst referring decisions I have seen in a long time.

Denied a perfectly good goal that would have made it 4-0 at half time, how can a player be off side when the ball is squared back to him?

Waved the view to play on when they were clearly off side, the players even hesitated as they were that far off.

I think the standard of referring around is the pits at them moment, the only consolation is they can be bad for everyone. Some of the decisions at the pike match yesterday were bizarre for both teams and this from one of our more senior ref's....

the only thing I can say in their defence is its a thankless job

The decisions changed the game alright but these things usually balance out over the course of a season. If we converted half the chances we created the decisions would not have counted. Alot of positives to be taken from the game. Not going to make any mad predictions but I can see AA doing alot better this season. Some very good new signings, a good preseason with Mike Kerley and Dec Hyde and a few x AA players returning also.

Good starts for the promoted clubs

carew played very well yesterday and fully deserved there win in fact it could of been more if chances were taking. as i said already its a very young carew team who are well able to play football i can only recall gordon making 1 save in the entire match. carew also without monty, wheelan, and ger tully.
next up another difficult game against the boro away.

Keith Power from Newcastle West.

Very poor performance at best, not a right Back,Seems to have a decent peg on him,but his footballing sense is lacking, and he will struggle to get on at centre back ahead of Purcell,Enright and McGarry,we'll be glad to have Paddy Mitchell back, really solid there last season.

You could see the fitness hitting both teams the last 15 mins,Davy Wall along with Purcell and McGarry played well for an average pike team..

What happened Corbally yesterday, they were expecting big things this year.

was at the summerville, corbally game yesterday.Corballys defence was terrible.young maher finished very well for the 1st goal but in saying that got way too much time on the ball.the 2nd and 3rd goal were like something you would see down in 3b.harmless balls that were not dealt with by corbally defence and summerville in fairness to them pounced.john shine was man of the match by a country mile.best centre half performance ive seen in a long time.. o donnell had a fine game left full also.corbally had a good 1st half but created nothing in the 2nd.they looked to be playing 3-5-2 and didnt suit them.can see them struggling if they dont pick it up in the next few weeks and definately if they dont sort out there defence.summerville could have had 6 goals on the day.A well deserved win for them. They will pick up alot of points at home this year.could well be dark horses.

they had a full squad dunphy was the only one missing with an ankle injury. yes martin wallace started up front with joshy IMO he looked out of his depth i suspose he cant be judged on one game mike carey had him in his pocket he was taking off just after half time for robert earls.

what happened boro sunday who are they nissing from last season?

They played well from the start but just seemed to die towards the end of the half or when we got the goal...We played pretty well and well we were all up for it....Think we definately deserved the win and a couple of corbally guys said that as well..Tough game on thursday night..Always a good battle with wembley!!!

thats a bit harse for a fella playing his first game with a new club in a new league out of position ... give him a chance to see how he settles and then pass judgement

I agree. I've seen Keith Power playing a few times last season and he's a good player. True it will be tough to get on centre half with pike but I don't think there's a junior centre half in the country who wouldn't find it hard getting on with Pike.
