just like to say I hope it works out for carew park, good facilities can only help junior soccer in general.
last year was conny's first season as a player/manager and won a munster junior, you can't argue with that.
With regards pike paying players signing on fees its highly unlikely as the other players would all leave if a few were getting paid. I remember they paid players about 10-15 years ago when Jaws was manager and that nearly ruined them as they signed aload of mercenaries who left the following season. The pike players that were there left and the club nearly got relegated over the next few seasons. I'm sure they've learned their lesson from that. Boyle leaving is shockin tho as its come out of the blue, I wonder are carew paying him! :D:D

its horrible to see the ldmc waste good money when theres a perfectly good pitch below in hogan park being wasted right now,why not redevelop them and save money?
All that said to my flamers,I've never said a bad thing about Carew
Probably drank by now if it was 18months ago...I could see it end up as Balla's clubhouse and pitch, one of the first in limerick...Burned down, drank dry,and left in a heap with the pitch in tow..
On a side note isn't Barry's field where they found that body last year??Campbell or something?
I dont think LDMC are paying for Carews facilities.
Also you say never said a bad thing about carew yet you said the above.

Those kind of facillities dont come cheap a descent floodlit all weather could cost approx €250,000 depending on size and dressing rooms like the one being mentioned another € 200,000 and the pitch as much as € 100,000 that all amounts to €550,000, the national roads authority most have an awful lot of money to throw around.

Just lkie to say looking forward to the Fairview/Boro clash this week. From what i've seen so far this season they don't seem to be up to much, possibly relegation candidates, along with Summerville who should be playing in 1B at most!

Ya i think the view will be much too strong for boro, they seem to be suffering second season syndrome after their excellent league win last year.
It seems that alot of the boro players are running like rats from a sinking ship. it would be some turnaround to get relegated after last year but i can see it happening if they keep playing so poorly.
As for summerville, they're like bolton this year. Lost a great manager who played a simple but effective long ball game last year which produced the 1A double while this year they're trying to expand their game under a very intelligent management team. But it doesnt look like its working for them

Your the one on here trying to put all other clubs in limerick down. And you wonder why Pike isnt the most popular club around.

He's been managing what two seasons??Done more in his first two seasons than most managers...Success it seems breeds hatred around Limerick...
And from what people constantly tell us,we're already hated..Can't get much worst, and the truth's truth,we worked long and hard in buying our own land, build ing our own club house and facilities, its horrible to see the ldmc waste good money when theres a perfectly good pitch below in hogan park being wasted right now,why not redevelop them and save money?

You are a Pike man so would it be fair to say that he inherited his team just like derick white did when he won the FAI with fairview and if Whites lead is anything to go by i wouldnt be 2 optimistic.

For his first season it wasn't bad.one or two more players and its good enough to win a fai I'd say.

Just asking, since when has the LDMC charged clubs for the use of Jackman Park? I've heard that Balla requested the use of the pitch for their Senior FAI game against Bridge Celtic of Clare, Sunday 30th Sept only to be told it will cost them €200. Are the LDMC forgetting that the clubs own Jackman Park. How much are Limerick 37 paying for the use of the pitch? Absolutely nothing, that's what. Its time all junior clubs in this town started asking questions about who has priority to play in Jackman. I've never heard of any club been charged. If anyone knows of a club who has been charged please leave a message.:ball:

The older crowd will always tell you that the standard dropped when Fairview won there FAIs - its debatable i suppose but i can see there points re a lot of the great Dublin clubs going senior league. If that pike team are good enough to win an FAI then it must have dropped again.1 player in my opinion would have gotten on the Fairview team of 97 and that is Mc Garry probably at left full - ye have a fella playing in midfield O Grady i think and he cant even pass a ball 10 yards.I have seen ye playing 4 times this season and yer back 4 will be found out.Very slow.Dont get me wrong i have nothing against Pike but i do find some of yer supporters a bit much.

But I agree its a bit much if they are training and playing on it, especially when junior clubs are asked to pay to use it.

Especially if the Limerick Junior Clubs own it and pay the LDMC player levys and fees already

Limerick 37 make a fortune off their gates and could afford to be paying something for the use of Jackman Park. The majority of local junior clubs on the other hand, are only just surviving to keep their heads above water and its a disgrace that they should be asked to pay €200 to use the pitch. I've learned that the LDMC want €150 for the use of the pitch and €50 for the groundsman. After asking around I now understand that the two groundsmen employed there are employees of FAS and are been paid by FAS, not the LDMC. So who's trying to rob who?
Another thing I discovered is that Ballynanty Rovers were one of the original clubs along with others who put together the £10,000 (Punts) to purchase Jackman Park and now they have to pay their way in there. Is this bad business or personal from the LDMC?

Ohhhh. Try and keep it to sport and not personal Green Hoop. Seroius stuff been said there about Balla and Carew Park. The difference is now a days with club houses, is that they are ran as businesses outside the soccer club and not by committees. Not that you would have the cop on to know that. Sour grapes I think!

not looking for sympathy, just an example of ldmc robbing clubs
2 years ago my club entered a u/17 and youth team. full year fees were payed in advance for both teams . due to cricumstances beyond the clubs control, both teams were withdrawn without kicking a ball..had one fixture which ldmc cancelled before we withdrew teams. Ldmc would not refund the monies and demanded that all youth and u/17 forms that had been registerd had to be payed for.. When the agm came around we recieved only two votes(a& B teams). ldmc stated that we only had two teams even though they charged for four teams.. money grabbers..

Absolutely a disgrace. You should have had votes for all registered teams. I know Balla had 5 votes even after their under 17's and minor teams were pulled out. If you ask me they make the rules up as they go along to suit themselves. Same as the new fee on Jackman Park. When was that passed at a delegate by clubs?

Northside Voice

Balla are not asking to play all their games for free at Jackman. The club only asked could they play their FAI Senior Cup game there because it has to be played in an enclosed pitch (FAI rules) and as Bateman Park is still not playable and the LIT can only guarantee fixtures on the Tuesday of every week, the club were trying to make arrangements for the forth coming game. The only time Balla played in Jackman last season was for the MJ Cup final and the Touhy Cup final, all of which were fixed by the MJC and the LDMC. Balla wants nothing for free from anyone but when the club ask for the use of Jackman they should be allowed to use it for free. Again it goes back to the question of who gave the LDMC the right to charge and when were the clubs notified about it.

:D:D:D
L37 dont pay to use Jackman Park but they are responsible for its maintenance and are paying for development, whether by FAI grants or their own funds or whatever, so L37 is contributing to Jackman park in a way thats arguably more beneficial than handing over a few hundred euros per game.
