Don't agree with you much Green Hoop but this is exactly what happened. Everyone can stop getting carried away with it. How that ref got a game like that last night should be the real debate going on here.
maybe he was the only ref with the b***s to do it ,who do you think should have done it,alot of ref's won't make themselves available for matches like these because it's to much hassle

No games fixed for during the week so he is suspended for the OT final, big loss, I think Mike Behan is also away on holidays this weekend

how could it of been 4-1 when the boro scored 2 goals in the 1st half???
as posted earlier by a pike supporter 2 superb goals..
from what i saw in the first half C.lynch and A.barry were giving you a lot of trouble...
if we had only 1 decent player wasn't a great result for you then...!
had to be a great result taking 3points plus no harnett or enright:D

I was at the game last night as a nuetral.
To me the Referee is not the best but the only glaring mistake I noticed was not sending Alan Barry off and that Ape on the sideline out of the field.
The penalty was a penalty and the two sending offs were justified.
Granted the lad is not the strongest referee but partisan fans on both sides have to realise that just because 20 people on their sideline call for a fee kick or penalty does not mean the Referee must award it.
The Referee made mistakes last night but you could name at least four players on each side who made as many mistakes over the 90 minutes.
Carroll was best Boro player but Alan Barry also tried hard until he lost the plot.
John Boyle was Pike s best with O'Grady also very good (imo)

Anyone know who scored in Balla's 2-0 win over Ashling last night?
What Balla team played?
Martin Wallace got both, dont know the starting 11 but I know Dunphy was in goals and Balla were missing Earls, O'Sullivan, Conway,Hickey and Crowley, heard Ashling were very poor that Balla could have won by a hat full.

lads in all fairness this is the 2nd time this year alan barry has fought with a supporter at a game happened when they played summerville aswell:mad:

28/05/2008, 4:53 PM
Nah that was a sub he too thought he could break his legs;) That was funny ref was even laughing at that no digs just barry following the ''hard man''
from what i can see if Alan Barry spent the whole 90 mins focused on the match and not the side line just imagine how many goals he might score ?????? and its just as well he does not play at a higher level it would be tough to jump into a stand to have a go a someone that said a mean thing to him!!!! he needs to grow up

was he a tall baldy guy by any chance i was at a schoolboy game recently and a so called pike supporter entered the field of play to have a go at a ref.this is not on and i hope pike are doing something in house to sort it
lads heres wat was said fact/ a so called pike supporter screamed for phillip purcell to SNAP ALAN BARRYS SHIN BONE THE NEXT TIME /barry said something back like watdid u say the supporter repeated hes horrowing words so barry said something back at which point the madman entered the field with fists raised towards barry, barry did well in not hitting him and iwas only 3 feet from this supporter iwas terrified cause my son started crying i had to move away any1 who was near will tell this story lads iwatch pike along time but cant condone this behaviour against a player who done nothing to provoke this and also it will be along time before i bring my son to a pike game just hope he keeps playing football after seeing this hes even afraid that a supporter can come onto the pitch to attack aplayer and get away with it

THATS RIGHT HE WALKED ON TO THE PITCH!!!!!!!! I dont care how many steps he took he was looking to make himself a name nd he did we called him casper cos he went as white as a ghost when barry walked at him. He like the rest of us thought some of the pike supporters would pull him back but nah like i said muppets
Your some Boro' fan, for such a "hard" man that Alan Barry is,he didn't get a single punch in. Its no body but Alan Barry's fault for getting sent off. Plenty of players on both sides were getting abuse. He as has happened in the past(and will surely happen again) reacted. And was lucky to get away with a Yellow, any attack on a outside spectator regardless of the circumstances is a straight red.
May I ask what your age is(mental or otherwise) that has you name calling people "Casper"...Really shows your level there.
Pike dominated the second half, not even sure if Bennis was tested, once they pulled level. They had a few great chances to make it 4/5-2 with Wall's and Boyle's two standing out in my mind.
Great turn around unsurprisingly for Boro' from their heavy loss recently to AA.

alan barry is hard i think every centre half in town will confirm this,he is a tough opponent who loves the physical side of the games.talk of landing punches is stupid, this isnt CBS school yard....

Fighting with spectators is out of order, even if your man was acting the idiot.
Fact of the matter is every player gets that sort of abuse at some stage and part of being a player is being able to deal with it.
Barry's a joke... Should be hit with a hefty ban.
according to tonites local Alan Barry is available to play this weekend

First of all there were kids were the incident happened, and secondly the bloke had his leg broke last year nd done well to come back from it so some f***ing fool roaring to break his leg is bound to p**s him off. He's done well not to batter him. As for you comin on here sayin he attacked a supporter nd deserved what he got cop yourself on take off your green nd white blinkers your a disgrace
never thought i say this to a boro supporter but well said u are dead right

In relation to the game last night. there are a lot of people that could point fingers and a lot that could recieve them. Most of the junior football in town is not a good advertisment for kids and that honest......
there are only a few refs that are strong enough to handle the big games, that will allow players talk to them and not be swayed.
Pitches that are not enclosed do not help either as most of the pike supporters spent most of the time on the pitch (a yard or 2) as with most pitches that are not closed. Maybe they should look at setting standard for the premier level if they want full controll.
Both were bad form, player and supporter. As said this is not the school ground and should not have happened. Plenty from the sidelines giving both players abuse, nothing new there then.
It happened. it shouldn't have happened, but what needs to be done by all involved and the ldma is how they can stop this happening again, ref, pitch, player v's fan...
now back to the football. Good honest effort by both teams with good football being played in patches.
Boyle was man of the match.

Christ not every player gets his legs broke nd then gets fellas saying break his leg after he's come back, its not like you getting abuse from the sideline saying ''go home you cant even pass a ball 5 yards'' or the usual you get ''your useless'' your the joke bud;)
Luckily enough i have never received comments like that. Fortunately its been more like, "jesus, what a player"... and "great performance again"
But ya i can understand where you're coming from...You must get it alot.:cool:
Seriously though, you cant honestly condone Barrys behaviour? Never mind the fan... Everyone knows he's an idiot
it's not just this either. I've seen him act like an absolute prik more than once. Prob a great bloke off the pitch, but on it is another thing

Lads, lets face it, yes Alan Barry is hot headed, but he is for me the best striker in town, and in all fairness (provoked or not) I dont think the incident would have happened if the Pike supporter wasn't on the pitch (whether it was 1/2 steps or 10/20 steps) end of the day, he shouldn't have been on the pitch.
Now lets move on........is Alan Barry suspended now for the OT final next week??? or do Boro have a game fixed in between....
alan is not suspended ,for once common sense prevails in ldmc.and also dee ryan the full back with boro played well along with glasheen in goal who made a wonder save in first half

Spot on - i was also in the vicinity of the incident and this is exactly what happened.I have to say the carry on of both managers was a disgrace and both an embarassment to there respective clubs.

Wouldn't agree with that point about Glasheen. From the Pike side I can understand how it may have looked good but the save was relatively easy. If its the same chance I'm thinking of the ball was hit straight at him.

the 1 where he got down at point blank from 2 yards was a super save early in first half with scores at 0-0

100% right he is a little light but quick and tricky and would walk into
any team in town outside pike balla and view and i'd say over a season
would be worth his place on any of those teams aswell, as for the game against desmond thought he was excellent on the ball and made some great runs his final touch let him down once or twice but other than that good a performance all round, very exciting player like i said already they'll need a tight grip to keep him

the top teams wont want him,the only team chasing him are wembley.his small and light, supposedly he only needs half a chance well he'd 2 good chances the other night and didnt take them.shane clarke,pa maloney and keith mcnicolas would have been better options i think

in fairness to tommy he didn't have the best game on saturday but has been very good during the rest of the competetion. scored in semi final, came on and scored against the guards in the quarter final and scored a couple during the group games.

i've seen a lot worse strikers playing premier football, and for the so called top teams than him,bit greedy but if he was with a better team with better players i reckon he'd learn a lot more rather than relying just on pace.
