You mean Charlie's way of running the club?
Charlie does not run the club...He is only the club treasurer..There is a good committee there that runs the club and we are gradually getting things together up there..The pitch we are on at the moment will hopefully become the 2nd pitch in the next 2-3 years so then we will have a decent clubhouse and a decent pitch and hopefully an astro pitch as well...Thats why its crutial that we try to remain in the premier as long as we can so we can attract some good players as well..Our bunch of lads at present are a great bunch and are doing there best to keep the team in the top flight....Its not easy trying to gear up for games after u get a hammering from some of the better teams but thats the price to pay...But we will plug away till the end of the season and see how we get on...All we can do is our best....If we can beat the teams below us then we have a great chance....Thanks Mr.Reality for your kind words..Is there a touch of sarcasm there or do u mean it??

just saw on another thread that the winners of the AUL this year win a week in Japan. A couple of weeks ago Kilester went to cape town or somewhere like that for winning it last season. Nivea sponsor the AUL league. I'm wondering how many players there are involved in the junior leagues in limerick as opposed to the AUL. Why don't the LDMC push for better sponsorship for the league.
that's a great question why isn't there a top sponsor out there for the premier division in town,it's a joke some of the fella's running football in town don't care and are festering up there for decades.corruption isn't far away up there either take a look at the allocation of international tickets by that shower,,10 to 20 for most clubs over 100 for shelbourne who put on a package inc transport no doubt cutting a profit,i'm prety sure it's a shells man that is resonsible for the tickets in town i wonder who owns the bus company, tip of the iceberg

every club in this country needs a so called charlie elliott, its amazing the way every club has one guy who does the bulk of the work is always the fella who gets the flak.its a a thankless job and the only joy he gets is on a sunday if his team win

Agree with you totally fellas like Charlie gain nothing from the work they do its an absolutely thankless job but there would be no clubhouses and no decently run clubs in town without them, Summerville are very lucky in that respect very strong commitee up there as do many clubs in town who are constantly trying to improve on a shoestring budget,

get it right ,it,s lisnagry that get all the tickets, they can barely field 1 junior team but see the need for 100 international tickets.but from what i believe since the new ldmc went in last year and realised what was going on they have cut it back

for what its worth in my opinion and what i have seen there are 3 worst teams than ye this year and think ye should stay up with a bit to spare.unlike other teams in the bottom ye do,nt seem to have a problem getting players to turn up on a sunday so on that alone ye deserve to stay up.

I agree. Summerville will stay up simply because of the bunch of lads they have and their will to play for each other. Pity the same philosophy isn't encouraged at the so called BIG GUNS...

I have made contact with Aertel over the last few days to try and get a "Limerick Junior Soccer" page on the "Local" soccer pages on Aertel.
They have made space for our page and just want some info to finalise.
They are looking for the LDMC secratary or Fixture secratary's details.
Name/Contact Number/Email Address.
Can anyone supply all 3 for each person? So I can forward to Aertel and have our own page set up on Aertel!!!!

Great idea, but modern technology and the LDMC do not go hand in hand. I think their philosophy is something along the lines of "change is bad".
At a meeting last year someone produced a projector to show some slides and it was ruled out of order by the LDMC commitee!!

It seems to me Fairview are pulling a fast one here...
Boasting about the players at their disposal on their BENCH
last week, now getting games postponed due to U18 players
missing? Very suspicious IMO if this is true..
Not just Fairview but it seems to me that certain
clubs can get games off easily when it suits them. Over
the course of a season every team will be missing players
at this level. Play the games when scheduled weather permitting
and less of the nonsense.!!

It wasn't called off because of missing players, Fairview did not want to have so many extra games played than everyone else in the league, so if they had lost the game they would only be 3 points ahead of Balla with Balla having 4 games in hand, that is why the game was off.
If the above scenario took place and Balla won the games in hand it would effectively end the chances of Fairview.
I think the same thing happened a couple of years ago with Balla having lots of games in hand at the end of the season and getting walk overs instead of playing the games and subsequently winning the league.
Not saying it's Balla's fault, just hope it doesn't happen this season!
Concept

I don't think that is a valid reason to get the game called off.
If you win you get three points, if you lose you don't.

If thats the case why did they leave it till Thursday night to get the fixture off instead of going by the rules and going up to LDMC on Tusday night when the fixture appeared in the paper. Sorry but that is a very lame excuse.

i believe there are fixtures for both weekends, however I also believe that the OT match is on sunday 16th March, so if your team has players in that you may have the weekend off or you might get a fixture for Monday

Lame excuse it is but that was the real reason, the LDMC called it off because of the the youth players they were missing but surely with the now massive squad they have they could have played the game

Very lame excuse, they had roughly a panel of 25 attend the Summerville game there last week, yet with 4 minor's missing they "claim" they won't be able to field a team(25-4 is 21 from my maths :O) I'm sure Balla were only too delighted anyway...A nice easy game against Granville to get over the FAI loss last week...A bonus for both sides I'd say

Lets be honest here.
This is making a mockery of the league and the LDMC
and turning the league into a farce. Shame on Fairview.
They have more games played beacause they are out of
most competitions. Nobodys fault except their own. It is
pathetic that they can get away with this. Most Junior teams have
minor teams as well who play the same day.? Im ashamed to be
involved with this behaviour in our league.
