Was told last night that Granvilles appeal v Corbally was actually down to the fact that a certain Corbally player was playing against them, when he should have been serving a ban, as he was sent off in his previous game.

I also heard that a Corbally player reckons that Granville have a great chance of getting the 3pts......

Any Corbally players on here like to fill us in?

Yeah, we need a minimum of 10pts from our last 5 games to have any chance.

I know all the so called bottom clubs hit a run of games when they meet the bigger clubs, I'm just stating the facts as to why we couldn't buy a win lately.

At the end of the day, I'd much rather be playing against the likes of Pike, Balla, View, Boro etc; than away to Bruff, Charleville, Shannon, and unless we pull our socks up and get some results we may well be doing that next season.

We have 2 big games coming up tomorrow & Sunday v Wembley and Granville both at home and a minimum 4pts is a MUST if we want to stay up........

Oh right no worries there..Just though ye were feeling sorry for yereselfs..We all have to go through it but i agree with what u have to say there..Much prefer to play the bigger clubs to be honest..I am relishing the fact we have to go to the pike field on sunday..Ah we will give it our best and see how we get on..Not expecting a win but u'd never know!!!Yes yere next 2 gaems will tell a lot boss...Best of luck....

was told during the week that the appeal is on tonight.so i suppose it will all be out in the open tommorrow.i was at the corbally v aisling game afew weeks back and darren hanley got sent off.didnt see him playing the following sunday against fairview so that would explain the automatic ban.sure after that all you can do is play away until the council call you up and decide if they are going to ban you for longer?i thought they were always the rules abbeyvale?ive seen that happen to many players before that it could take 2 or 3 weeks to get seen by the council, depending on when the ref sends in his report?as long as ive been watching football thats the way things it always has been,(get a red, miss next game and play away until your called to see the council)

From a neutral point of view and with all the different allegations going around that i have heard i think if anything other than this appeal getting thrown out is the result then it is a disgrace.

agreed but ithink ye will go down but if ye got nolly collcpy back for rest of season that would sort yer goalkeeping crisis but also think ye have the best side out the bottom 3/4 but that counts for nothing when you havent got the fitness and effort

how can anyone possibly predict whats gonna happen at the bottom of the table,u could make a decent case as to why any of them could stay up.

Relegation could come down to what kind of teams are fielded by sides wit little to play for, for example if u happen to play aisling midweek they have players who work in dublin, and are therefore unavailable midweek who might be available for a weekend game. Also are players who play for the likes of wembley or regional who work evenings gonna take time off work to play?unlikely, but these guys could be there at the weekend
relegation can also be sorted by so called favours as to can the top but thats life and maybe something for the junior council to look into/ like for instance top 4 finishers in league go into knock out rounds of fai/it would make league better and sort a lot of the favours out

I agree with your first comments, but I'm just telling you what I heard,
It may be different grounds that Granville have an appeal, but knowing the LDMC they'll wait until the season is over to make a decision hoping that it wont effect the table and it would be alot easier on them (ie if Granville are relegated by more than 3 pts and Corbally are safe by more than 3 pts)....;)

Again I agree, we have some decent players but there is a lack of committment at the moment that our manager is working hard on.
As regards Ger Collopy, he just has no interest, full stop.
He has been asked many times to come back and help us out, but to no avail.
We have a steady and reliable keeper in goals now, and we'll just see how we get on over the next 5 games, which will decide our faith.

what did you think of the ref last nite?

i thought he bottled a few decisions really. yere centre half should have walked in the first half for pulling back our forward but only got a yellow. Our player then got sent off for a similar offence and dont get me wrong definatelt deserved to go for it. just thought the ref should have showed more consistency and sent off yere fella aswell

I agree with you, but I think the thing that saved our player was that it was nil all at the time and it was very early in the game, so the ref probably thought that it would ruin the game.

When yer keeper pulled our player down ye were 3-0 up at the time, and it made his decision a lot easier, but I would honestly say that if it was level at 1-1 or nil all at the time of yer keeper taking down our player, I think the ref would have just given him a yellow.

Another facotor was that it was inside the box, so therefore if the ref gives the peno, he has to send the keeper off (or at least most refs do anyway) or else he's contradicting himself.

It was a good performance by ye and ye have some nice young talented players, but we were awful in all fairness.

in fairness the bottom four are five are poor!!star wil probably in all fairness go down now, no matter wat happens in the mornin!!
i watched granville against summerville and they completely dominated the game, they genuinely could have won 5 or 6 nil!! i reckon they'l just about go down!!if they'd showed that grit all season they wouldnt be down there!!

as for summerville and corbally for next season, summervilleman mite help me out but tell me where or how yer going to get stronger for next season, yer players are oblivious to any discipline like, ye got rid of martin earlier when ye were comfortably mid table!! Its a poisoned chalice i reckon, by all accounts ye,ve no decent under age comin through so we'r ye going to get players, after ye lose some this season, cyril is comin up to us at fairview, and without him and shine ye'd be gone down already!!

Pike haven't had a schoolboy come through in years(no schoolboys ofc) but we're still on top, whats your point there?Fairview haven't had a few decent schoolboys in a few years either. And I doubt Cyril will leave for Fairview, why bother when Buckley's a guaranteed starter?

And Martin was a terrible manager, It seems these days once you've played more that 45 minutes of Junior soccer you qualify as a Manager...

I'm sticking with my original predictions,Star and Granville to go down.

Well we are hoping to get stronger thats all i am saying....It was a mutual decision by martin to go..He was never asked to go and he will tell u that himself..He decided to go himeself...Any decent under age that we do have coming throw in all fairness is poached so there is nothing we can do there....Cyril isn't going anywhere and u are right if we didn't have the 2 boys we would have gotten relegated as these players are very good and we are happy we managed to hold onto them and hopefully they will stay with us as well but we also have some other decent players that have pput in a huge effort this year so to be honest its been a team effort and we have a good attitude towards all the games we play no matter who we play against

cyril isnt a centre half, hes a winger or centre midfielder.

and as to the schoolboys comment, pike and fairview have not had a good underage team in how long u say??that means ye poach yer team every season, its no wonder everyone hates pike with u posting here the whole time!!do u ever take off the blinkers and see outside of the green and white hoops??

martin has 5 or 6 junior caps at least, he didnt just become a manager, he took crewe to the final of an fai before the objection, and managed the oscar traynor team, to say that about martin shows how clueless u are about local soccer!

agree with most of above.martin actually captained the irish junior team.but you ruined what i would call a very good post with your comment about every hating pike.all the top teams go out every year and chase the best available players you might call it poaching where i would call it trying to improve year in and year out and staying at the top.and if yer schoolboy set up is so great then ye should take a long hard look at yourselves as to why yer best players want to go elsewhere to better themselves

Who's come through?in the last 3-5 years say?

Aled Harkin? Gerldines sorry,Christy O'Neill?Gerldines,Stuart Byrnes?Granville,Robbie Kelleher?Summerville, the list goes on.

What has Martin done trophy wise in his "vast" management career? He took the OT job when no one else around town wanted it and then proceeded to fill it with Carew Park players..And since when was winning a Junior Int cap got just about anything to do with management?

You("messi") really showed your colors there with that lovely "Blinkered" comment about Pike, its hardly our fault that players show some ambition and actually want to win medals is it?

And you've made what 4 or so posts already and your already letting rip about Pike..

Pike should have hit summerville for about 8/9 easily, complicated matters on occasion in the latter half of the pitch, tried to walk it across the goal line. Hartnett in fairness to him delayed leaving for a stag do in Liverpool to help out a depleted Pike team missing 3(not inc. the 2 long terms smackers and Jamie(who's off his crutches too))

Great goal from Wall too, strong header from the edge of the box,if only he played like today week in week out..

Rumour going about the Pike field this morning is Cyril is joining next season..

the gap between top and bottom was shown this mornin at the pike field, but for a few top saves by the keeper, pike could have won by 7 or 8.In all fairness their probably the second worse team in the league.
must be said though pike looked very strong.. its very hard to get the ball up in the pike field against them, even we saw that (fairview) a few weeks back!!

champagnes on ice i reckon!!

5-o and last kick of the game was the fifth,,pike are a super team and have hit people for worse than that this year,,we had a couple of chances and held our own in midfield, speculating about the future of summerville's captain
is stupid at this stage of the season lets play it out and see what happens.. plus messi 3 posts so far and all about summerville thats funny for a fairview man..another bluffer on the site i'd say

Can't argue with the result this morning...Pike played very well and had most of the ball and did damage with it...But the final score was 5-0 and thats it..I hate all this crap about it should have been 7 or 8...The keeper is there to do a job and he did what he could..Simple as that....We had a few chances ourselves but we ar lacking the confidence in front of goals of late but hopefully we will get that sorted....Big game next sunday for us against star..We win we are safe and thats the only result...On in the island though

fixtures up for this weeks mid week games?

And ya I'd agree with that,19 points should see you safe.Star need to pull out all the stops to stay up.Granville seem to have some fight in them, will be interesting to see the fight between corbally,S'ville and Granville.
