Mark Sheehan is the best left full in Limerick by a mile and deserves his call-up. He reminds me a bit of Joe Hannon that used to play with Fairview. By that I mean that you only realise how good he is when you actually play against him.

wouldnt go that far

What does that matter if he's not the best player Regional have, he is the best left full Regional have and in other peoples opinion the best left full in Limerick (OT Manager) and in other peoples opinion one of the best left fulls in the country (Gerry Smith) so putting your theory to the test, let say for arguements sake that Danny Galvin is the best player at Regional, he should be picked ahead of Mark Sheahan at left full because he is a better player??? Doesn't make sense does it.........

mark is a very decent player but the junior int side should be made up of the best junior players in the country and if mark is not the best player on an average side how can he be good enough to represent ireland.

Lads look, he has been picked for a provisional squad, give the guy a break and lets see how he does. (he may or may not even make the final squad).

It's very hard to find good left sided players at all levels of football. Mark is a very good left full and has been playing well for Regional and the OT team. A left legged player in this country has 8 times a better chance of playing for Ireland (at all levels) and obviously this statistic has worked in his favour. Isn't it better than seeing some jippo from Dublin being picked in his place!!

Don't think your getting my point, he is the best player Regional have at left full, so he is the best player in that position. He is also one of the best left fulls in Limerick, and now one of the best in the country, he was picked to play left full because he is the one of the best in that position.
So he would be one of the best junior players in the country at left full

mark got a all up to the j international side ahead considering he's far from the best player regional have, seamus o connell pobably had to suck a little d*ck to make that happen..

ya probably should be in the squad but not good enough to start , strange how he wasnt in as back up do. But then again if a team is struggling very bad cant see a ot manager been 2 interested in going watching their matches.

Yes i agree..He should at least be in the squad. There aren't that many quality left backs or left wingers out there..No harm to have him there as back up AT LEAST.Don't agree with u saying if a team is bad then the ot manager wouldn't be interested in watching their matchs..He could go along to one of our games againts the likes of pike and balla and see how the young fellow gets on againt good players...He would know he is good enough then.??Isn't there a 1a player on the squad??

that is absolute rubbish, he is as good a left back as i have seen around the country, definitly the best in limerick which is one of the strongest leagues in the country, he is one of the better players in a decent regional side that finished 3rd in the league last year, and on top of that he is a nice fella and im delighted for him.

Agree 100%. Great player and sound man. Captained regional from the time they started in 2A. Hope he makes the final squad.

i thought there were two 1a players in the squad.maybe the ot manager has seen some of your games and anyway does he really need two left backs in his squad.i was at the last ot game v clare,. there were four left sided players that i know of in that squad. ...mcgarry,sheehan,wong and brock..there could be more.

Pike Rovers 3- Granville 0

Bit of a shambles of a match, on my count there was 6 yellows and 2 reds.Ref booked the same play twice and didn't realise it was his second yellow,so 10 minutes later he realises and tries to show him a red card, which causes a riot with the granville players as the player it appeared refused to leave the pitch...so the ref leaves the player on the pitch and plays on...Luckily the second player red card'd actually left the pitch for his 2 yellows..

Otherwise a neat performance from Pike,2 from Hartnett and a missed Penalty, can't at this point recall who the 3rd scorer was..

why? ok they have a young side but are they really that good? I don't think they are to be honest. They won't win the league and are out of the munster junior and fai. people are just coming on here trying to put a positive spin on fairview all season so that they can try and attract players

Have beaten Regional 3-1 and Boro 3-0 in the league. Have yet to play Balla. Very unlucky in both defeats in munster and fai. The 5-1 hammering to pike was one of 3 miserable first week fixtures where the squad was all over the place (drew 2 lost 1). Since that defeat to pike.....played 7, won 6 drawn 1. True that a few more big fixtures need to go views way but still some good momentum building.
