Ya, he's training with us alright, but don't know if he'd make our starting line up.

I don't normally venture into the Junior Pages but :D :D :D

Agree Leather, a highly talented footballer who has been capped for his country at every level he has played at.Not many people can say that id imagine.Still one of the best players on the ball in town for my money.Just needs to get fit and lose a few stone.

it was signed last night alan
id say he will be played left full with johnny corbett and mike carey playing centre half. v good cover for centre half if carey or corbett picked up an injury. noonan also there for cover

Good signing then if thats the case.

If The Situation With Players Leaving Senior Football Going Straight Back To Junior Football Continues, It Will Ruin The Junior Game..wont Help Senior Football Either(player Burnout).surely If A Player Plays The Season With A Senior Club He Should Not Be Allowed Play In The Junior Ranks Untill The Following Season.i Know That This Is Caused By Both Seasons Overlapping But It Will Only Create Hassle And Lots Of Objections.. The Fai Need To Clear This Situation Up.

Shane Fitz is quite handy, esp last season on our run to the Premier, and Shane Madden should also be encourraged to play!

Are u on drugs Shane fitz has about as much speed as my grandmother
and she s 84 next week, any truth that ye lost a couple of players over the past couple of weeks when ye had no matches,

Been round the block a few too many times at this stage tbh,was quite a gifted footballer in his prime, the drop from Liverpool IMO destroyed interest in football. Was a great out and out winger in his youth. But if that small chance that he has an interest again and gets some bit fit,he'd be a decent player.

shane fitz had an awful season last year in 1a, tis true merryman.. he scored about 8/9 goals from centre half, they kept around 15 clean sheets in the league and he won a 1A double... awful season altogether he had...

also, tis true - summerville lost a load of players over the last couple of weeks - down to a squad of 8 players now.. go away and take your head oot of your ass merryman :D

sorry to be pedantic but he is actually 32, i think he could prove to be a quality signing if his interest is back would be a boost to any team, could be the difference in a tight game with 20 mins to go, one of if not the best players in town on the ball

dont know why he went back the boro in the 1st place.sure wasnt he a sub for nearly the whole season the 1st year o hanlon took over?i heard recently anyway that afew of the lads werent too impressed with his performances.he isnt the most workmanlike winger in the town and is always going to miss afew games every year from his love of saturday nights.meant to be a sound lad but imo he doesnt have the interest, isnt a great battler, and wont be too much of a loss to the boro team.cant see him doing much than benchwarming out in regional.

any one have any news on how pa moloney is getting on up in pike?he will be under major pressure to get a starting place with mc carthy back and also if they sign john tierney.you have 2 hand it to conny, they are 2quality signings to be bringing into a squad 2months into the season.cant see pa warming the bench up in pike.it will seriously hamper his chances of being "capped".i can see him back down the boro ina few weeks looking to sign back.

you must know him quite well because he is 32 since last Sunday - i agree with your later post that on the ball one of the best players in town for my money.

Dont know where your coming from that the drop from Liverpool destroyed him because for 3-4 years he was top class with fairview.

he did a whole ring of limerick clubs...he didn't play a patch on what he was before he crossed the channel, was useless for Pike when he played a season for us almost 10 or so years ago

Looks like there could be a bit of an exodus up at L37, heard from a L37 player that Tommy Barrett, Brian Buckley and Wayne Colbert will all be returning to Fairview at the end of the League of Ireland season which would make them a very strong side

so if all these players come back to junior soccer for the senior soccer off season. When the senior season starts again in March or whenever they'll all sign back with them again. Sounds like a bad thing for the junior teams signing these players to me.

Along with Kelleher and that would be a strong side.

If they do all sign, I'd fancy the View for the league.

Saw the view yesterday and I have to say it is genuinely the least talented and worst Fairview team I have seen in about 15+ years. Apart from Purcell none of the starting eleven would have got on the team of the last 10-12 years. They are young fellas but not even talented young fellas like Wembley for example . They are brutal up front and slow at the back and overall a very small and not very physical team and in the winter could really suffer. I say this as I guy just watching a match

good news for fairview.in fairness the view have been stripped of any half decent player they have had over the last 3 to 4 years for league of ireland to limk 37. what team wouldnt suffer after losing kelliher, buckley, colbert, barrett, rossi, heffernan,h arrington.if they get these players back and with zubie and higgins after going back they have a great chance of winning the league.

the same teams the view have..stripped...over the years,or maybe you dont think they have suffered.i dont see any of those players going back bar kelleher and given his fitness levels he is hardly going to frighten many c.halfs.

Stripped? It happens to most quality Junior sides!! Cant blame these players for having ambition!! You say it as if they were robbed!! These L37 players are only playing with the junior clubs during the off-season and will be going back to L37 when the season starts in March. It was in the contract of the three players (Colbert, Barrett and Kelleher) who came back from Shamrock Rovers. Its a bid to get them fully fit for next season as they didnt get much football up in Dublin :ball:

Fairview were brutal on Sunday but i wouldnt judge them on that, you could be right about them suffering in the winter as they are very light. As regards the team 10-12 years ago in my opinion there aint many players in town never mind fairview that would have gotten on that team.

id much prefer to be winning fai medals than being up in a "quality" outfit like limerick37 anyway.travelling the length and breath of the country and prob getting crap money for it.half the junior teams in town would give them a run for there money.you would swear they were down in cork city.

can anybody from pike rovers please shed a bit of light on the following for me.ive been told in recent times that pa moloney got 400euro to sign for pike, davy wall got 2000euro and derek mc carthy got 1000euro last season.pike people on this site will probably say that they are there because of ambition and because of pike being one of the best teams in the country and have a great chance of winning an fai (even though i havent seen many of them up the pike club in recent years).bit strange that pa went back up there considering he had a bad fall out 2years ago with the hoops.i bet the more established players up in pike musnt be 2 impressed if this is the case unless of course they all get paid also.hartnett, enright,mc garry are hardly playing for nothing if these players are getting paid.

Players get travel expenses thats it. Pa had a fall out with the pike commitee and Mick Noonan and rightly so. Pa played illegally with another team it was his own fault. Mick Noonan is gone now and a new committee. He enjoyed it up there the last time he was there, boro are gone to that dogs so he went back to Pike. Pike wouldn't pay players end of story if they did they'd lose everyone who wasn't getting paid simple as that. I know people might find it hard to understand why players might want to join a very well run club and team, play in big matches and challenge for the league every year. Excellent training facilities and superb pitch to play on every week. Yes I can see how it's hard to understand alright.

this has been said about pike every couple of years for decades at this stage.

Big players (or fellas who fancy themselves as big players) will go to big clubs, end of story.
