What happened in the aishling v boro game on sunday. were the boro missing players or something? Aishling have been struggling of late

I was not at the game myself but Aisling have been missing players since the Munster Jnr semi final, a little bit of feeling sorry for ourselves reflected in some of the results of late also.
A few players are back from injury and a couple of good training sessions of late have put Aisling back on track.
Still think its hard for teams in midtable to show the same interest at this point in the season, not fair on teams with something still to play for but it comes with the territory of such a long season?

heard boro were without 5 of their first team through injurys nd suspensions, if aisling get hold of a couple of strong mdfielders to win ball in the middle of the park i reckon they'll do very well next season too easily bullied against the big clubs this year
what boro players were injured

really agree with this quote . With the season being so long its very hard for mid table teams to maintain interest especially when they meet teams towards the top of the table who are at full strength and need the points badly. At least all the fixtures are being fufilled anyway which is a good sign

Was at this game..aisling destroyed boro from first miute to last.. Some of their football at times was a joy to watch..fair enough the boro were missing ado fitz, alan and john barry, dom fitz and mark purcell but aisling were missing roughly the same i think...star will have to watch players like Cusack,Cummins,Hurley,Murphy and Small very closly thurs nite if they think they can get a result to stay up

sorry shouldve been more clear on that-its conway that isnt a centre midfielder. Totally agree wit the idea that paul is extremely talented. He is one of the few midfielders in limerick that realise that you dont always have to go forward,u can pass the ball sideways or backwards-u might think im being outrageous but look out for it the next time u watch a junior game, not players do it and its so basic
thats right its so basic, but thats all paul does.he never creates anything or really dominates a game as evidenced by his performance on sunday even with hartnett gone from pikes midfield.

From the end of last season to xmas of this season we have lost nearly 20 players for one reason or another,

How about the new facilities ye were supposed to get? Any development on that front? That might help attract players

Yep, Pa Bo is still in charge of the A team, and I can garauntee you that we will lose the majority of what squad we've left if he steps down.

I've a question ..... for all the slagging Abbeyvale gets on here (most unjustified) would people rather see a club like Star, one of the oldest in town and steeped in tradition, play in the premier league
or some other clubs from miles out the county where the 'A' team is a glorifed training exercise to keep the GAA players ticking over over the winter like Charleville, Herbertstown and newly promoted Killmallock?

i've a question, would you rather the premier division was made up of teams with great tradition and a team not good enough for the division or teams that deservedly win there division the year before therefore getting promoted to the premier division, regardless of where they are from?

nothing at all to do with where they are from - I couldnt care if theyre from Mars. What I do have an issue with is clubs attitude to the league.
When it suits them they are real contenders, taking points off clubs and being really competitive ... when it doesn't suit them they roll over or give walk overs to other clubs. Its disrespectful to the league and unfair to other clubs, some might play them when they give a damn, some get handy games or walk overs. At least the likes of Star, Granville, Summerville are consistent, be it good or bad.
If your looking for examples try Herbertstown last year, top half of the table until Spring and then dropped like a stone and try Charleville any year they were in the premier

eddie hickey im told has been offered the summerville job for next season, if they remain in premier.
good one messi another summerville post from a fairview man
give it a rest, eddie hickey was a great keeper for pike but there is no
truth to that post there's as much chance of alex ferguson taking over
at summerville next year simple as that.

You're right. I've heard the Boro pay much higher wages. Ill have to ask Alan Carroll and the lads. :)
Was this the first time that the Premier has been all city teams?

wont be too bad if you get killmallock away in the first couple of weeks of the season, hate to be going out there on a wet day in feb. anyone know what their set up is like?? dromore should be promoted dont they play in bawnmore??
killmallock have an excellent set up ,do you want to play on horrible pitches in town where sometimes you have to tog out in your car or do you want to play where there are decent facilities and a decent playing pitch

exactly,i don't care where they are fron either but the fact is the teams you mentioned i'm sure worked damn hard to get to premier football and as with a lot of teams that go up found the going a bit too tough and like a lot of clubs in the city the players got sick of being beaten every week so pack it in,you see the list that abbeyvale provided of who left, its just lucky they signed enough at the start of the season, other teams might not have that luxury, charleville were premier for a long time before they went down a few years back, herbertstown were never good enough for premier

What ever teams come up deserve to come up and what ever teams get relegated deserved to be relegated.
I think the problem lies in the fact that there is a big difference between the two leagues.
Both leagues could be made alot more competitive if the seasons were shortened?
That or heavily invest in improving pitches

prob been said before but what about summer leagues. i mean with so many games called off during the season the way it is its hard on players to remain fully fit. even with training. same season as league of ireland.
dont they play that way in mayo or someplace
