This lad is Scottish what are we trying to do? He has played up through all their age groups if he wants to play for us he comes over no way we should be trying to chase him and unsettle him just like the north should leave Dunne alone .we made fools of ourselves with the lad from rangers last season by bringing someone in who clearly was in no way interested but wanted to stick it to the Scottish fa.

Suggestion unrelated to that goal - however time will tell if he is a big deal or not .

striker who is now a full back in rangers reserves I think a transition that has a real Irish feel to it! We seemed to jump in there two footed when his dad complained scotland were overlooking him. Left a bad taste I'm all for lads who feel Irish been brought in and we should totally make that clear and encourage it but this was just indulging a disgruntled dad. Be a bit like Cassidy at warlord been called up for England cause he was annoyed he didn't play in the euros and walked out

Johnston is the right size for us :) he looks an outstanding delightfully skilled footballer but probably is already settled into the Scotland treadmill.

My understanding is that Grealish is still eligible, correct? There was confusion on Matt coopers show last night. Before he gets his premiership move, Mick should sound him out, given the time elapsed since initial decision and absence of English interest thus far. It’s the perfect time

No, not at all. Once you've switched at underage level, and played a competitive game for your new team, you are tied to that country

He has used up his switch. He is not eligible to switch back.

I actually think once your application to change associations is accepted by FIFA you are then tied to that association. I dont think playing a compeditive game regardless of the age group or level is relevant

He is eligible alright. A big target man which is exactly the type of option we could do with and I'd take him if he can stay fit. Go for it Mick.

Didn't the north try to get Wickham on board a few years ago?

A Josh Ginnelly has joined Preston from Walsall, started out at Villa as a kid, and was at Burnley till 2018 after that.
21, winger, Irish name and Coventry born, where plenty Irish went to in recent times eligibility likelihood wise, no idea beyond that.

Worth noting from an Irish perspective that they have signed this lad and Jayden Stockley, who is a striker. They continue their propensity to sign lower league attacking players. Let's see if this provides any blockages to the returning Robinson and Maguire. Billy Bodin and Louis Moult couldn't get into the team in their places.

Not just attacking players, they signed O'Connor & Boyle as well. Hopefully Robinson will be more concerned about getting in a different team anyway, one a division up.

Well, that's where the Coventry / Liverpool birthplace difference comes into play Owly, more recent movement to the midlands city, an Irish name in Liverpool could be from 150 years back. In my theory with more holes than substance in it anyway.

It was the JonJoe element that got me thinking he had to be irish in combination with the surname. If he's third or fourth generation Irish, I would have been surprised to see such a forename. The whole package shouted Irish but alas not to be.

Liverpool is basically an Irish city, but unfortunately for us, with most of them it goes back to far. I remember working in Liverpool during euro 88 and the scousers went mental when ray scored. Could have been in dublin.
Someone did mention that there's a lad called liam coyle who is meant to be handy for liverpool youths that can play for us.

True. He has missed the guts of three years of football with knee injuries so even though he has just turned 26 he has only.played 70 odd games at senior level which is pitiful. Hopefully gets a clear run of games now at Ipswich to show some of that old underage man utd form

Fair play. Positive by King. Brennan knows his stuff so the more the merrier on that front.
Anyone know anything about Matthew Sean O'Riley for Fulham (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_O'Riley)
O'Riley is an England youth international and also eligible to represent both Denmark and Norway
Mentioned in this article (https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/bundesliga-jadon-sancho-callum-hudson-odoi-premier-league-transfer-news-epl-a8729736.html) by Miguel Delaney, as are Troy Parrott and Louie Barry.
