Goal was a cracker, beat his man and forced his way into the box struck it with the outside of his left foot and swerved it into the top far corner.

Remarkably similar to this one ;)

Just seem the goal on MOTD in glorious HD, great commentary for it, comparing him to the last left back Phil Neville
saying Coleman had score more in a (actually half a) season than Neville scored in his Everton career!!

Still on the Irwin family, didn't Denis have a son on Bolton's books in last 5 years? Played underage international football too... still in the game???

yeah, Liam. He's working for Manchester United as a host/greeter/personality at the stadium, and on MUTV
He's on twitter here: https://twitter.com/1liamirwin
I wouldn't recommend following him, comes across as a bit of a dick

Transfermarkt.co.uk name his current club as Stockport Sports FC. However, he's not listed in the club's first team squad on their website. Btw, they play in the North West Counties Premier Division.
Manager singing his praises in this, stating he should have had no problem moving up to league level.

That job title and his twitter profile to suggest he's content in his father's shadow. Fair enough, I guess.

Goal! Everton 4, Queens Park Rangers 0. Seamus Coleman (Everton) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the top left corner. Assisted by Ross Barkley.

So sound like another cracker, certainly not a tap in anyway.

Coleman's goal. Great feet from Barkley, avoiding a trademark Joey Barton tackle in the process, and a sweet first time finish from Coleman.

Just been looking at the shots per goal for goal scorers, Coleman's is 3.5 which is better than Suarez's 4.425, Rooney 5.9
Coleman's seems to be one of the best ratios
Here are some ratios form Feb, the best is Lampard with 2.73, only 2 others are less than 3.5, one is the same 3.5.
http://eplindex.com/26911/premier-leagues-top-goal-scorers-shots-per-goal-stats-analysis.html
Not sure if there is better than 3.5 so far this season, Welbeck might be but it depends how you treat his 4 sub appearance.

Lampard's figures are not so good if you exclude penalties.

Excluding penalties last year the best figures were 3.2 3.25 and 3.5 (same as Coleman).

Not sure where this is going but it will be interesting to see if he can keep getting the goals, he certainly has his shooting boots on at the moment.

Heard he missed one on the radio, put it over the bar IIRC but I didn't see so
no idea how miss able it was. He got the best user rating on Sky (7.4) but
Barry got their rating 9, they gave Coleman 8 as they did 3 others.

He should have hit the target but his shot missed the angle by about a foot but because it kept rising it looked like a wild muss, which it wasn't.

i blame myself for that miss, i gave him the armband in fantasy league.

i think it's fair to assume that he'd make most international squads on current form. exciting times having him and mccarthy at everton. as for gibson, he has it all to do - again.

Coleman's goal against Southampton was nominated for MOTD's goal of the month for December. There were so many amazing goals that he wouldn't stand a chance of winning even if he was English, but great to see him in the running.

Oh OK I have finally figured it out, I was looking in the wrong folder on my recorder and watching Saturdays show, no wonder I was having trouble finding the
Sunday games!! :embarrassed:

It's a new recorder and not as easy to operate as when I used to record directly onto my PC.

Still think Colemans was best, Oswaldo's was good too. Coleman's was from a tight angle with the outside of the foot.

I could have scored Suarez's.

Why Coleman must start against Tottenham

"He’s not made a single error this season which has put his teammates in an awkward position."

paul_oshea
07/02/2014, 10:23 AM
Does anybody else think that these injuries may have happened at the perfect time for Everton, bar some bad results they are now heading into the final third of the season with 3 or 4 top quality players to come back, giving fresh impetus to their push for 4th. This could be a blessing in disguise for Everton.

Charlie Darwin
07/02/2014, 2:23 PM
I'm sure it will be beneficial in that Coleman and Lukaku otherwise wouldn't have had a proper rest, but their absence also coincided with a hammering by Liverpool. Even a draw in that game would have Everton in fourth now. Good in terms of refreshing a couple of key players but bad timing.
