What position is he? Did you hear if he's full-time or part-time?

Central midfielder, decent player probably one of the better Galway players along with Lester and Jay O'Shea imo. Would be a decent signing.

attacking midfielder but can also play out wide on the right, he would probably be looking for a full time contract.

I'd say so. O'shea was the only one signed up for next season iirc.

I've heard that he'll be joining ye on a part time contract. I'd be very disappointed if it's true. He and Alan Keane were our best players IMO.

Gary Rogers is too but he's transfer listed .

I hear that John Russell will being joining up with ye , easily GUFC's best player if he stayed injury free.

Wouldnt suprise me. Cook has repeatly said we need to try and sign the better players from regional teams like Galway and Harps.

Longford interested in Curran, he could go on loan there. Also I heard they signed one of the Galway strikers. Informant didnt know name but it could be possiblly Glynn or Flaherty.

He only started about a handful of games, usually a substitute. He's definetly improving though.

For curran to go on loan for 6 months or so might do him the world of good. Have a feeling cooke doesnt rate him because he wont give him a run of games and that what he badly needs.

Very true. It would probably do him good to get some consistent, competitive games under his belt. The problem I find with Curran, apart from the Finn Harps game when he played great, is that the midfield tends to get over-run when he's in there. He just doesn't, as yet, have the same presence there as O'Grady, Ventre or Ryan.

Heard Curran has signed for Longford.

http://www.derryjournal.com/derry-sport/McHugh-to-join-34Blues34-today.4859056.jp

Other interesting news doing the rounds this week concerns former winger, Owen Morrison and ex-Finn Harps striker, Stephen Parkhouse, both players believed to have signed for Sligo Rovers this week.

Paddy Power, the club's main sponsor, have already opened a book on who will succeed McDonnell. Former Cork boss Alan Mathews leads the betting at 2/1 with Drogheda United's Paul Doolin available at 9/2. Other names listed include Pat Scully, Damien Richardson and Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cook.

St Pats are going partime so can't see Cook been interested reckon they will end up with Matthews or Brian Kerr. Not sure whats happening at Bohs yet but if they go belly up also the league could be an option this year if we get off to a good start as we will have a stable squad plus a few new signings , I am surpsied we haven't been looking at any of the Drogheda players Hughes would be a good signing.

Cannot remember when I saw such a turnover of managers, looks like only about a third of the 10 Premiership teams will start the season with the same manager as last season. For our sake I hope Cooke is firmly on board with us for the season coming up

Yeah Curran has signed. Confirmed on www.ltfc.ie (http://www.ltfc.ie).
It has no reference to a loan move? Is that permanent? I for one would love to see it as a 6month loan deal and have him back for Setanta Cup in August which would give Cooke:p more options with the tighter shedule of games. It would mean we could finally assess Curran if he was playing week in week out as well.

Longfordian

I don't know what kind of a deal it is to be honest just was told he'd signed, if it's a loan deal I'd say it's a season long one.

Lads, dont be getting ahead of yourselves. Nobody has signed yet. Fact Cawley, parkhouse & Morrison are the only players who will be joining us but at the moment none of the above can agree terms. So i dont know whats going on MC are tight on the purse strings by the sounds of it. Cook not a happy camper...
