Today's Mirror says that Rovers and Bray are looking for Trevor Molloy.
If this is the sort of player we're being linked to then something is not right. He'd bring nothing to the team.let bray have him.

But why was Burns replaced at Bohs by a new signing?
We should be looking at players who are far better than Burns was last season

Stupid post
Bohs have way more money than us, we don't have near the spending power they have, surely you know that? Sure didn't bohs bring in killian brennan, does that mean the likes of jp kelly and harpel sinhg aren't good enough for us? I'd take them anyway. You only saw burnsy play about 3 or 4 times this season anyway and he was just back from injury when we bet them at home iirc

Burns was a good player for us this season. As has been said though, he's a bit on the the slow side. We're getting rid of Pooley I think so we got a new starter in Oman in order to challenge for the league. I do think that Burns will be third choice unless he improves his fitness.
can someone post the list of players that have signed contracts for the 2008 season? Thanks.

It was a rhetorical question.
good man Feo, glade to see you have held onto a lot of your players, add in a few quality signings and sligo will do well next season once they keep playing the style of football Cooke had them playing earlier on in the season.

List of free agents (http://www.pfai.ie/index.php?mod=one&id=16380&PHPSESSID=a94079113873f6cf61e0e1d593fbff3c). Not a lot of choice[no, not Asien:p] there. Williams as back up to Brush wouldn't be bad. Although IF O'Hara returns then we wouldn't need him.

bring alan murphy in on trial and see how he gets on, surely all his talent hasn't gone to waste, he just needs to find it again, cooky could bring it out in him in the pre season. definatly worth a try imo. was one of the best players in the league a couple of years back when he was with derry, scored some crackers!!
He is unwilling to give up his full time job though Feo, so ye would have to offer him a part time contract !

Some website Pats have, eh?
Just goes to show how far we are behind in terms of professionalism off the pitch.

Amen to that. Theres an awful lot of moaning,
for the latest complaint:We'd never compete with that because i imagine pats have a full time webmaster, paid a lot of money for the site and for its maintenance and the club gives them regular news.

I don't really think that's the case at all.
With our club people tend to put themselves in positions just to give the impression to be involved. If they don't have the time to do the job then let someone else have a go. Just because people are prepared to adopt a name tag doesn't mean they have a divine right to be above criticism. In the case of the website there is no case.
It's all very well you Rory H defending but is there really a defence?
Get back to the basics - that's what I always say

I know I criticise the club too but just don't think this thread has anything to do with the state the website is in. We should be talking about this Murphy fella signing if he is, not complimenting the Pat's website.

Didn't think there was any harm in making an honest observation, if there is then I apologise.
I do realise what this thread is about, unfortunately it's all speculation and I personally don't like to speculate, I deal in facts. Sometimes the truth hurts and you well know but hey sh1t happens. Get over it.

I think there is a defence. The website is constantly knocked, it may lack a bit of content at the moment but apart from that it is sufficent i think. Maybe it is a bit basic but perhaps they have been listening to you........

technically a great player and maybe cooke can get him to play for the club as opposed to just turning up. could be great but cant shake the idea of him looking for one last pay day.Its a tough one trying to sign players but I've faith in the manager knowing exactly what he's doing.

Indeed the website has improved alot since the early days of sligorovers.com.It's just when you see other websites that you think about it being better. Rovers are currently not set up to invest 5k into a website. The one we have is grand - does the job - could be better but then everything could be better.

won't be much action in the transfer market id imagine until after the new year at this stage! just hope we can bring in some quality and try to break into top 4 next season, although im not sure if we will or not. it depends what players are here, we'll have to wait and see. can't see us being relegated though!?
