Vol au Vont. He'll fill the hole between midfield and the strikers. Expected to mushroom into a great player. Certainly gives you a great appetite for the new season.

I agree. A striker is badly needed. If Judge gets injured and Faz's form drops (or vice versa), where are the goals going to come from ?

what i the new strikers form drops?;)

Am I missing something - is a striker not a priority?

i think 2 not 1 is what we need

We're after a striker/midfielder. He's coming over on Monday to look around. Cook revealed who he was[by accident:D] tonight but don't think it'd be fair to say it on here just yet. Chances of signing him are 50/50 at the moment. He's the African player btw, not Brendell. This guy's not from Namibia.

Looks like you could be on to something there boo boy, going by what sligoman said it has to be him. Here is his profile from his time at accrington:

Name : Romuald Boco
Squad Number : 14
Date Signed : Aug 2005
Position : Midfielder/forward
Date of Birth : 08-07-1985
Previous clubs : Niort

Benin international signed in August 2005. French born he spent time with the Youth Academies at Lens, SC Amiens, FC Valenienne and FC Niort before being promoted to the first team squad at Niort. Made his International debut when only 18 and has now got 19 caps. In 2004-05, he also represented Benin in The FIFA Junior World Cup. Scored Stanley’s first two Football League goals for 44 years but then missed a good part of the season after being injured on International duty. Voted Stanley’s Young Player of the Year last season.

Sligo Rovers are pleased to announce the signing of Romauld Boco, a Benin international, recently returned from representing his country at the African Nations Cup in Ghana. Rovers manager, Paul Cook was delighted with the news.

“Romauld is central midfielder / striker – I didn’t think I’d get him, I thought that he’d be out of our reach but, thankfully we’ve secured him. I don’t want to put pressure on him, but I’m certain that the fans will see that he is the real deal and with the other signings that we’ve made, I believe that we’re in for a very exciting season.

“I’d like to put on record my thanks to the committee. They’ve really shown that they are determined to bring the kind of players in that will bring this club forward.,” he concluded.

lads if you look at it we have a good squad of players. We have a few versatile players. We have 2 players for evry position apart from a centre half and a striker. If we could sign a player for those 2 positions we would be in very good shape for the new season. I think with a bit of luck we could do very well this season

You have got a very good footballer in Rommy!:ball:

Always gives a 100% and a true Gent!

Sad to see him go:(

I hope he does the business for you and hope you have a Great Season:)

I will follow your Season with interest as I am sure will a few other Stanley fans

Maybe we could perhaps look at starting up fan bases for both teams on each side of the Sea?

Would be a good trip, I know a few people in the "DSC" might have there arms bent to go over for a game.

Cook might recommend a pub or two we could check out if we went over!
