Would be a bit disappointed if Boco left us for a club that wasn't a step up. In my opinion neither Doncaster or Accrington are any better than Sligo Rovers.

Mark Doninger signs for Sligo Rovers

Blyth Spartans can confirm that midfielder Mark Doninger has signed for League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers following a successful trial period.

The club would like to thank Mark for his efforts in his spell at Croft Park and would like to wish every success in his future career.

Cook seems to be very fond of him, good scoring record but could do a bit more box to box work imo

What are u basing ur opinion on..have u seen him play often?..im just curious as i havent seen him play yet.

Agree with you about Accrington but Doncaster are a Championship side with crowds of 10 to 12 thousand in a lovely newish all seater stadium...as much as i love Rovers i think that would be a step up plus im sure the wages are better.

Apologies, for some reason i had it in my head that doncaster were down at the bottom of league one,not the championship!Didn't do my research very well!

Well i've heard alot of people say "Boco is good enough to play in the championship", this could be his golden oppurtunity. It pains me to say this, but if they can complete a move, it might be best for Boco to join Doncaster for the good of his career, but otherwise i'd have him back :D You gotta admire Boco's commitment and desire for the game, I can't recall a game wehre he was dissapointing, he played every game for us like he had some special affiliation with the club. ANyone remember when we were playing Cork in the Cup and he came over 2 days before/arfter playing for his country in WC qualifiers ? thats the sort of thing you wouldn't see alot of players do now.

Mark Doniger and Paul Whelan signed.

Doniger seems promising. I hope he turns out to be a better player than Turner. I'd love if he was the next Wil Hastie.

He had a few iffy games last year including the Cup Final, having said that he always put in the effort, the LC semi final Vs Bohs springs to mind.

Russell as well as Donniger. Can that be realistic. How many new signings is that. It is very exciting but are we able to afford all of this? Anyway it is a good way of moving on from the Turner fiasco - finding a good solid midfielder who wants to play for us.

whats the story with mauro is he re-signing for us ??? another striker is badly needed and then we wud be well on our way. russell wud be brilliant if signs even if he has to spend a month or two on the sidelines.

My Guess is thay Iarla will be left back mainly this season, i dont know what the story with Keohane is

Thats what i thought but a Longford town mate insists that he's much better further up pitch..will have to wait and see...Almeida(fully fit!!) would be a great signing...any word on the Cass lad?..did you see him in action?

It must be a bit annoying for the Rovers website moderator when the national broadcaster doesn't even credit their article to the club website given they basically copied and pasted from the Rovers website.

Russell is on the verge of signing but the injury is as bad as was first said and will be sidelined for a minimum of 3 months. Sligo have agreed to pay his medical expenses to get his signature.

hope we sign him on a two year if thats the case, would be a shame if he left after a year if your gonna invest in someone who cant play for that length of time

thought the deadline closes Monday, but the champion said it closes today which i presume is wrong? im liking the squad assembled so far but still a few positions that need strengthening.. dont think there be any major surprises it looks like a toss up between a number of trialists, is Faz completely out of the picture?

Delighted if this is true. As long as that injury isn't too bad and clears up by the second series of games I'd be happy enough. He has a bit of quality about him that we lacked in midfield.
We have a decent squad now imo. I know Blinks and Amond are bound to miss a few games between them but Doyle can easily fill in.
Better than this time last year, even allowing for Boco and Raf's departure imo. At least we have numbers now and a bit more competition for places.
If Almeida and Peers can strike up a good partnership again we should do well enough.

Don't know, but he has a clause in his contract that he can't be transferred to any club that Sean Connor is managing.

In fairness to Donninger if he has a really good season or so with us,
rather than Burton reserves, he has a much better chance of securing a move to a decent English side.
