Wonder if Cookies going to put McT straight into the action up front with Boco, or leave him on the bench and bring him on later in the game. And hopefully Seamie does pass the fitness test.

It's in today's Derry journal that we've signed David McDaid from them on loan. He plays up front and usually with their 'A' team. A Derry fan on their forum said "Made a few appearances for our first team at the tail end of last season, looked like a good prospect."

Good opportunity for this guy,
Hes practicaly guarenteed first team football
(if hes any good) as we have no strikers.
With a good footballing premier Division side.
Good for Derry too,
Surprised other clubs werent in contact about blooding young strikers

Short article on new signings, never mentioned if McDaid and Richie are on loan or not, but sounds like they are.

Shelbourne and Fingal both signed 3 players on loan in the July transfer window. So the limit, if there is one is more than 2. Too late now anyway.

I thought the limit was 5 players on loan ?

just read it there, birmingham reading and southampton are the teams. We'll get a 100k compensation considering his age if he goes to any of the teams.

Birmingham, Reading and Southampton, aswell as 100k compensation because of his age, its a massive blow selling him but its helping the club financially.

Is he still not under contract for next season.
I thought he signed a two year contract before the start of this season.
If he does go and we receive compo we cant insert any clauses into the contract and could lose out there
Im open to correction on both points

450's good but there really should be a clause for international appearance and sell on fee.

About bloody time that they came in for him. How can a guy play two full two games for International U21s and still be playing for Sligo Rovers?. Good to see that Steve Finnan will keep the place warm for him for a year or two.

From what ive heard - he is happy with the club and his life in Sligo. He dosent want to go to a different LOI club and is not overly interested in going across the water. We could end up geting notin for him.

Ya i'd hate to have to keep a great player like seamie for money the club would only squander anyway:rolleyes:
If he goes i'll wish him the best of luck and hope that we get a nice fee for losing a great player but i'm not hoping he goes for the money!

I doubt redobit wants seamie to go just for the money either, but it is inevitable that he'll move on at some stage and its in the clubs best interest that they get the best possible fee, wheter they squander it or not is another matter.

Looks like Coleman will definitely be sold in January. Hopefully there will be a bidding war. Reading and Burnley are mentioned.
