Would Ange have been the one negotiating the contract though? He never really seemed a big fan of McCarthy at the time either so I always thought it was more of a club signing rather than the manager

His player profile has been removed from the Celtic website. Wonder have they paid off his final year to make him a free agent.

I don't think Ange had anything to do with the McCarthy signing, it was an upstairs signing I believe, Ange was only just in the door at the time.

It's notable that in every previous window we've heard the manager talking about him being on the way out or available to go, but nothing this summer. Presumably they've given up any hope of getting anyone to take him off their hands.
