As Longfordian says it's all about the money. If the wages are good then it's certainly not implausible.

Unless Limerick plan on topping the two grand a week Rovers have offered I'd say it's fairly implausible.

Is that the kind of money Rovers would be paying the better players or is that an exception ?just out of interest!!

It's only 2 grand a week in the off-season I believe. 5 grand a week is what he'll be paid during the season.

If only we could afford that kind of money. Next season is simple, dundalk sign or pay transfer fees for their squad and the rest of us compete for the leftovers. Form and luck with injuries play a part so next season is still up for grabs Imo

No, Connolly would only be a squad player.

My worry is now that Pat O'Sullivan reads this and offers him 4k a week...

And then goes on the pitch at half time and complains about how wages are too high.

Horgan to squeeze McGeady out at both club and international level?

Dave Mulchay, Gavin Brennan, Killian Brennan, Conor Ellis, Anthony McAlavey, David O Leary, Craig Donnellan, Lee Grace, Matt Connor + 10 Swindon youth players believed to be making up WUFC squad for next season.
Along with a selection of u17 and u19 lads who excelled this season.

He's decent enough but I don't think he'd be first choice there. Can play in a few different positions so a good squad player.

I remember a restriction a few years back of clubs only allowed to sign maximum of 4 players on loan, if the rules have changed on that it would be a very concerning development

Danny Morrissey to limerick? Had a great partnership with kilduff a few years back and was getting a few goals, but injury has hampered his undoubtful talent which is a pity. Would be a brilliant signing for limerick

Have always thought we should pick him up, especially since he fell out of favour. Would be a good signing and a fresh start for him. Still very young also.

Should not be allowed to have that many Swindon youth players. It won't do any good to young Waterford local players trying to make it.

Lee Grace has offers from Cork and Bray and I'd very much expect him to receive one from 'that club' out West. The only reason I see him going to Waterford is if it suited him to tie in with his Army career

I don't think they mean on loan. You can't have that many on loan. Since he has control of Waterford, he can move them across as he and the players choose.

Would he want to uproot his family to Eindhoven?
Shouldn't make a difference whether he moves to Eindhoven or Exeter but I'd say it would.

I'd forgotten he had a kid but from what I can recall he or she are only a couple of years old? Most Dutch speak English really well I can't imagine it'd be that hard to settle. You're only an hour or so further away than England on a plane.
Delighted we've kept our best young players (hopefully Ashe signs too).
Need a bit more experience now. Gavin is a great start!

Brennan could be a very good signing. He has something to prove after his disastrous time with sham rovers.
The big thing for Drogheda is whether the players will be full time pros.
Wexford have shown that an amateur set up doesn't cut it is the premier division.

Gavin Peers to Pats, not very impressed with that. Good news is that Ian Birmingham, Conan Byrne and Michael Barker have signed again.

PSV are in the group stages of the Champions League almost every season and win the Eredivise regularly. Why he wouldn't want to go to Eindhoven is the better question. If his choice is there or a lower league English team then it's a no brainer if you ask me.

Yes, If we qualify for the knock out stages of the Europa League. Dundalk have also put excellent contract offers on the table.

I'd agree a few more with good experience like G Brennan will compliment the younger players re-signed - fair play to the drogs for moving quickly to sign up their stars from last season - still a few more from that group that will hopefully be added over the next few days/weeks!

AFAIK the loan brought him to the end of his contract

Two good signings I understand they were both free to sign (Rovers contracts ran to end of season) so great bit of business for the Drogs, Purdy really came into it latter part of season - McCaffery (thought there be a few other clubs chasing him) scored some vital goals, P Mahon is putting a decent young side together as most of those re-signed average age comes in around 21-22 yrs of age! With the two Brennan's; S Thornton and possibly few more experienced lads staying in the premier div becoming more realistic.

His time with Rovers wasn't disastrous - he did better than many more celebrated players. He just chose to have a hissy fit when a better player came along and took his spot. He's a good player though and he'll do well at Drogs provided they don't have let any 17 year olds near the team.

Don't necessarily agree that a better player came along and took his spot. New boss just prefferred differenr system and players.

On local radio this morning it was said we have made some audacious moves for top players and have a big budget this season. One player being the top striker in the country at the moment. Make of that what you will.

Clarke is pretty obviously better than him on and off the ball, in terms of workrate and quite clearly attitude too.

I'd assume so. I've heard we are talking to a few Cork players but that could be them looking for better deals off Cork.

He was always excellent for Derry last year. Had some excellent showings for st pats but also a few mediocre ones when I felt he was played out of position as a striker. In fairness, pats centre midfield going missing for the whole season probably didn't help him.
Hope he does well back at Derry. i always enjoyed watchin him - he was surprisingly brave and aggressive for a skillful attacker.

He didn't play once as a striker for Pats, and his last decent performance was in April.
Might do well back in Derry but was extremely poor for Pats
