Bray have been speaking with a number of players, Christy Fagan being their no. 1 target but looking likely he will end up at Dundalk from what i've heard.

I've heard that the Akinade deal to Sligo has fallen through. Anyone in Sligo hear this?
Surely you're not suggesting they've thrown the towel in?

Nah Nah Nah Nah

Yeah that was rumoured last week. About a day after the Mirror exclusive.

And it's back on again supposedly

Dundalk is closer and they'd likely pay him more though.

Kenny hardly wants to be taking in part-time players now when the club is looking to progress onto the next level though? Would love to see him at Harps but don't think he'd fancy coming up and down from Belfast for a pittance of a wage.

Conor McCormack saying that it's being more difficult to live off his sterling wages whilst living in the south. I'd say he has a point, alright. Maybe we could just go back to paying players in euro? It'll certainly have an effect on our ability to attract southern players next season though.

Here's the Derry Journal article, if you can tolerate the ads: http://www.derryjournal.com/sport/football/derry-city/derry-city-s-southern-players-taking-a-pounding-1-7654818

Had been told we were after him but thought there would be no hope we could get him if ye wanted him. This could help.

That move was never on. He was spotted in Sligo on other 'working' duties and someone put two and two together.

Dont think they ever really played much due to some really good young players coming through at City.

That would seem a strange move for him. Why would he leave Limerick?

No, he was laid off when the B team was wound up. He's at Mochta's now, google tells me.

Yes Mochta's, a fair few more ex LOI players too including Glen Crowe and Philly Hughes.

Doyler's a good player alright. Strange that he left us for Shels; thought he could do better.

Basically has pace and can go past a player well. Interesting to see how he'll manage against better defenders.

From what I saw of Doyle at Shels he definitely has the ability to cut in the premier division, tall, strong, good feet, can play as a winger or striker but he can be lazy, he'll need to graft alot harder in the top flight.

I'm going to have to either slow my typing or speed up my brain : )
Source is a season ticket holder pal of mine at Hull,
That might not be gospel but its at least on a par with "Christy Fagan seen leaving Bray" : )

Hull would be believable imo

Paddy Barrett (CH) & Ciaran Kilduff (CF) of Dundalk and Colm Horgan (RB) of Galway allegedly are the names that have been popping up on City fans forums as possible signings. But if Maguire goes off to Preston we will be on the outlook for another striker and while Christy Fagan is the top choice, I reckon he will favour Dundalk to Cork, so we will have to scour the rest of the league clubs.

Quick glance I'd take Maxi Kougan, Conor McCormack and Paddy Cregg.

Cregg based almost solely on the fact he reminds me of a midfielder from 1956.

Seemingly Waterford in talks with Lee Grace from Wexford. Also, looking likely that Alan Reynolds is getting the managers job, with Pat Fenlon as a Director of Football. Rennie keen on a number of Cork 19's and Conor Ellis.

Every league manager was in Drogheda last Friday, bet all (premier league managers) were hoping Wexford would come through for two reasons, firstly Wexford would be no threat as they are one of the worst most predictable long ball sides of all time, no invention or will to play football and secondly so they could pick up some Drogheda Utd players for a bargain. Average age of Drogs is 22yrs some good young players, it will be interesting how many will remain at the club? Likes of Alan Matthews, Pat Fenlon, Collie O'Neill etc must have been delighted Wexford went down as they will be one less threat to them next season.

Dundalk v Wexford Youths this season;

1-2 (March) 84th min winner - Ferrycarraig Park
3-2 (May) - injury time winner - Oriel Park
0-1 (Aug) - Youths played with 10 for the last 30 mins.- Ferrycarraig Park

:rolleyes:So yeah horrible long ball team with no invention or will to play football at all!

Spoke to Ellis on Monday night. He wants to go out on loan for 6 months or a year, but he wants to go to a Premier team. Obvioulsy that all depends on whether a Premier team want him or not.
