Apparently, Gary Buckley (Cork) was training with Waterford tonight. Would be a great signing for a FD club.

Was told by a player at the training session that there was a "Gary from Cobh" training. A quick scan through the Cobh squad gave me Gary Comerford. Something which didn't overly excite me.
He got back to me a while later and said "Gary Buckley, is that guys name, cork lad"
Just clinging on to a bit of hope maybe that it was Buckley, bit of a difference between signing Gary Buckley and Gary Comerford 😂

I've heard nothing. Garry is a first teamer and I think is tied to a contract. Hence, my surprise if there's any truth to it.

Comerford is only back from a weeks trial at Newport so I'm told, would be a good addition to Waterford very handy player

Shane Keegan went and collected McEvoy from the airport last week.
The only way Galway don't sign him is if they deem him not good enough.

He was very good for us at the end of the season when Schlingerman got injured. Would have been hard to know who would have been first choice if he had stayed.

When he came in for Schlingerman he kept 6 clean sheets in the final 7 games, 5 of them consecutively against Cork, Pats, Harps, Dundalk and Longford.

I reckon we'll **** this if we're pushed. Don't get me wrong there's always a chance we won't be pushed in our first year back up. But I'm quietly confident all the same.

That would surprise me a lot. Hasn't signed a contract yet but I'd imagine that will happen soon.

He's an excellent talent and has impressed me anytime I have seen him play, could only see a loan deal if Cork wanted him to get games.

I heard that young lad from Cork is looking for regular first team football and a full time wage. Looking at our squad we can offer him the first one for sure.

Saw him play nineteens five or six times and he made all the other nineteens look like, well, like kids.

His twin bother Eino, played with Derry last week, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a little bit of a mix up here.

Sander is half way through a season with a team in Estonia. So probably a mix up alright. Sander was a tidy wee player.

Ger Hanley has signed for Donegal League Division 2 side Ballybofey United.
Former Harps player Shaun McGowan plays there as does Jonny Dunleavys younger brother Rory.

We actually played some decent football last season but you wouldn't have seen that being in places like Waterford and Athlone.

You are correct as a Limerick fan I was at more Limerick games than cork games last year.
I can only go off what I have seen of cork, what the boy says about cork and what most people I'd speak to around the league think of cork and Long Ballfields tactics.
You have seen more of cork than I have though it is a fair point.
So tell me, why is it you think your brightest young talent is set to leave cork for Limerick?

Lack of ambition
Bad advice
Getting a huge deal off Limerick
Serious attitude problem
Caufield doesn't rate him as highly as others
Not as good as people think he is

The lad looks a handy player when he comes on. I would've thought something like get him to sign up for the year but go out on loan for half the season to get some game time. Obviously it would appear John doesn't have him in his plans. Would expect him to do very well at limerick if he were to go there.

Regardless of immediate plans it was madness not to tie him down as soon as he season ended. Get him on a deal and as you say loan him out.
If he wasn't in Caufields plans then why did he give him game time in the run in last season and the cup final?

I actually think he's one of the greediest players I've ever seen. A hell of a lot of talent though. Delighted to have him.
