Twigg lives in Newry.
Now I know strange things happen in football and Ive been around long enough to see some out of the blue transfers but if Twigg is considering moving to DCFC for geographical reasons then I reckon I can persuade him to stay by showing him an up to date map with that big blue line on it between Newry and Tallaght.

Or maybe he'd prefer the scenic drive through Armagh,Aughnacloy,Omagh,Strabane.................. ...;)

Only rumours doing the rounds up here are Gareth McGlynn has signed a pre-contract with Sligo, and Gary Twigg is signing for Derry City as his girl is living in Rathmullan and wants a move closer to the NW. All rumour though
Ye I was drunk after we won the league too but I managed to stay off the internet.

Well it is silly season, and I have stated I dont believe it will happen. I'm also only repeating what I have heard

That's not fair hoops1, the latest vid from the POTY awards night shows Twigg offering his heartfelt consolation to Paddy Madden and Bohs.

If thats the case i really, really, really hope we're relegated to the First Division next year. Although...
What a man
he looks like a bit of a eunuch so i dont think thats the first time he's made that bet. And lost.

Was Byrne just released due to injury problems? Weren't Pats fans impressed with him earlier in the season?
Some were, some weren't (just as now, some are happy he's gone, others felt he cold still offer su something)
Being injured for half the season (and for the 3rd or 4th season ina row) can't help

I had a dream/vision/or someone could have said it to me but ... Brendan Place was taking the assistant manager/coaching job with Drogheda

He's said he doesn't know where he'll be playing next year. I can't see Bohs' priorities being an expensive 33 year old striker

yeah......................
He talks all the time in the press about how he loves Rovers?
Ye because a player has never left after saying how much he loves a club before. The scrote will sign for whoever offers him the biggest wedge. He is a footballer!
is on bigger wages here than Derry could afford
But I thought the model club were a part time club that was fiscally responsible?

Ye and so are Derry, you might see a trend forming. As soon as you do run along and spread the word.

Yes, and in Ireland next season it's Rovers who can offer him the biggest wedge in addition to him enjoying playing for the club. Maybe him being best paid by Rovers wouldn't be as important if he hated it here, but he doesn't and we've been very accommodating to him and his family.

We are, Twigg will have earned less than Jason Byrne this year. Are you saying that we're not fiscally responsible?

Very early to make that call in all fairness.

Starting my own rumour, rather than passing on one I heard - now that Colin Hawkins' contract is not being renewed by Sporting Fingal, he might consider moving back to his hometown club, Galway United

Or even Salthill where he started his career ;)

You'll be signing him with your budget smaller than most First Division clubs, yeah?

Another round of cuts at Pats (all expected)
Lynch, Stuey byrne (retiring or going into coaching apparently), cash, haverty and James O'Brien

Can't see us signing Hawkins, unless he is willing to take a small wage. If Vinny Faherty has left Pats, I'd say there is a chance he might come back to us

He started his career with Newcastle United (no longer in existence), not Salthill

I heard that Michael O'Neill was in Terryland Park last night. Not sure what players, if any, he is after from Galway or Bray.

He was, looking at Sheppard to replace Dessie Baker apparently. Ian Foster and Paul Cook were also there, and it was hardly for the want of something to do of a Tuesday night. I'd imagine both would be interested in Seamus Conneely, who was immense last night

fair enough. I just know he played for Salthill in the League Cup before heaidng over to England

Apart from his conistant fouling in the 2nd half :)
He won everything in the air though, very good player

Yes, obviously. Am I missing something?
And yeah it could well have been Sheppard MON was looking at last night, he confirmed we did bid for him in the summer (or rather were offered him) but couldn't get a deal done. Either Sheppard or Jake Kelly as 3rd choice striker next year would be nice, though hopefully MON was there preparing a bid for Conneely.

Who's your second alongside Twigg with Baker gone? Barrett?
I'd have no problems with ye signing either of those two to bolster your attack...

Karl Sheppard or Jake Kelly would be out of their minds to sign for Rovers as a 3rd choice striker. They are both at crucial stages of their respective careers so to sign to play bit parts would do them more bad than good. and FYI, Jake plays left wing :) It was roumered he was looking at Shane O'Neill earlier in the season too but i'm almost sure he signed a new 2 years contract a few months back.

Barrett's retired due to his injuries aged just 28. Which leaves us only with Twigg (well there's Stewart too but he's been used on the wing as much as up front), we probably need two new forwards. Paddy Madden at Bohs this season showed the potential problems in relying on a young developing player too heavily. Hopefully we get one of those two who is able to challenge another new signing as the partner for Twigg.

phew - thank goodness for that.

Pats are set to release another raft of players apparently with lynch and hegarety been 2 of them , derek foran is meant to be signing 4 pats tho while i have also head the rumors about jake kelly signing 4 rovers , ive also heard jason byrne is set to be released by bohs which is a fairly obvious 1 tbf and people have already started linking glenn crowe with a dalymount return after his fingal release today.
Why are you posting like you're breaking stories when all have been posted on this thread
Apart from hegarety being released from Pats 9as he doesn't exist)

I cant see Crowe going back to Bohs after the way he was treated before he left.
How was that then? I heard he was out of contract and told by the manager he wouldnt be getting a new one as he wasnt part of his plans for the coming season. He was obviously very disappointed but hardly anything out of the ordinary in what happened. It happens all the time in every club.
But maybe you know more?

I wouldn't mind us signing Crowe and just stick him on for the Rovers games, It will even out the goal Twigg always scores against us and the match would start at 1-1

That is exactly what happened as told to me by the man himself.
Like a lot of others on here when talking about Bohs, Lep is talking through his hole.
