Jack Flynn is 21 and was a bit-part player with Shelbourne last season and St. Pats before that.
Signed in the off-season but don't think he played once for us last season.

Meenan had no attitude problem with us, always one of the hardest working players. I remember he was on crutches once and was first there for the bus to wexford. Was grand at drogs I believe too. Maybe Matthews is eager to have him at Shels having worked with him before? I know we would have him back if he fitted what Mick needed. Great young fella.

Flynn played for our u20s and A team for a couple of years and 2 years ago suffered a horrific leg break, missing a full year as a result.
He was a 'nippy striker' in cliched terms

Conor O'Grady to sign for Harps today after training
Looks like a good signing. A bit of experience to balance all the young guys in the team.

Rovers sign Dean Kelly, who was with Oldham Athletic until Christmas. That move should mean Tommy Stewart will be off, more than likely to Derry City.

One of the members of Harps squad from last season (currently not re-signed as yet but training with the side) has had a better offer put to him by the GAA to return to play GAA as the new county manager wants him in the panel.
Amateur my fooking hole.
Who's this Sam? Care to share?!

Good riddance..An unbelievable waste of money.. By the end of the season you could actually hear him getting fatter if you sat near him in the stands. McGuinness is a great signing for you in my opinion. Creatro.. best of luck with that..

Maybe he just works better under certain managers. I wouldnt think that Matthews would have him training with him at Shels if he was of that opinion and all my dealings with Darren were pleasant so Iwont have a bad word said about the lad.

Do we consider a realised sell on clause when working out record transfer fees for an LOI player?

How could Derry see any of that money im wondering. They have distanced themselves from their old creditors and if they got anything from this it would be double standards!
Edit: has the fee been disclosed for him?

Refer to Post #1275. That's it in a nutshell.

I think the fee is officially undisclosed, but it's around about £500k. Scunthorpe had a £650,000 bid accepted (Sammo turned it down) and Derby had a £425,000 bid rejected. So somewhere in between is where I'd say it ended up.

I didn't suggest Derry would profit. I'm just thinking the money would (presumably) go to clearing Wellvan's debts. Which, would, of course, help the current Derry City (if only in perception etc)
It'd be horrifying to think that nobody in football gained from the sell on fee

I know, Im not suggesting your suggesting it :D.
As you said its horrible to think that football cant benefit from a football transfer but in this case, it surely cant be the case, unfortunate or otherwise.

Surely he is quality enough for a good English or Scottish side
Surely he is quality enough for a good English or Scottish side
He's one of the most over rated footballers ever to play LOI. Good striker of a ball but a complete pussy, and would not be able to handle the physical side of any UK league
