Agree. Always impressed by his work rate and he is well able to play a bit of ball also.
I'd be surprised if he wasn't playing for us next season.

Gary Rogers and Conor Kenna officially signed up for next season, Great news
So does that mean ye won't be needing Andy Boyle and Evan McMillan? (and hopefully neither :) )

Great signings. Both would have been in my team of the season. Pats are looking like they could be strong again next year and should be competing with Derry for third place.

seriously? i think survival and consolidation should be our only ambition this season. maybe some sort of respectable cup run (league or fai, don't care), but ultimately all i want to see is derry staying in the premier division. anything else is completely unrealistic.

It won't be the biggest surprise to see most of our lot who've been let go play at Pats next season. Rovers/Pats the big derby next season:D

Well seeing as you were offering your players more money in the first than Dundalk could in the premier I've no doubt that your playing budget will dwarf most clubs next season. Fingal, Bohs and Galway are cutting back dramatically and UCD and Bray's budgets will be peanuts ours will be close to what it was last year so can't see why Derry won't at least compete for third.

The Star says Sligo trying to sign Conor Powell, Alan Kirby and Mark Quigley.
Also says Fingal going part time.
It didnt say that they were defo going part time.

Dundalk refused to match the extra battered sausage and portion of onion rings we threw in to the fish supper offered to Stephen Parkhouse.

I've just gotten a text to say Colin Healy wants to come home and isn't bothered about the cash. I don't believe it myself. Delighted if true.
Apparently the little man has signed as well.

agreed, always hated to see him play for youse, always gave mccallion a torrid time with his pace. but he never reproduced his cork performances elsewhere. disappointing really, as he has great pace.

I think the player been referred to here is Barry Molloy who was offered a contract by Foster. But I also remember Foster stating that Molloy considered his offer but didn't want to move have to relocate elsewhere.

Thats not what I meant. I know which players Dundalk were after, but L4S stated we offered more money for those players to stay, and that dosnt include Kenny turning Dundalk down. At the end of the day, Kenny, Molloy and Farren all decided to stay, but money was nothing to do with it

Has the financial crisis effected clubs abilities to pay players in Ireland?

Has the financial crisis effected clubs abilities to pay players in Ireland?
I'd say its affected the players ability to negotiate/demand extortionate wages off clubs rather than clubs being unable to pay wages

Marc Brolly (Finn Harps) is on a 2 week trial at Rochdale.
We're hearing alot of names bandied about here lately like Mark Rossiter, Conor O'Grady and Shaun Kelly. I be freaking delighted with any one of those especially O'Grady.
Also people mentioning Parkhouse but I'd doubt that one to be honest.
Definitely a great market for LOI clubs at the min, the days of crazy money are behind us and we can look at more sensible wages for decent players.

Seems most players are now looking for more reasonable guaranteed wages ahead of taking a chance at the bigger wages. Its about time.

Heard that myself about Oman moving to Bray and a few other experienced LOI campaigners aswell rumoured to move there aswell (Fenn, Crowe, Jason Byrne). Wonder where Bray would get the money to pay these higher earners? I know its not the best of sources so apoligies for that, but someone on the MNS facebook site said Bray are getting some decent investment for next year.

I'd take them all (not at the expense of the clubs financial stability tho) but on a matter of principal don't want Fenn anywhere near our club.

I can't see anyone investing in Irish clubs any time in the near future and if they do it will be at a club like Shamrock Rovers or Sligo Rovers. Syuperb signing for Bray if they got Oman in, Skippy was spotted in the Carlisle yesterday so maybe some thruth in that rumour. I'd love to see Jason Byrne back home :) but Crowe i wouldn't be to sure on and as for Fenn, the club can **** right off, that would make a lot of fans seriously unhappy. He is not the type of man/player that would fit in with our club
