7.45 pm per the UEFA site, I don't think it's been officially announced by the club yet but I'd say that'll be it.

0-0 after about an hour, sounds like City were on top in the first half based on twitter, been quiet in the second half. Garan Manley (defender who was man of the match in the cup final recently) has gone to hospital for a scan on his ankle after a first half injury.
Roma beating APOEL 3-0 in the other game. Winners of these two ties face off in the second round.

Anybody who's witnessed Shels fans protesting against everything from vulture funds to the Queen outside Tallaght Stadium will know what a rich history there is there of badly-attended protests.

I'm planning a protest outside Tallaght tomorrow night against that comment.

I probably won't show.

Good stuff so far from Dundalk. Tel Aviv look very weak at the back but maybe they are just underestimating Dundalk.

Excellent first half from Dundalk. They may rue the missed chances however.

No team can squander that many chances against a technically superior team and hope to win.

Finishing aside (which is fairly important of course), this has to be Dundalk's best performance of the lot so far. They're all over them. A far cry from the semi-shambles against FH. Or whoever that was.

Just hope they don't regret the missed chances. This one is there for the taking.

Sounds like they were much better. Hopefully they dont get caught against the run of play. Do they deserve to be in front?

Less possession than we've come to expect but seems to be a tactical decision and look the far more dangerous team in attack. May well regret the poor finishing though. Certainly proving once again that they're just a very good team.

Yossi Benayoun on?

Dundalk can match that with killer anyway.

O'Donnell was suspended against Legia away right, how was he suspended again after only one game, was that followed from previous EL or are they treated the same?

Oh yes.

Still every Dundalk goal in Europe this season has come from an ex-UCD player.

Also worth noting Southampton drew in Israel earlier. So for the second week in a row, Dundalk are beating the premiership's result against the same league

paul_oshea
29/09/2016, 8:39 PM
Thats Class. Dundalk seem to be getting better and better with each game in Europe.

On another note, O'Neills negativity about his own players, and Irelands ability to play football is really being shown up by kenny in Europe. Kenny is making all the right subs, talks well before the game, builds up his players and is getting results. O'Neill could definitely learn from this, and I hope a journalist starts calling him up on this next time he talks down Ireland and talks up the opposition.

Result.

And absolutely deserved.

They've just earned Delaney's salary. And done more for the LoI in earning it too.

Second place in the group still a genuine possibility.

Fair dues.

I suppose they'll be seeded next year if they win the league.. it only took them the second game to get that done.. incredible stuff.

Incredible from dundalk. Only got to watch from around 5 minutes before the goal, and they could've had another one. Second is definitely not beyond the realms of possibility but next two games against zenit will be tough

Whatever about the brand of football, O'Neill has consistently got his teams to overachieve throughout his managerial career, including us really taking into account the results against Germany and Italy. He has his own methods and ways of dealing with interviews, expectations, etc. and it's served him pretty well. With all due respect, I don't think he's going to be taking any notes on Stephen Kenny's philosophy or approach to management.

What a result though, it just gets better and better. Good to have the home game with Zenit first too I think but a massive step up in quality again. Regardless, they're going to be in with a very big chance of qualifying in the final two games which exceeds any sort of reasonable expectations when the draw was made. Class.

Just realised that Maccabi keeper is the same guy who looked a shambles in Belgrade v Ireland earlier in the month.

Dundalk should have tested him more.

What a bloody performance, probably should have scored another goal at some point, so wonderful to see an Irish side play like this. King Kenny could do a job with Ireland, if given time, by the looks of things. Imagine if the NT passed the ball, closed down and kept the ball like Dundalk.

I reckon Horgan and maybe even 1/2 others will get NT call ups soon, but likely not until the season is over, I reckon Kenny/MON have spoken and would be weary of overworking them or disrupting Dundalk at this moment, they are a special team.

The group has laid out well for Dundalk so far. 2 teams they will have targetted before the big challenge of Zenit. I think someone was saying the two long trips are after the domestic season.

I thought Dundalk would be doing well to get a point in the group and hoped they would possibly get 4. Tel Aviv looked stunned after some of the early chances Dundalk had.
