Climville down to ten men after ten minutes in Cyprus. They've really thrown that tie away, from 2-0 up after an hour at home, to losing at home, and now this.
Cillian Sheridan and Adam Rooney on the mark today.

And Climville concede on the stroke of half time to add to it all
RoPS - who beat Rovers - down to 9 men and 3-0 down in Zagreb, who've also missed a penalty.

I think it's harsh that league champions have been knocked out this week. In my own humble opinion all champions should drop into the next EL round e.g. FH should be in ELQ3. It would reward champions with at least two rounds of European action.
I have no doubt that it's tough to get by EL Q1, Q2 and Q3. Any LoI that can navigate a path through to the EL playoffs will be fully deserving of respect. Getting to ELQ3 is good going but I wouldn't classify it as great.

Best of luck to Pats & Cork. Especially Cork. :)

I see Jelgava from Latvia knocked out Slovan Bratislava. Widens the gap to Latvia in the Co-efficient rankings. Excellent win mind you!

McMillan's second goal was an excellent team goal.
Reminds me very much of a famous Ireland goal scored half a dozen years ago.

And Nomme Kalju got a 90th minute equaliser against Maccabi Haifa, who they then went on to beat on penalties, so Estonia are back ahead of us - albeit that Cork and Pat's haven't started yet

Macedonian side winning too actually, which bumps us down.
Europa of Gibraltar again holding AIK to 1-0; ten minutes to go there.

And the Montenegro side go ahead within seconds, so they're keeping up with us if we get two draws.
Bloody tight around where we are, even if the club coefficient is way more important

They made Minsk meat out of the Pats backline.

21/07/2016, 7:06 PM
From a nicely worked corner kick apparently.
Do this Pat's team have enough to come from behind again?

Pats have a goal in them but defensively. ........

Cork 1 up

In terms of round 3 opposition - for whoever wins - Vojvodina are 2-1 up in Wales and 3-1 up on aggregate coming up to full time; they play Pat's/Dinamo next. Not a very daunting tie it has to be said. Genk are losing 1-0 in montenegro after half an hour, but are 2-1 up on aggregate - the winners face Cork/Häcken.
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 7:25 PM
Genk now 2-0 down - so 2-2 on aggregate
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 7:37 PM
Hearts miss a penalty; still 0-0 after 135 minutes against Birkirkara of Malta. And yet first Division hibs are 1-0 up away to Brondby amazingly.
Vojvodina a result now; they'll play Pat's/Dinamo next
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 7:45 PM
Apparently Dinamo have had about 5 good chances, Pats just one dangerous shot from distance

21/07/2016, 8:10 PM
Hearts 0-1 Birkirkara!
Ha!

21/07/2016, 8:23 PM
Genk down to ten men now. Huge chance of Cork v Buducnost Podgorica in round 3; you'd have to be happy with that.
Hearts 0-2 Birkirkara!

Minsk down to 10. Pat's seem to be upping the pressure
Never mind, seems to be a sub or someone sent off?!

Not quite, one of their substitutes got sent off for getting involved in a touchline melee.
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 8:29 PM
Conor Sammon off the mark for hearts; 1-2 now.
Pat's Twitter saying up to 20 involved in a fracas, and yeah, a minsk sub sent off.
Coming up to injury time now

All over in Cork! Amazing result
Extra time in montenegro to see who they face next. Genk still a man and 2-0 down

Well done Cork, and not only going through but getting a win too is very impressive.
Unlucky Pats. They made a right go of it and from what I saw in the previous round that's more than I expected.

And co-efficient now 1.500. Matches what we lose with minimum 6 games left. Wonder who City would prefer in R3.

I swear I try really hard to ignore nonsensical posts, but fail when faced with the totally absurd.
How could a defeat EVER be called a "great result"?

The richest Belarusian football club is FC BATE Barysau with a budget of $6 million, in second place – Minsk “Dynama” with half the budget. Next comes Salihorsk “Shakhtsyor” ($2.5 million). These three clubs account for slightly more than half of the total budget of the Belarusian clubs.

Well in fairness youre right its not i thought minsk budget was about 10 to 12 million a year but its not so no yer right its not a great result. However they are a better pedigree than pats for various reasons most of which probably shouldnt be the case but they are so a loss by only 1 goal over two legs is a good result. It shows these teams can compete and the gap is closing.

Absolutely buzzing after that, fantastic result. Had a couple of dodgy moments at the start where hacken should've taken control. Great shift put in by the lads to get through that. Voice gone

Come on Buducnost Podgorica!
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 8:58 PM
Wonder who City would prefer in R3.
Has to be Podgorica surely? A team from a lower-ranked league who've never done much in Europe and who, if they get through, will arguably have a red card to thank in large part for their win.
Can't ask for more than that

Hearts and Hibs out. Least Hibs went down fighting. Hearts, awful stuff... Really are very few easy games in Europe now amongst the 'lesser' teams.

Would be my preference too if I was a City fan. Only thing is, their confidence would be high after an excellent result coming from 2 down after the 1st leg.

True - but I think the red card takes away from the performance to an extent. I'd not be too worried about Cork facing them. Don't know what the difference is between last year and this year, but if Caulfield has figured out where he messed up last year, Cork could have half an eye on the group stages now. Why not?
pineapple stu
21/07/2016, 9:10 PM
Actually, thought the red card came a lot earlier for some reason.
I'd still go with Podgorica though.

Only advantages Podgorica have now are maybe less tired, home crowd and get to drop their worst taker. But maybe their real chance has gone.

21/07/2016, 9:31 PM
Underway now
Podgorica going first, which is usually an advantage

Podgorica first to miss
1-1 after three kicks
