Dane Massey re-signed for Drogs

Announced as captain too which pretty much means James Brown is leaving as was to be expected to be fair. Hopefully he ends up going abroad.

McGlade back for a third season, and Kevin O'Connor returns for hsis fourth stint at City. Not super excited about either signing. McGlade is the definition of a frustrating winger, but without enough end product to justify it. Kev has been worse each time he has returned for us the last few times. Not sure how he performed for Shels this year?

I'd say he doesn't want to be left in a cold sweat, wants to get on the good foot, it's time for drogs to give it up and turn it loose, any blind man can see it.

O'Connor was mostly solid for Shels though probably not at the level he was at before his Preston move, the signing of Kameron Ledwidge pushed O'Connor into centre mid for some games near the end of the season where he looked more limited, his set piece deliveries caused defences alot of problems all season which will be missed but Shane Griffin is a decent replacement for us at left back

Rob Cornwall leaves Bohs for Northern Colorado Rainstorm. American clubs have the stupidest names...

They're a new third tier club managed by Eamon Zayed. Cornwall is their only player so far

He’s more than good enough to be sure. I see heeney and Markey now signed too, Doherty is doing a great job so far. It would be brilliant if we also sign O Reilly and McRedmond as this would give us a great spine to the team already.

As a player?

Their Twitter announces Cornwall as their first ever signing.

Edit - nothing on their site about McFaul either, and he hasn't played in two years afaik. Where did you see he'd signed?

You're clearly one of those UCD fans who started supporting them two weeks ago and don't know the rich history.

Ok - typo. Hailstorm/Rainstorm - both stupid names! But it's Hailstorm (which is marginally the more stupid name)

We're well beyond the looking glass here but it's the off season and I think Rainstorm is more stupid. This has all the makings of another Bazunu/Kelleher (which is better) or Bohs/Rovers (which is worse) debate for the ages. :)

Great news about Markey, really happy so far as would not have been surprised seeing himself and Massey go. Doesn't leave much room in midfield for Ryan Brennan though so will be interesting to see where he ends up. Presuming Doyle and Brown are definitely gone if we somehow managed to keep Kane and one of Redmond and O Reilly we'd be in a much better position than I had anticipated. Interested to see what happens with Odumosu also , I know he's an U21 international now so he'll be in demand but I wouldn't be too upset if he does leave, he can be quite inconsistent and if he goes to Dundalk as rumoured I don't think he's the answer to their goalkeeping woes of late.

markey re-signing is massive thought he'd end up at shels. agree on odumosu, dont think hes a premier division GK tbh.

Dundalk have announced SOD. Which means one of two things - either a big wedge has been paid to Pats or an even bigger wedge will have to be paid when it’s been through the courts.

3/ Or it might be proven that nothing is due if he did not sign an extension and if it was only a verbal agreement.

I'll be ok with staying above the bottom 2 sides next season though that will mean going toe to toe with Ollie's probably already stated relegated Harps. Year 2 for sure mixing it with Rovers and Derry.

None of us here know the full facts obviously. However, I’ll just say this, it’s a bit strange to resign from a job which you’re not under contract to !

You can resign from the position, serve notice to leave, a lot do that in contracting positions and take up a new role.

Will all depend on what or if anything he signed, if it was only a verbal agreement that he said he would extend or consider it after the cup final, I don't see any scope for compensation and its dead in the water.

If he signed something, that's completely different, and Dundalk should pay Pats compensation.

People resign from rolling contracts without being obligated to honour a fixed term period. Not suggesting it was the case here but there are times it happen-maybe to covering all bases as a legal contingency. Id be double checking the small print just in case after some of the claims and hissy fits on twitter especially.

Gareth kelleher and the stats ports boys are all multi millionaires, the compensation is irrelevant to both. The amount if any of compo is irrelevant.

The unnamed member of Dundalk's coaching staff is in tears at this news.

NOBODY and i mean NOBODY at Dundalk ever expected Bermo or GIF( ;)) to follow SOD to OP. Shurr Bermos playing with the DSP anyway isn't he

Wonder will any current out of contract Pats players follow him, I would imagine some might, but either way should be news next week on new contracts and new recruits to the club.

I thought Pats fans confirmed to the twitter and foot.ie universe based on information leaked out from their board on the same night O'Donnell told them he was going that O'Donnell had willing signed a new contract in September and decided he wanted to opt out after the cup final and that he was now a snake?

Never heard that once. In this day and age anyone can go online and say they heard it from someone who knows someone who walks their dogs with someone on the board. I’ve heard nothing anyway semi official the whole episode is being kept very tight. That’s why I reckon it’s defo gone the legal road.

Come on oriel, you posted about the new Dundalk manager less than 24 hours ago. :) I get that Dundalk might prefer for everyone to pretend it was a normal, nothing-to-see-here move but it's not quite old news just yet.
