UCD have signed Dylan Duffy and Alex Dunne from Shamrock Rovers, Thomas Lonergan from Pat's and Alex Nolan from Shelbourne.

I've...never heard of any of them. Anyone any views?

Dunne is a right back and was one of the most promising academy players for a while. Was first choice for the B team until he got a bad injury that had him out for almost a year I think. Studies at UCD so it makes sense, especially with Lyons coming in. Duffy also was out for a year with an injury but bounced back to make his first team debut last season. Can't tell you much more than that as I haven't seen enough to say what type of players they are really.

Lyons is facing a big step up. It's all very well running around and having a kick about but he is going to be playing in a team now who expect to win trophies. Its a different kind of pressure

If Lyons signs, will Gannon then be third choice Right-back?

Gannon has been playing right side of a back 3 not RB or RWB. Always amazed that people don’t know this and not just on here, same on Twitter.

Yeah it's gas how people don't pay attention. Gannon came out himself and said the right side of cb was the making of him

Duffy is a real talent. If ucd have signed him I can see him coming back in the future. The absence of srfc ii is a shame as we are having to let go of some real prospects but then that is why some of the other dublin clubs (not ucd) were so against us

Lonergan is a striker. Came on for around 10 minutes against Bray in the FAI Cup and was on the bench a few teams. He had a good record in the Under-19 league last season, think he was top scorer.

deary me, that peno miss by fatty ward in the cup final is starting to cost bozos more and more..;)

They have the money now to get new players, apparently , but no-one wants to join their bee keeping club masquerading as a football entity.
Cant be long now before the hipsters playing at being "workin class" for a friday evening get bored and take their beard oil and avocados elsewhere.

lyons would be a good addition to Rovers if it happens, but we wont be stuck without him.

It's almost as if not everyone follows Rovers and only sees them when they play their own team. Mad really

Why would he be interested in doing any PR for Rovers fans? They’ve nicked a player from their great rivals again and he wants to rub it up them - fairly so.

Reports that Jordan Flores is open to a move to the LOI.

With Bohs losing a lot of players and going by reports they offered Smith the best financial contract. Wouldn’t shock me if they offered Flores a big money, multi year contract in a desperate attempt to build the squad.

Nolan was with Shels u19s and made 4 first team appearances last season as a substitute so very little to asses him on, I think he was winger but then Morris played many players out of position. He was with Rovers before he joined Shels in 2020 so I presume he was teammates with Duffy and Dunne there

Molloy only made sub appearances for Shels so hard to critique him with limited game time but I didn't think he did much when he was on. Looked a very good midfielder against us when he was with Wexford back around 2014/15 under Shane Keegan

You should stick to your usual tactic, troll with a single post and then retreat. When you come back to respond you look even worse than usual. Know your level and stick to it.

Same fee as Celtic paid for Kenny. Huge loss but they've a bit of money to spend and are in Europe so they're an attractive club to play for

Sounds a bit too conservative in my humble opinion....

Maybe with the Mahon deal, they will go back to Almond?

I can see the rationale in not giving a 33 year old a long term deal. The only thing is that Loi clubs can’t match what a lot of L1 or L2 clubs are paying so the only way to entice this players is with a longer contract. Not a chance we are paying Doyle what he could get in the UK but the three year deal clinched it for us. He should be good for at least two of the three years and could get involved with coaching on the last year of the deal.

doyle is better than amond though , can see why they'd baulk at a 3 year deal. that final year is a killer especially if they are on good money.

Been around the L1, L2 scene a good while now. He has done well at that level bar his stint at hartlepool. I seen him a good few times for them and never seemed to click into gear there.

I think the LOI is coming up in the world. It’s starting to be seen as a decent opportunity to play in a European league.

Yeah, some I guess must use it as a way to see the world while they're young. Best of luck to them. This fella will be in for a surprise when he sees Finn Park after a spot of rain though

Probably on balance not worth the bother - it must be hard trying to work out if these guys are actually any good, and the LoI experience has been spotty at best, even before Dundalk's nonsense last year

Aiden Keena to Sligo is an interesting one. Was very highly rated at Pats before he moved away and has had fleeting moments of success since but hasn't seemed to be able to settle anywhere. Wouldn't put it past Bucko to get the best out of him and him proving to be an able leader of the line.

Bohs have signed Ryan Cassidy on loan from Watford. Irish U19 striker who had a fairly nondescript loan spell at Accrington Stanley last year. Always hard to judge signings like that, but sounds like he wouldn't be expected to replace Georgie Kelly in terms of goals scored

Nesta99

Cassidy is well rated at Vicarage Rd. Sean Murray potential though Murray had more gam time with the 1st team in the championship. I am biased as a Watford fan though.

Was well regarded when he played at National league level but had to return to Scotland for personal reasons. Interesting to see him back in the LOI.

Don't forget the carbon footprint tax is applied to that and it works out at about €12.50. Although there was a free supply of honey included in that, subject to vagaries of the phibsboro pollination environment, of course.

Delighted with that,
People have forgotten Joey O Brien retired and Scales went to Celtic.
We also allowed Max Murphy leave so we were looking a bit light at the back.
Lyons is an under 21 International and the "multi year" deal whatever that means will hopefully see him either play well and stay with us or follow Scales over the water for a decent fee.

Rumors there will be two more for Dundalk, a full-back and an attacker.
