Not a bad preformance from Grattan with no keeper and two players cup tied 1-1 afer 90 mins with a chance at the end to win it. Kilreen a solid team all round even the subs that came on i thought made the team even stronger and sharper when they came on. they are the team to beat in the league by far very sharpe!!!! best of luck to them for the season.Again fitness caught Grattan and mabye still short one or two .

First time playing up their and to be honest must say well done to all involved in what the have achieved up their . Dressing rooms a credit pitch a credit and to be fair their team have all the signs of a team that will go on and win their league and have a good rattle off a few of the cups . Back to the match . They scored a cracker of a goal a corner in headed out only to be meet on the half volley to the roof of the net a cracker to be fair . So 1 nil down but plenty of time on the clock we felt we could get back into it and when they reduced to 10 we felt only a matter of time and to be fair we had our chances but some poor finishing (me included ) some good keeping and solid defending the half time score stayed 1 0 . We felt we could break them down but to their credit we couldn't and even thou we had a lot of the ball we couldn't find back of the net . With 5 minutes to go they made it 2 nil been told he was off but I wasn't in a position to see it . We got a goal with about 2 mins to make it 2 1 . Best of luck to Blackstone in next round . And best of luck for the rest of the season .

Battle is about right. Good tough encounter. Even for the first half hour until Jay Sulls cracker! What a strike. Harsh enough red but seen them given. Tough going for the next hour as we dropped deeper and deeper under pressure. Always a bit lively on the break, we had to use blood sweat and tears to defend!! We had a great chance ten mins before we made two nil. Oldlegs stuck one in late on but we sent the kick off halfway down Fairhill and the whistle blew! Five great games over the last few seasons between the teams. Today was our James Wade moment!

Was at the game also this Springfield were impressive in first half but once Kilreen scored always looked like winning..

Football is cyclical. We had 10 years upwards before four iffy ones. The key, in my opinion, is to ride out the bad ones with as little damage as possible and believe in the long term. On this season, we have ridden our luck a bit, but have a strong squad. Way too early to get carried away. I have seen teams have starts like ours and die a death - our target is 16 points which will keep us up- haha! Kilumney and Greenwood will come again. Both clubs have more than one team, especially Greenwood.

It is a shame to see Premier clubs like Greenwood and Kilumney to falling so hard and it does nothing to enhance the reputation of the AUL. Again it comes back to the old argument.. too many clubs in and around the same location. Guys jumping ship and showing no loyalty when the club hit hard times. Blackstone at the moment deserve huge credit for 1. Keeping the club going after a rough year or two and 2. Building a squad that is competing again. To have good club guys in there like Horse, Mellerick and co. is the key to rebuilding.
Nothing worse than seeing a team get promoted and either fold before they start or last about 3/4 games, has a huge affect on the division.

Can't see both teams folding if I'm not wrong but don't both teams second team have to fold and compete in highest division with their first team....still think that greenwood are in so much trouble over getting rid of John Paul manager last year he had got in 5-6 players himself and when they got rid of him they all left...rumours that killumney manager last season going to ballincollig seniors..look at start of the year blarney st where starting up a b team and come start of season they were lucky to have 11 players thankfully now their getting good numbers training and to games..
