Our youths won there league aswell and they've only just been formed have to start somewhere, yer senir team only just stayed up aswell redandwhite, its not criticism it all facts both yer teams are shocking this year and I meant this year.. Like you said the tables don't lie..

Overall backpass I'm happy with my first season out there and am happy with my Mossie and AOH medal.. Think overall besides last night it's been a very good season :-))

Two medals is great lad....Look at all the struggling clubs in cork aul....last night was great for a neutral and it showed with a handy size crowd going down

I only realised the size of the crowd when I was sent off and on my way to the changing rooms, FairPlay to all who travelled its a bit of a trek out there..

Well done again to Coachford lads especially Baby Zico, Connor and Bubbles

Red card all day long.. Just because he had a player inside means nothing....conor had an empty net to hit the ball into before crow dragged him down....denied a goal scoring chance......conor wasnt going away from goal either he got the ball outside the box and was dragged down inside so how you say he was going away puzzles me.....
he was running in a straight line across the box and im pretty sure would have had to round the player on the cover if crow left him stand up.

Sitting in a bar in London and I was just told that The Glen are getting a new manager next year. The guy who told me just waved 50 sterling in front of me to back up his prediction. They are just short of promotion and there is talk of a new manager. Where was the incumbant manager when the hard graft was been done. Such is life. Back to my pint........
heard this last night cant think of his name its paul something anyway ha

Fair play to Coachford on winning Prem they been knocking on that door for a few years . They did have fantantic start to season but they way they finished was even better beating Park and Kilumney in last 2 games of season 2 of the strongest teams in aul football. Also like to say well done to Hibs savage season for them league and cup winners and unlucky to lose County Cup great side set up and I hear Terry not a bad manager ;)

i havent been on for a while but to be complaining about points deduction is a joke,i had a similar action taken and our club were put out of aoh.your player wasnt registered and you were deducted points, and yee were lucky the fai didnt hit yee for a huge fine when the same happened in a national cup game, but yee lost and the whole country knew it.coachford have led the league fron the start and deserved their win,the last two games 2 one nil wins shows what a good side they are, delighted for john c ,skilly and colin k who i know well and to mick walsh a coachford man through and through.WELL DONE TO ALL CONCERNED.

Well said tricks its always gonna be tough to take losing the league on the last game of the season. And of course they'll feel aggrieved when the 3 points deducted were against arguably the worst premier team ever (no disrespect intended) it has cost them dearly, give them a break

to be fair there aggrivation should be directed at there club imo. bottom line is a blunder somehwere on the admin side has cost them a play off for the league. they didnt lose the league on the pitch which maybe some consolation. they still have the big one in there back pockets though and a mossie so not all that bad

Lads ill clear this up once and for all and I'm never commenting on it again for ye that don't understand..

Dave Sheehan played in the game against Clonmel under Dave Kennys name, then when the AUL hauled us in Dave Kenny and Dave Sheehan had to go in.

The AUL checked everything after a big investigation and said it was a genuine mistake the Daves got mixed up and that a fine would be given and that was it.

Are ye still with me???????

Do ye think that during the "investigation' the first thing they done was check were both players even registered or signed with the club?? Anyone can see that's what happens first, AUL never mentioned he wasn't registered even tho they had to know.. Next league game we were 3-0 up against castleview and Dave Kenny came on for 15mins and the next day there was a "Random" check of the card?? They obviously waited for us to play him then punished us which is very very sneaky IMO.

Yes the club made a genuine mistake and take some of the blame but I am 100% confident they knew before he played a league game... Add to that bweeng did the exact same thing and got 1 point deducted and we got 3.. They couldn't spell consistency between them in there I'd say.. Or they'd try spell it and the Chairman would TELL them how he wants is spelt.

Now drop it please and AGAIN!! Well done to Coachford enjoy yer week.

apologies re quoted post but as ive said earlier ,if a player is un registered he is illegal.i have fallen fowl of aul before and got punished too.you can say it was a genuine mistake but rules are rules.great game in glen last night and a draw tomorrow would see them deff promoted.in fairness the 3 teams in this playoff were there or thereabouts all year and any two from 3 would deserve it.

Congratulations to coachford on winning the league.

They get knocked for there style of play but I've seen park play the same and both are winning titles.

Best team comes out on top in the league.
Should be a really strong prem next year with the teams coming up and current teams improving.

Some crowd there last night.
I guesstimated at 250 - 300 people.

Could be well wide of the mark now aswell.

Great to see that support for local soccer.

Congrats to all the winners this season. Great way to end Prem on a Super Tuesday!! Skilly left Blackstone - and won an AOH and a league title......I told him he was wrong to go!! Bubbles too spent a while with us so especially glad for the two lads.

Lets get the summer rolling - Chiefscout - you gonna go with the guess 100 and bound to get some right plan again???

All the Street ones, must be about 800 linked to ye now 1for!!

Derek Daniels back to Bohs?

Somewhere between 2 and 102 linked to us........but a few irons in the fire!!

First of all a big congratulations to Coachford :ball:

There is no substitute for hard work and they have shovelled hard for many a year without much reward until now.
Well done to all involved on and off the pitch.

Secondly to six-yard-box, the AOH Cup, while prestigious, is not as big a win as the AUL Prem title.

This is my opinion.

In Kinsale, when I was involved, we always aimed for the title, any cups that came our way were a welcome bonus, but never a substitute for the AUL Prem title.

In the MSL, which is the bigger win? The MSL Prem title or the Beamish Cup?
No comparison.

Also, the Mossie Linnane Cup should be as well regarded as the AOH Cup.
You only play Premier teams - no walkover ties versus 2nd or 3rd div teams.

as you said bud its all about opinions. the aoh is a blue riband and id rather that then a premier league medal. some of us arent lucky enough to win 6 leagues or even play premier!! and your right the beamish cup is only good for the night out you get its the intermediate cup msl teams strive to win. bit disrespectful there aswell to lower division teams as there was 5 of them in the quarter finals of this years aoh. would you like ur club to be called a walkover by the likes of avondale and rockmount coz yere dross in the 2nd division?

To be fair, Shetland was one half of a double act that carried a club for a very long time. I don't often agree with him, but he does speak from experience. For me it's league over cup. Have you a better chance if you draw Kilumney or Blackstone in a round? What if three players are working one weekend? In league, you need to get most of 18 days right, AOH less days to get right.

If the AOH Cup was worth more than the Prem title surely the MFA would be inviting Kilumney into the MFA Junior Champions Cup next season - Coachford will rightly be representing Cork AUL... as champions.

As for being lucky to win leagues, I think any league winner owes a lot more to skill and hard work than luck.
The golfer Gary Player once said "the more I practice, the luckier I get"

And saying that MSL teams aim for the FAI Intermediate Cup - of course they do, it's a national competition. The equivalent for Cork AUL teams is the FAI Junior Cup (certainly not the AOH).

My point about playing 2nd and 3rd div teams was that every year Kinsale battered some teams 8 or 10, even 14 nil once.
And it wasn't just Kinsale - Leeside, Wilton and Grattan and others did too.
This is not good for any competition.
These type of hammerings are unusual in the MSL cups.

A lot of what is said on here is just opinion.
But I have one "fact" for you - I'm not your bud - please don't refer to me as such :ball:

Just my opinion
31/05/2013, 11:33 AM
Shilts yes there are hammerings from time to time but both blarney street and park were knocked out by Div 2 sides. Leeview from Div 3 reached qf. In fact out of the 4 semi finalists there was 1 prem and 1 prem a. You are insulting lower Div teams. How did Kinsale get on this year in a very poor MSL Div 2?

Maybe the lower division teams are doing better now because the overall standard has dropped a little this year.
Douglas Hall's THIRD team got to the AOH Cup final for instance (and came close to winning)

My former club Kinsale didn't do great this year - a team in transition would be a good description.
However, my other ex clubs UCC and College Corinthians had good seasons so not all doom and gloom here.
