To be fair pike had lovely players all over the field...i think coachford sat back for the first 15 mins to observe what they were dealing with...missed penalty was vital....i agree that the 2 coachford players u mentioned had great games but I think overall the team did well...we discussed a few weeks back about cork refs doing cork teams no favours and I think he should of definately giving that penalty near the end but he bottled it big time..pike very good team but I heard on more than one occasion their centre forward treatning conor o neill that he will break his legs in front of ref and it went unpunished...everyone out to play ball no room on the pitch for scum talk like that...i missed sending off but I hear it was harshi dont understand how people say pikes forward was good the reason for his carry on was the fact he was brutal and coner had him in his pocket all day coachfords defenders wer awsome all 4 but pick a man of match to step in for this game had to be coner.sending off harsh defender punched jc to kidney from behind and the 2 went face to face harsh but stupid .i see the sub keeper for pike got all the headlines in the echo.

Over the last few years the MSL is on a serious decline with the exception of Avondale who are one of the top sides in the country right now. The AUL has gone from strength to strength over the last 6 or 7 years and now people are starting to notice that you would of never heard people talking about Coachford and Pearse in the same breathe as Pike a few years back but now you are. It goes to show how much better Cork Aul has gotten!!

From ducks, to 2 yellows, to racing on the mallow road, I would like to congratulate Coachford, I know a few of the lads and they are a good honest team. All the best to Pike but i do hope they lose the next one ;).

Maybe just maybe rival clubs from Cork will cheer their opposition on or is that asking too much?

It would be great to see that dixie but there is a lot of jealousy in football....local support is a major factor in any game especially when you are playing a team from another county....we are a nation of begrudgers sure after all

I do my best to support all the Cork teams when they get out of Cork in Mjc or Fai . Been to a lot of games and I would agree I think Aul has gotten stronger last few years has seen a lot of clubs making strides and playing the passing game . From watching the Fai games and Mjc games I would say Cork soccer isn't as far behind as people make out . Yes we did have a few teams lose games by a good few goals but the likes of kilumney Coachford and Park have only gone out by the odd goal or on pen's .

We are but why not rally behind the remaining Cork teams, show all the other counties we can support our own!

Is it six FAI from all Cork leagues and six from AUL for MJC? Has it been a good season "outta Cork" compared to last few? Pearse excepted - if.......lets say when in memory of our fallen comrade..... they win its best season ever for AUL - but besides that, has it been good poor or average?

If Pearse win I think it will be an exceptional achievement and definitely up there with one of the best seasons ever for Cork AUL in the FAI cups. Next season clubs from around the country will be taking a lot more notice of the Cork teams!!

It must be a great asset having to be able to pick a narrow pitch or a wide pitch..taught that pike deserved to win the game thats all im sayin tricksy...im from cork but im a realist if cork teams dont deserve to win il say it thats all lucy huge loss to Coachfordthought pens was fair being honest. turning point was a strange 1 it was probably pike changing there keeper ! The lad that came on played well and stopped a few pens.

Ya I agree with he is a leader but some teams target him to wind him up and he loses the head..innishvilla and glen celtic game of week in my eyes too.cant wait for the midweek games to start noting better than going watching a game after work...the card he got to miss the pike game was after a right shocker of a tackle on lucy hubba it was a leg breaker anyone would have reacted .

Well if he was to get the job he will definately need good players but im sure the glen will probably be playing premier anyway....who knows the glen could take blarney streets place... whoever does get the job will have to be allowed do his own thing....he will certinally need to get rid of most of the current players because they are simply not next or near good enough for 1st division not alone premier. But I wish whoever does get the job well the best of luck because the northside need a good premier team and blarney street are a good club

Nowhere near next to good enough for 1st division?? Babsy, Judge, Benny, Paddy Macauliffe, Eoin Geaney, Jp thompson, all good players and were all involved when blarney street had a great second half of the season last year!! a few players will be needed but thats all, there playing every week with 11-12 players there doing ok with what they have, and not a hope in hell will they go down, Castleview and springfield will def finish below them, they will be mid table at worst!!

The street will be fine and if 1for adds to what's there then they will be title contenders not just talked about as title contenders next season

I said most of them....from theplayers you mentioned I agree are good players but you need more than 3 _ 4 excellent players to be competing for titles....i was being smart with hubba saying they could swap with the glen..how come they are only getting 11 _ 12 players every week....start of season they had over 20

Cheers lad.we r punching above our weight this season as we are a first division team put into premier league cause of managment walk outs at start and during season.myself and other gaffer wanted to play our last season and now cant cause have to run team.just for those that didnt know why springfield arent as strong this year.players gone to midleton and ramblers and msl.

I don't know about that lads every manager has his own way of doing things. I know our gaffer comes out with us and has a fierce Craic and that but being honest when it comes to picking a team he s cut throat and that's all about it .
Alot of us know him since we're young lads underage so we know the score with him he will have a drink with us and a joke but won't hesitate in dropping or subbing a fella because they socialise.everyones different tho and I don't think there's any of us no what really happend up in the street ?
Street were and are poor because they had a manager who wasn't any good.nice fella away from football I hear but when it came to managing he put himself ahead of the team

Lads, 2 situations are different. Grattan's committee wanted a change, Eddie left because he wasn't getting a hand! The grattan players didn't think it was fair on littleman. As for the blarney street players, I can't comment on that because I don't know the situation there.

Dixie's Cousin

And for grattan now, I hope to see them up the top of the premier AUL as soon as possible, not only for the players but the committee. I know personally those guys give 100% and I wish them the best. They gave me a chance to coach for both the A and B teams, we all know what happened with the A team and it could of killing my love for coaching but it didn't and I thank Don, joe and all of the committee for helping me and for encouraging me on my move to Castleview. I'll even go on record saying I want to thank Littleman for letting me coach his A team at the time! So lads lets move on and not blaming others for players moving, even coaches move!

Pat McCauliffe back as boss....they have signed some players back from the team they won the league with and from what I hear they will be even stronger next year.. Great to see a club try and turn things around because we have seen down through the years especially up the northside what happens to good teams when commitee members move on and they are very hard to replace..rockville and villa utd off the top of my head who were very good teams....great to see blarney street start to turn it around from next season also...

I think it was the best thing to happen the club, to be honest i think they were going stale, getting stuck in 3rd. They needed a reboot and the clubs going MSL this year saved the club from losing their premier status.

Is there an argument to suggest that these are just teams as opposed to clubs and that these problems will persist unless a proper club/youth structure is put in place. Even though, we're all aware that it would be difficult to compete with the likes of Castleview to organise that

Spot on....cork aul teams are lacking players coming through the ranks....look at MSL for example and the amount of underage teams that they have compared to AUL....Neighbouring teams are scrambling for signatures from lads in the same area....It goes back to the same argument that the AUL didnt give a toss for years about clubs set ups and how many teams from the one area were allowed play in the league

I totally agree....But looking at clubs now compared to 10 years ago is amazing....I remember watching clubs play and there would be anything up 20 lads involved in the comitee and they would be there hail or rain on the sideline....very hard for clubs to replace these members nowadays..
