If you're going to fit in here Crosbo, you'll need to call it a can. Even if it's not a can.

I was at our work Christmas dinner and one of the ladies piped up that even if Ireland do badly we'll all still have Northern Ireland to follow also.
I told her why I wouldn't be.
I don't think she'll ever talk to me again. :D

That's just exactly what the OWC need in these auspicious times, Wee Willie Frasier allied with desperado politicians, collectively campaigning for a good old fashioned, born again bigotry revival.
Yet another Ulster says no to ........ (fill in the blank space) protest,
or take your pick from sodomy, sin, James McClean, traitors, rum, sunday sports, anyone not named Willie, anything green, any non protestants, poppyless lapels, breastfeeding, homosexuals and anything Roman.

Just saw it on Motd, it was a superb finish, really controlled contact and placed with such precision right inside the post.

Lovely finish, fell nicely for him but needed a precise shot.
I had backed west brom to win at 21-1 didn't know they were 1-0 down at the time, though it was a decent price lol. (only 10p anyway!!).
2nd of the season for James. Also got top of the table Leicester to win the title at 33-1 :) Nice price.

Lovely goal and picked up Man of the Match too. Pulis' decision to sign him being vindicated and he's proved to be value for money. Hopefully he doesn't leave the PL for a long time.

It was good to see him go straight back into the team after his suspension too. Wouldn't have blamed Pulis for letting him stew.

Pulis knows letting him stew would most probably be ineffective, only do the opposite and build up a head of steam:) His problem isn't his attitude to his team mates, training or his work ethic, it's his discipline on occasion on the field which in Pulis' world is an issue when he crosses a line and stupidly gets himself sent off.
You're not supposed to look forward to or like playing against West Brom and who better than McClean to reinforce that.

An added bonus is when you have the club that is Chelsea, with a player like Costa in their side, left to whinge and whine afterwards about being bullied on their home ground.

Yeah, the thought of that has just made me smile broadly. A lovely thought.
I've been dubious about McClean's merits as an impact sub or a starter, but I suppose, if he's not going to turn into Damien Duff, than if he can add regular goals and an ability to really rattle the opposition (and lift the rest of our team) with controlled aggression and a bit of acting the maggot.....then I think they're pretty good virtues to have and this all seems pretty positive.

McClean's WBA v Swansea. He's realising his McCleanness under Pulis, playing on the edge, managing to just about not give away a penalty, tough as nails, actively involved in most every forward move and whipping in some delicious crosses which should have been struck into the net blindfolded.

Gave away a silly pass to allow Peterborough to break for their goal.
Assisted his own side's goal with a really good pull-back(which Fletcher finished beautifully) and constantly threatened down his flank. McClean's game is pretty limited if he can't use the ball sensibly or beat his man but tonight he managed to beat his man constantly or else come inside and his passing and crossing was very dangerous.
Got an awful booing from the Posh supporters. He want to take a corner at one stage and was greeted with a boo which was replaced with chants of "w*nker, w*nker, w*nker". It's pretty terrible how opposition fans boo have McClean as a marked man now. He seems to just attract all opposition vitriol for whatever interpretations fans have (or haven't even drawn).

The military fetish gets ever stronger in this country, probably as strongly as anywhere in a football crowd. So the first guy to break ranks was inevitably going to get abuse- be he Martin O'Neill, Michael O'Neill or a random German, Japanese, Argentine or Serb.
McClean does seem to thrive as a comedy villain too, on social media and the like.
At Albion- my own local EPL club- he does seem to beappreciated. Berahino getting more stick at the moment.

It was terrible alright but to be fair he burst a gut to get back and make up for it, Chester could have done a bit better to give him a dig out. I'm glad he played an important part in the equaliser.

I only saw the second half of WBA at City today. He nearly equalised with a right footed volley with the last kick of the game. He took up lots of good positions during the half but he was ignored by his teammates on almost every occasion. He was very frustrated, rightly so. Berahino has a bigger ego than his finishing ability warrants.
DeBruyne was immediately influential from when he came on with about 30 to go but City's midfield disappeared for the last 20, WBA could well have drewn.

It was more a case of bad decision making or taking too much out of the ball. There were a few occasions where he was in such a good position even I could have done something useful if passed to in that position.

used to work with a girl from Derry. Had a really thick accent, that hard-c + a sound (e.g. captain, car, etc) was all pronounced like k-ya. And, of course, we used to slaughter her for it.

There was one point in the interview about 17 or 18 minutes where Gilroy asks ".... and is this like an experience that you're always gonna have for the rest of your life?" and you just know he wants McClean to go on about the bond in the team and the relationship among the player because the Irish public would love to hear that. What I loved was McClean doesn't give it to him straight away. Refers to the "experience" of this tournament and of Euro 2012 and other aspects of the question.
Then, he gives Gilroy what he's looking for. And it's absolutely glorious: band of brothers, very close, will go that extra yard on the pitch, don't want to leave your mate in the sh*te (yes he says that), will have eachother's back. Glorious.
Love James. I don't know how I'd cope if I met him.

scored for West Brom v Northampton tonight...
A goalkeeping howler.
There's no danger when West Brom's James McClean strikes a low shot at goal from outside the area, but Northampton goalkeeper Adam Smith can only palm the ball into his own net.
Has he featured much for WBA at all this season so far?
