Reading striker David Murphy and former Saint Patrick’s Athletic winger Gareth Coughlan are among Seán McCaffrey’s transfer targets, while Johnny Breen has also joined up with the Dundalk squad for pre-season training.
The news came as the Lilywhites boss revealed his hope that “seven or eight” more signings will be confirmed over the next ten days.

David Murphy is the reading reserves top goalscorer AFAIK and Brian McDermott rates him highly.

Rory Patterson played for us against Dungannon last night, so I'd assume Plymouth have at least given him permission to train with us.

If I had to choose between Bobby Ryan and Stephen O Flynn to make an impression in the Premier Divison, I would go for Bobby. Both would really have to up their fitness either way on what I have seen of them in the last couple of seasons. Bobby Ryan lives in Ashbourne. Derry must be crazy to go for Leon Knight.

Danny North's namesake Danny South wasn't kept on at Oriel, pity as it would have being a good laugh when playing Sligo with North and South at opposite ends.

Robbie Kelleher interested in signing for us. Played and scored in friendly against Killavilla last week. Likely to be given some sort of deal if fitness is sorted out.
Supposedly talking to Conor Winn. Had a trial with Rovers last week, waiting to hear back from him.
Brian Collopy willing to stand in when needed for certain matches. May need to look at a loan signing for GK position.
Kerley still talking to Ballinasloe Town's Liam Lynch.
Kevin Williamson likely to remain with us.
Noel McGee agreed to stay on board but has recently joined the Army. Need to talk to them about getting him released for matches etc.
Joe Woods has re-signed following some confusion and links to Mervue/Salthill (studying in Galway).

If fit Robbie would be a good signing but it has been about 5 years now since he was fully fit for LOI football. Doing ok for Ballynanty in the Limerick leagues.

Well according to the paper he contacted Kerley looking to get back into the League, so hopefully he's prepared to put in the work - rather than Kerley contacting him to make up the numbers.

Wont be Simon Madden anyway, good signing for us :)
No need to rub it in.
Hopefully Peter Cherrie
Callum Morris (ex-Newcastle) and Shane O’Connor (ex-Ipswich) potentially for Dundalk.

He was meant to be playing for us in a friendly tonight against Wexford.
Not sure what the story is now, apparently still in England.

Colin Healy Signs for City
Cork City Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Republic of Ireland international Colin Healy to the club.
Healy, who has 13 caps for the Republic of Ireland and was on the verge of making the squad for the 2002 World Cup, joined the club in 2007 following spells at Celtic and Sunderland. He returned to English league football in January 2009 when he signed for Ipswich Town.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.net, City boss Tommy Dunne said: “We are delighted that Colin is back at Cork City Football Club. He is obviously a very talented player with a wealth of experience at the very top level of football, and he will be an excellent addition to our side.”
“He was an impressive performer in his previous spell with the club, and I am delighted that he has decided to come back home after a successful spell with Ipswich Town, and I am confident he will bring a lot to our squad.”
Healy, who trained with the club this morning at the Fota Island Resort, said he was pleased to be back at City: “I am delighted to be back at Cork City. I know a lot of the players here from my previous spell at the club, and that will make it easy for me to settle in.”
“Obviously I have worked with Tommy before, when Paul (Doolin) was here, and I am looking forward to doing so again. I just want to crack on now, get back training and start playing games again.”

Cork City look set to lose striker Graham Cummins after Preston North End submitted a bid for him earlier today. The offer is believed to be in the range of €100,000. from Extratime.

gutted to see him go but given that hes not proven in the premier - he is 24 years old and would be out of contract in the winter we have no choice
if we dont sell him now hell walk for nothing in 12 months. I doubt we will be able to replace him though

I am concerned as to where we can get goals from as with Graham we had someone who could get 10-15 goals easily this season.
Davin can step up but not sure can he get as many goals as Cummins.
We have a good squad together but a lack of goals could be a concern unless we bring in a suitable replacement.

Vinny Faherty could be on his way to you lot.
Plenty of 0-0's for us this year anyway.
Right call I think, but I can't see how we'll replace him.

In fairness, Davin O'Neill is a ready made replacement. Proven striker in first and premier. Should be no problem for goals.

Davin will get goals alright, no doubt there. We'll need someone else as well though, we should have the money now that Graham's been sold.
Heard Vinny Faherty was training with us as mentioned above. Would be pleased to sign him.

I, for one, was hoping not to see him playing against Shels again this year.

He scored one hat trick against ye. Never did anything else! His ability is undoubted, but his energy levels and concentration leave a lot to be desired. Saying this, the step up in level could be exactly what he needs. I wish him the best.
