He was with Bohs last season and played over 20 times for the first team . He was offered a contract. Since then, Pats have offered him a contract. Forrester is now deciding whether to stick with Bohs and guaranteed first team football, or take up the offer with Pats. It's not exactly competing with Pats now, is it?

Adam Clarke and Darren McAuley both linked to Harps.
Clarke looks pretty certain to sign while McAuley's potential signature could be depending on Coleraine.

Who's Adam Clarke?

Why in the name of Christare Bohs competing with Pats for players?

I wouldn't be surprised if both clubs offered him the same amount of money, Wouldn't be much

yeah same guy.
Good player, would love to see him here but I'd say it's a long shot.

Also, Mark Forker in talks with Longford Im hearing. He's at college in Maynooth in his final year and wont be able to travel up and down for us this year ('til June anyways). Cracking player.

Interesting. We're training in Leixlip so that would make sense for him. We've a good few players from or based around the general Kildare area.

Why in the name of Christ are Bohs competing with Pats for players?

What do you mean by that?

In terms of money or expectations or what?

CSFShels
11/01/2012, 10:41 PM
In terms of money. One would hope that Bohs aren't even paying players 200 a week in their current state.

You talking about Feely? maybe he's offered expenses by Pats or €50 by Bohs. Evan McMillan isn't signing for Pats this year because of work commitments. He's signing for Bohs because that suits.

Its similar to the argument over on boards.ie about Pats and Shels competing with each other for players. Its about who values the players more. Pats might have a budget of, say, 6.5k, and Shels say, 5k. Both managers like Kevin Dawson. Buckley's willing to spend €300 p/w, but Matthews is willing to spend €350 p/w. Add in he's comfortable there etc and he's going to stay there. Just because someone has a bigger budget, doesn't mean they'll outbid everyone with a lower budget for all players.

Wrong. It has NOT been confirmed yet. He's weighing up his options between us and Pat's

According to his dad a few weeks ago he just had to agree on money with Pats and he was definately off.

David BOHie
12/01/2012, 6:37 PM
So what you're saying is he still has to agree a contract before he signs? therefore he hasn't signed

Graham Gartland has signed for Shamrock Rovers. He's been wanting that for a good while, should be a good addition for them.

I responded to the question raised about Bohs (as you noted) and asked about the equally relevent question regarding Shels budget (without using terms like "***ed or"the state they are in").
If you dont like a post/poster dont read/respond to it/them. If its me I promise I wont be concerned and save your lecture for somebody interested in your opinion. As you rightly point it "anyone can talk about what they want" so dont need you to decide on the matter for us.

You've finally caught up with the rest of foot.ie, in that even you don't have a clue what you're on about as well

Bit of a David Luiz type. Great on the ball for a centre half but tends to get caught out of position and outmuscled. Not thick and ignorant enough to cut the mustard at the moment IMO.
Having said that, he has a lot of potential and maybe a good run of games could iron out some of those issues.

Dan Murray has left Shamrock Rovers. With Gartand arriving, he probably felt it was time to go. Cork City possibly ?

Could never break in to our first team proper, but was brilliant when he was in it bar two or three games where he didn't settle. Disappointed he's gone as he's a more than capable back up to McG and Peers. Enjoys a run at a few midfielders too.

Homer, ye signed a good one, Derek is an excellent signing, never got a chance in Sligo IMO (due to quality defenders they have) very good man to man marker, played with Chris Shields and Shane O Neill in Bray, Sean seems to be making good signings..

I think the extraordinary situations at Pats and Bohs have probably exaggerated it. The two Rovers squads have been very settled, which hasn't always been the case.

John Dunleavy, former Wolves, supposed to be signing for Cork City today.

He's from Donegal and Derry were apparently interested, so surprised but pleased to see him down here...

Bas**rds...absolutely cracking young player. Was Wolves reserves captain. Been training with Harps, surprised to see him go to Cork, not to rise anything here but there must be quite a high offer to make him go the whole way down there when Derry and Harps were both looking to sign.

Had a great Season with Coleraine before moving over to Plymouth. Could be a very good signing for you.
