I had to look up John Paul Kelly to remind myself of him. He was some bit of stuff for Bohs. His wiki says he was fired by Liverpool. I remember hearing him in an interview saying he felt homesick so left Liverpool! What drove him away from football?
Joxer drove himself away from football. Usual footballer pitfalls fondess of booze, gambling but other more serious stuff I wouldn't want to repeat online to prevent the site from getting shut down.
I heard he is in the slammer now.

Odds on Roddy lasting the season?
Actually, just on Roddy; he mentioned on Newstalk last week that Setanta are financing a follow-up documentary at the moment to The Rod Squad. They'd cameras in the Newstalk studio.

If Mons money troubles get worse I half-think he'd walk. SD Galway could use a big name ;)

Kevin O'Connor is supposed to be signing for Bray, ex-Wolves and brother of Danny.
Reading boss Brian McDermott was also in the Carlisle a few weeks ago, heard he was looking at our young center half Pierce Sweeney.

Kieran Marty Waters looks a promising player for you lot. Seen him a few times against us and also highlights on MNS, looks like a prospect

Agree with that, if he doesn't get snapped up by an English club I could see the likes of Rovers and Pats trying to get him in the off-season.
Kevin O'Connor is supposed to be signing for Bray, ex-Wolves and brother of Danny.

Was watching Forrester, was back again on the monday to see him a 2nd time.

We tried to sign 5 from bray at the start of the season we got 1, Mulroy, Sheils, Waters and someone whose name i forget.
Dundalk interested in offering Barry Conlon a contract after the break, hope he has made a good bit of dosh in the UK, as he wont be coming for the money, and thats for certain.

Window opens in July. I suppose they could leave before the window but not sign for anyone else till July.

Marty is a smashing prospect, with the right coaching and game time he will end up in England, no doubt about that, I personally think he needs another season or two with us to help develop and there's no better man than Devo to get him a move to a UK club :p If he wants a quick buck then he moves to Rovers, if he wants to play at a higher level then he stays with Bray for a few seasons and plays week in week out.
We actually have a few young lads just as talented coming though, Sweeney is our leavinng cert center half :D and there's another kid who actually hasn't made his senior debut yet called Sean Hurley, brother of Shels Stephen. He could be the brightest talent to come out of Bray in years

Possibly Shane O'Neill... beggers belief why himself and Shields picked Dundalk over Pats, obviously money had a part to play in it.

Doesn't this happen every year?
It's likely that Dundalk and Pats have similar budgets, with Dundalk possibly having to spend a little more as they're outside Dublin. Buckley and McCaffrey would have been in for a lot of the players, and it is very possible that Dundalk offered higher wages to players A and B, while Pats offered higher wages to players X and Y.

don't suppose any of them would know McCaffery from his time coaching the youth teams etc?, that and maybe the promise of being a nailed on starter could be a factor. I doubt there'd be a huge difference in money..

McCaffrey also said our budget is 22k a week. So I think its safe to say the man shouldn't be listened to at all

Boco & Ventre to follow Cook to Accrington.
Davoren to Shams.
Danny North to Watford.
All rumours going about in Sligo.

Good as Davoren is, Rovers would have to be offering silly money to get him mid-season and Sligo would be mad to sell.
North would be a huge loss to the league, but would snuff out Sligo's title challenge so it's all gravy.
Yea, apparently Shams need Davoren and we will be losing Danny North so Gary Twigg is moving to the Showgrounds in a swap deal.

Not being funny but when pats signed North he was playing with Alfreton Town having been released by Grimsby. He's a top striker in this league but there's absolutely no way a championship team is spending money on him

Matthew Crossan has left Derry, gone to America to play bogball for the Summer.
Marc Brolly trained with Harps yesterday, he has an offer on the table from Derry too. Still contracted to Dungannon so if a transfer fee is mentioned it'll be a non runner on our part.
