Aye thought Rovers performance was shocking, I was just suggesting the wind didn't help matters ill its early days.
Shels had more fans in Tallaght for a friendly than Pats had for the 2nd league game in Tallaght last season. I expect the same will happen for the next Rovers Pats game in Tallaght...Saying you have sold every ticket for every game in Tallaght is bull****. Pats away support last season was abysmal I'm sure other clubs fans will confirm that....

Why's that? We've sold every ticket we've been allocated in Tallaght for 3 games so far.

If you're happy with the level of performance by Rovers and think that it'll encourage people to go to games, then fine.

Considering I had to get a friend to pick me up tickets from Tallaght, as did others for both games because we didn't get one for the away end (sold out) i'd tend to point out how wrong you are there , this year we got 500 sold out very fast and recieved an extra 200 which also sold out.

as many neutrals as UCD fans.
How on earth do you work out who's a neutral and who's a UCD fan?

803 was the official attendance. I think the half-time teams and their accompaniment came in the main gate and so wouldn't have been counted on the clicker, but 803's official, so I'll be going with that.

Best is to e-mail the club on the adult/child price issue.

Haha this is brilliant, Due to the segregation against Bohs we actually brought the biggest crowd to Tallaght last season and there probably wont be a bigger away crowd this season than what we brought last night, i didnt realise selling all ur allocated tickets and then asking for more was an 'abysmal' support

We absolutely sold out every ticket as I know quite a few who didn't get one for either game. Our away support last year was abysmal for other games. No question

However this thread is about this year, and again if you think last night's efforts will bring people bac, then good luck to you.

I'll happily welcome you back to mediocre crowds

Pats fans were a credit to their club and the league last night ,sang for entire game and mixed well with hoops in the boozer before hand, they will sell their entire allocation for Tallaght everytime, how many they will bring to other grounds is another story .

I wasn't even going to rise to that strange one. As there was at least 150 UCD fans, that would mean there were 500 or less fans from the Big Club.

Good idea of the away support there (and the complete lack of home support at the end)

This pic at this link shows the other site of the ground towards the end too

Simple enough, I sat in the segregated UCD section as there were no empty covered seats on the Bohs side. UCD score a peno and no reaction from at least half of the people around me.
Happy to e-mail your club, but would have thought UCD fans would be concerned about families attending being ripped off?

Exactly, if that was the case the Nou Camp would have an official attendance of about 'zero' every time.

No, in the nou camp, everyone who enters the game has their ticket scanned (be it match or season)

Some LOI clubs do not count season tickets as they enter the ground.

Its pretty amateurish too IMO

A foolproof system.

Of course I'd be concerned. However, what do you want me to do about it personally? Whining on the internet is almost a national pastime here, but if you want to actually achieve anything, e-mail the club with your concerns. That's not passing the buck, that's taking the issue to hand and telling you exactly who you should talk to about it.

And the website comment seems like a bit of a petty jibe for the sake of it, but for what it's worth, I understand the club are in talks with the crowd who do another league website about getting it completely overhauled. There's been a fair few problems with the current company. (The news content is club controlled, the rest is done by a web company).

To be fair complaining on here about club pricing is not going to change much. If enough people contact the club involved and voice their concerns then there is a chance that the club(s) will take notice and address the issue - same advice to those complaining about prices at any other ground - let the relevant decision makers know.

Alternatively there is always the Joe Duffy show ;)

some kid no older than 14 was asked to pay 15 quid in cause he didn't have a student card:confused: idiots out there.
I never understood that mentality, what 14 year old has a student card? 99% of secondary schools don't issue student cards, it's just third level that do so so asking for one as proof of age/if you are a student is ridiculous.

Happened myself a few years ago as well when I was still in secondary school. The lads at the ticket booth wanted 4 of us to buy adult tickets because we didn't have student cards and they refused to sell us student tickets dispite the fact we were all in second level, only for a steward interving on our behalf we wouldn't have gotten to go to the game. Clubs should be trying to attract as many kids as possible on freebies, as long as an adult pays in and takes full responsibility for them. A lot of clubs seem to direct those offers at home fans only.

I love the way this thread is 10 pages long after only 2 weeks.

Rovers only allocated Pats a certain number of kids tickets for Tuesday's game so some had to pay the full adult price (€15)

Pats charge €5 for kids accompanied by adult and €10 for unaccompanied kids (u16). They have discoounted family tickets too.

I never understand that. "Sorry - I know you're only 9, but we've run out of bits of the bits of paper for that, so we've to charge you as if you're 19".

Well what you have Pats do? They were sent a finite amount of each ticket. If all kids tickets are gone, the options for the kid is either pay the full price, or don't go to the game. Pats can't just return the money to Rovers saying yeah I know you're expecting €15 per ticket but we sold most of them to kids so we only charged €7

Not blaming Pat's. But I suppose I was thinking about it happening at the turnstiles (pretty sure some club has done this in the recent past); sending them out to the club is a bit more awkward.

If you simply cross out "Adult" and write "Student" on the ticket, on the basis that people are going to get checked going into the ground anyway and anyone with the wrong ticket will be caught, can that system be messed around with? I assume there has to be some check like this anyway otherwise anyone would try their arm and buy a student ticket from Pat's.

Id say theres numerous reasons for that.
The fact that they charge extortionist rates in comparison to any other LoI club.
That some of the less tastefull element in their support would put off alot of the familys and what not.
That the Phibsborough/Cabra area isnt what it once was, I.E. there is alot of transient residents now in these areas and alot of the younger familys have moved further out of Dublin.

They are just a few that I am guessing of but im sure Bohs fans themselves would have a better idea than me, also id like to think that alot of fans are having some kind of boycott for employing the greatest ******* in Ireland to use as their stewards.
