The figures the club give are ridiculous.
Like poster said the club said it was 1200 tonight which is miles out and likewise for the past few games.
Tonight I would have said roughly 1800.

They're 200 less on average than fan guesstimates, which in my experience fits in well with how fans overestimate crowds, so they're generally not nonsense. I do think 1200 was too low for last night, but sure let's see what goes in the programme in the next issue.

Extratime estimates 1700 for Sligo-UCD
791 for Fingal-Dundalk
190 approx for Longford-Finn Harps

Figures in our programme can't be right. I'm not being Bias or anything, but there far to low. Last night was a great example. Said there was 1200. Red stand was over 3/4 with about 1500 in it. And then about 300 spread around the ground.

Never that many, maybe 1,000 at a push 600 Pats fans
How hard can it be to count people coming through the turnstiles?

Do they include season ticket holders that attend the games ? You show your season ticket and you get a match ticket and then get incuded in the attendance ye ?

Is the season ticket a booklet with a stub for all the matches or a credit card type card ? We show our season ticket at the ticket office and they give us a match ticket which the steward then takes the stub off it . It counts towards the attendance.
We had the booklet last year and you handed the stub off the relavant match to the steward.
Do Sligo record everyone that comes through the gates either paying or ticket holders ? If they do then the attendance they call out should be correct but if they dont record season ticket holders then if its a large crowd it could be a safety issue if they dont now exactly how many they have in the ground.

Wha? Credit cards and booklets!
You show yer man on the stile your ticket, he says 'howya' and you walk through.
Infairness we dont get big enough crowds for it to be a safety problem

Its against licensing though. Everyone who's in the ground has to be accounted for.

I'm almost sure that is Paddy you are talking about :D Actually it is Paddy, He is an absolute gent. He also puts the clubs match posters up aroud the town for every home game too. You couldn't meet a nicer man.
On the Bohs v Bray match, i though there was 400/500 at the game at max, terrible turn out.

Its the way of the future for the LOI. In the short term the kids bring an adult to the game boosting the gate and in the long term the kids get hooked and come back.
